I don't speak German (yet!) and was a bit stressed about getting my curly hair cut and highlighted. Melanie speaks perfect English and not only did a really great job with my hair; she is cool. I am relieved to have found a perfect fit. She offers a "cut and go" option so if you are in a hurry and don't need her to style your hair you save some euros to boot.

Thee website states to book an appointment by phone, but I messaged the salon on Facebook and Steffi got back to me right away and I booked an appt by Facebook messenger. When you first enter the salon: you'll hang up your coat, have a seat, fill out an information sheet/contact info, and then Steffi will ask what you would like, get your hair washed and conditioned, then Steffi will cut your hair. I was pretty flexible and just wanted to get rid of the unhealthy part of my hair since I hadn't cut my hair in over a year. I wanted to keep as much length as possible along with long layers and angles to frame my face. She provided input when I asked and she repeated what she would do which is always reassuring. She even showed me exactly how much she planned on cutting. Steffi's English is amazing and there was no language barrier. After Steffi completed my cut, Ally (Allie) blew my hair out straight. Ally is steffi's colleague who is American and she has a total of 6 years experience. She was very sweet and it was easy to carry on a convo with her. My hair came out pretty well. I almost wish my angles were alittle shorter to frame my face better, but in their defense.... I'm sure Steffi would have cut it shorter if I requested. I honestly didn't notice that it was still pretty long until after it was blown out. (My hair always looks different wet vs dry.) It's no big deal though. My primary goal was to chop off my dead ends, so mission accomplished! This place is a bit pricey compared to the states, but I think it's relatively fair for Germany. I will most likely return in 4-6 months for another cut!

As it was close to our AirBnB I choose Salon Metz and went in on a Wednesday to ask for availability on Friday morning--yes, no problem! It looks a bit outdated from the outside so I was kind of nervous how my hair would look like on that day. Long story short: my hair stylist Nancy did an incredible job! I couldn't have been happier when i left the salon and I got compliments on my hair all day. It didn't even cost much, they charged me a very reasonable amount for an hour work. I was so so happy!

Salons normally stress me out (ironic, i know) but here I felt comfy all throughout. I had color and cut and in the end really loved it. I would've given them 5 stars but they dint get the color even the first try (not entirely their fault as I walked in wearing 1000 different colors on my head and they warned me ahead of this possibility anyway) but they gave it another go and my hair ended up looking 1000% better!
