this store is so cute! my partner and i loved taking our kiddos here. they have such a nice selection of plushies, legos, figures (we love the dinosaurs!). they also have a book selection downstairs & they offer gift wrapping for you too! we have come here many times & always leave feeling happy. the people who work here have always been so sweet! i do wish the price of jellycat brand stuffed animals was more affordable, although that's not in their control as that brand is expensive everywhere you go. read more

Gee Willikers, what a great store! An old fashioned toy store in the heart of Hood River, they have retro toys like blocks and trucks and board games plus modern toys and of course legos, puzzles and books. Even kites which are perfect for Hood River with all of the wind. The variety is impressive and the toys span ages and price points, so something for everyone. From the outside the store looks small but it's two stories and contains quite a lot. As mandated by state law - not some random request of the owners - masks are required to enter. Hand sanitizer is provided, a good precaution since customers typically pick up and handle the items. I appreciate their diligence during these never ending Covid days. read more

What a great toy shop! They have a large variety of both educational & just-for-fun toys, games, books, puzzles & plush animals for a wide age range of baby through teens and beyond. I was particularly impressed with all their board games for both young and older. And they have a downstairs, too, so from the outside it doesn't look nearly as big as it really is. The store is very well organized and tidy, and the entire staff was friendly and helpful. I thought their prices were very reasonable, and either the same as what I've seen at other retailers or the price was actually lower in some instances. What a charming place!! So many cute shops in downtown Hood River and wouldn't you know of COURSE there is one for the littles! I am a mom of two, and while I love supporting local businesses, I still price check between that big online retailer and the store I go to. The prices on EVERY item I looked at, and I bought quite a lot, was the same here in store OR LESS. Nothing was more expensive. It was a no brainer to buy my kids a couple is cute gifts from here. I got my son a watch and my daughter a Charm It necklace with 3 charms to start her off. They have a GREAT in store selection of charms and I was glad we found it because I got to see the quality. Definitely recommend this place to ANY person shopping for kids. Loads of cute stuff for any kid in your life! read more

This toy shop brings back so much childhood nostalgia! The second you walk in, you're greeted by a menagerie of unique toys for all ages!! From LEGOs, books, and plush, to cars, dolls, and fidget toys. This place has it all! They even have a bunch of vintage styled toys/games that many adults grew up with as children. What I love most about the shop is the wide selection of board games and squishy fidgets. I'm a big fan of Nee Doh brand toys and this is one of the only stores in the gorge that has a wide selection of them. The whole shop is colorful and fun to explore. G Willikers is my all time favorite toy store. I visited there in June and was impressed by the fact that they offered hand sanitizer and required masks for customers and employees. I was happy that safety over sales was their first concern. Not only do they have the best selection of toys at any store I've ever been to, I appreciate the cheerfulness of the staff and willingness to go the extra mile. I live three hours from Hood River, but G Willikers is my first stop when I get to town. read more

Do not support this store. I have been a long time customer as someone who has lived seasonal in and out of Hood River for a long time and has kids. We were driving through today and my kids were excited to stop at their favorite toy store in town they haven't been to since summer. They offered me a mask which was more of a demand and were completely rude. My son and I both have confirmed medical exemptions. They are totally discriminatory. I decided to leave and won't be back. It's too bad too.. I planned to buy a couple of gifts. I guess they are ok with a loss in revenue for their small business over their complete insanity. I left quietly with my kids while they had crazy smirks on their faces. If you support freedom and travel to Hood River, leave this one out. read more

I know people are scared, but is it really necessary to call the police when your customer doesn't use hand sanitizer? Really nice/cute toystore that my kids wanted to spend all day in. It's actually quite large - they have an entire first floor plus a full basement of goodies. A huge variety of toys and books - you could spend hours looking at everything. I ended up buying a kite for a very reasonable price. What a totally awesome toy store!!! They have something for every kid...from newborn to 99 years old! Books, old school games, candy...I saw so many things that I played with as a kid as well as things my kids played with. I know where my grandchildren will be getting Christmas presents from this year! They have two levels of shopping and the downstairs is bigger than the upstairs! They don't have an internet store but they will allow you to place phone orders and they will ship your gifts...They were nice people to talk to and I look forward to shopping with them. I've lived nearby for 2.5 years and FINALLY braved G Willikers with kids in tow (I really wanted to go ALONE, hahaha). It was the most fun I've had in a while! I loved it! They had such an amazing collection of EVERYTHING. It's pricey, but you're getting high quality brands. We bought a kite, a book, a puzzle, and a toy car. We also got plenty of ideas to go back for. I'm definitely skipping Amazon and doing our birthday and Christmas shopping at G Willikers. Happy to support a local/small business. The employee I spoke with at check out was so helpful and calm with my kiddos. She double checked that I wanted everything and a child hadn't snuck anything in. I had 3 kiddos with me at the time (2, 4, and 8). Just be aware that there isn't much space for a stroller and there isn't an elevator to get downstairs, so probably leave the stroller and opt for a carrier. I wish I had. This place is AMAZING! We were visiting the area earlier this week and were thrilled to find this place! Not only is it a catchy name but the store has some great toys that brought back a lot of fond memories of similar items we played with as children. And, our daughter had a wonderful set of Calico Critters as a child (she is now 27 years young) and had thought they were no longer made. We found them at G.Williker's and they are just as cute as they were so many years ago. If you're in the area or happen to be traveling along the Columbia River, I would highly recommend this store. This is probably the nicest independent top shop in the state of Oregon! It has a fantastic selection, including the usual brands you find at similar toy shops, plus a bunch of extra surprises. The large game section and wide range of kids' books were especially exciting. Prices are in-line with similar stores. Don't miss the downstairs part-- the staircase is tucked away, but half of the store or more is in the basement level. read more
