Then we were called back. I was told that I needed a panoramic X-ray and I forgot to stop by our dentist so my son could get one so we got one here which was an extra fee, no biggie. The surgeon came in and was very thorough and explained the whole process and what would be the expectation on the day of surgery and so on. We were asked if we had questions and once we were done, we went back to the front. Now here is where my frustration comes in. We get called back to schedule the surgery, only to be told that they were not in network and I would be paying out of pocket. Now if you had my insurance info for a week, I'm sure you checked to make sure you were getting paid and that it was valid. So why not tell me that you weren't in network? That ticked me off. I took time off work only to not even be moving forward with his surgery. So I paid and dipped! Some places are just getting ridiculous. If I'm scheduling with you and you see I'm not covered, let me know so I can find another provider of the service....not pay you for monies for nothing.

Their effort to confirm my appointment was a phone call to my answering machine the day before at 8:36 with a deadline for confirmation of noon that same day! Really! I was given 3 hours and 24 minutes to respond to their call or lose the appointment I had been counting on for 2 months. I was busy that morning with a haircut appointment and grocery shopping and was unable to retrieve or respond to their call. I also had another appointment in the afternoon. Their website requests at least 48 hours notice for cancellations, but they offer only 3 hours and 24 minutes to cancel me! I think it's a lousy business practice! They need to post this cancellation information on their bills and scheduling documents, so customers know ahead of time that they may lose their appointments after less than 4 hours notice!

I had a tooth emergency (severe toothache) that I had to wait until Monday to be seen by a dentist and Dr. Garlitz and his staff was able to get me seen early Monday morning. Originally we thought I was going to have to get a root canal on my very last toothe (before the molars). So he gave me Ibuprofen and antibiotic to help with the inflammation and what not. I was later seen a week later for my root canal oral surgery and crown placement. Once Dr. Garlitz started cleaning out all of the decay and previous fillings, he realized that there wasnt going to be enough above the gums to save. He told me about this and let me know a cheaper, more effective way for me to deal with the tooth. We needed up extracting the tooth during my appt time. He let me know that my molar tooth would more than likely move into that empty spot now. I'm truly thankful for his honesty and integrity on his work because he could've went ahead and did the root canal, even though I would've been back in his office 6 months to a year later with a similar problem. Not enough words to say, but thank you! I will be only going to him from now and you should too!
