This is not simply my opinion--the company acknowledged the outstanding work in writing. I received a message confirming that they still needed to return to install the laundry top/sink and finish the quartz on the kitchen countertops near the window area. There is also a carpet issue that a representative said he needed to personally inspect. Despite these outstanding items, I received a phone call demanding payment and was told that a lien could be placed on my home. I found the tone and manner of that conversation disrespectful and completely inappropriate, particularly when I was trying to address the fact that the work remained unfinished. What is especially frustrating is that I had already communicated with multiple people from the company regarding the incomplete work and payment. Rather than simply completing the remaining work and resolving the billing issue professionally, the situation escalated into threats concerning my property. After the call, I requested copies of all signed agreements, invoices, change orders/authorizations, an itemized accounting of the amount allegedly owed, and documentation supporting the charges. To be clear, my dispute is not about refusing to pay for properly completed work. My concern is being pressured for payment while the company's own written communication confirms that work remains to be completed. I have retained the written communications, voicemail, photographs, and other documentation regarding this matter. I am also escalating my concerns to company leadership and filing complaints with the appropriate consumer and contractor oversight organizations. I would have preferred for this to have been resolved professionally and directly. Unfortunately, my experience thus far has made that impossible. I will update this review if the company completes the outstanding work and resolves the billing dispute appropriately.

There were issues with a piece of equipment he rented-not his fault, that prolonged the project by many weeks. At the end, he gave us a new quote of 30,000. He stated this was for hours worked and many more days than originally needed. Unfortunately we didn't pay attention to days he was there, hours nor crew. There were days he didn't come, his crew would be there for an hour or so and we didn't keep track. Not once did he mention how much more it would be. He made a statement that he'd have to rent the equipment longer and that would increase the price, but that was all. We used our entire savings, and had to pull out 10,000 from our 401K to pay him. We now have a dirt lot we can't do anything with due to no funds. The work itself isn't bad. The job was well done. But I'd keep track of exact hours, crews and make everything written down in the contract. This destroyed us financially.

We hired SunCoast Restoration in 2025 for mitigation and restoration following water damage…read more The mitigation portion of the project went smoothly and was completed without issue. Unfortunately, our experience with the restoration phase was much more challenging. From an administrative standpoint, we received a final restoration invoice that did not properly reflect payments we had already made and included materials we had purchased ourselves. We notified SunCoast of these issues immediately, provided receipts and documentation the same day, and were told the invoice would be revised. Despite multiple follow-ups, we did not receive a corrected invoice or meaningful communication for nearly two months. Instead, a mechanic's lien was filed against our home based on the uncorrected invoice. After filing a complaint with the BBB and notifying SunCoast that we intended to pursue the issue further if it remained in place, we finally received a corrected invoice. We promptly mailed payment, and the lien was subsequently released. We also experienced workmanship concerns during the restoration process, including loose fixtures, electric work and finish details that required additional attention after project completion. By the end of the project, we were exhausted by the ongoing billing and communication issues and chose to address some remaining items through another contractor rather than continue working through SunCoast. In addition, we experienced a gas leak after returning home. The workers had moved our gas dryer and did not properly secure the gas line but put the dryer back in its place. We had not been informed of any concerns regarding the gas connection or that there were precautions we should take before turning the gas back on. We ran laundry overnight and woke up to the smell of gas. We notified them and they took full responsibility. Fortunately, no one was injured. While some aspects of the final restoration turned out well, the combination of billing errors, prolonged communication gaps, the filing of a lien during an unresolved billing dispute, workmanship concerns, and the gas safety issue made this an unnecessarily stressful experience. My advice to anyone considering this company would be to carefully review all invoices, maintain thorough records of payments and communications, and inspect completed work closely before making final payment.
