TEN STARS!!! I have…read morehad to use process servers about 100+ times in my professional life (civil litigation). I never thought I would need one for a personal matter! I even had a PI trying to track down the Person I wanted to serve who went AWOL. When the Person had been sighted, I immediately called Barnes (recommended by a friend) and left a message. Got a call-back within TWO minutes, and a voicemail while they were finishing another job. We talked, I emailed my documents, sent electronic payment, Barnes printed them out at a FedEx on the way to the location...Alas, no luck! GAH! BUT then Barnes asked me for a possible alternative location where they waited, and waited, and then BAM!!! YOU GOT SERVED!!! Also got a photo of the person and their vehicle (over and above!!!) and sent me the Proof of Service that evening so I could file it with the Court next day. And all at an amazingly reasonable price - I wasn't even charged extra for printing costs or waiting at the new location! What was the cherry on top of the icing on top of the cake was that Barnes communicated with me at EVERY step - I wasn't left hanging for a moment.

It took you 6 days to tell us you cannot accommodate our request knowing a life was at risk. 6 days you took our money and for 6 days you waited to tell us you could not accommodate our requests. Within those 6 days I could hired a professional company who would have said from the start yes or no. You choose to wait 6 days. 6 days to say no. And yes my gut feeling did and does feel you know the person. No length of response from you will change my opinion of this company. I originally provided 2 addresses where I thought the defendant might be, I was told $110.00 for 5 attempts at any address. I asked for the skip trace since I wasn't sure of the defendants correct address but was advised to wait. Well the skip trace was necessary and with still 2 attempts left, I got charged an additional $85 for them to attempt at a new address. Total cost: $370! I could have saved myself $85+ if they gave me all this info and the correct info up front.

They just did a terrific job for me on a rush assignment dealing with a particularly difficult Sheriff's Office. They moved heaven and earth to get something done in one day. This is the second time they basically dropped everything and got something done for me that was pretty difficult. They have also finessed a few things in the San Mateo Sheriff's Office. (Frank knows the local Sheriffs and is careful to follow the procedures in each office -- this one needs a declaration re electronic writ even after the change in the SER forms etc...) If you have work in Nor Cal, I can't recommend them highly enough. (I should also mention that they just opened an office right across from CT Corporation in Glendale)

I submitted a subpoena for rush/24-hour…read moreprocess service, yet after more than a week and a half--and multiple follow-ups--they never even attempted to serve it. Each time I called, I spoke with different employees who all told me it was "in process" and that I would receive an update. The only time I ever got updates was when I chased them down myself. On one occasion I was even told it would be served that evening, which never happened. Later I was told their server doesn't go to that city very often. If that's the case, then why offer and charge for rush 24-hour service?? When the case manager finally called me, he claimed the request had 'slipped through the cracks.' This was the same person who had previously told me it was actively being worked on and that he would follow up with the server. It's hard to understand how something can slip through the cracks when multiple staff members repeatedly assured me it was being handled. By the time they offered more apologies and promises to fix it, the subpoena deadline had already passed and it was no longer usable. This was after I had already taken the time to go to the courthouse and wait to have the subpoena certified in the first place. Completely unreliable service and a huge waste of time and energy. I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere.
