Mark was super easy to communicate with and very open to negotiation and discussion to make sure the project was going to contain every element I wanted and that the pricing was within my budget. Pricing was very competitive. Alex and his crew did a fantastic job installing my deck stairs and porch, they are beautifully done and very sturdy. Far better than what we had before. They were there within 2 days of hire and completed the work within 2 days. We told them not to paint but Alex threw in paint for just the cost of materials, which was nice. Although, I wish I had some say on the color since they didn't ask beforehand and I would have loved a natural stain instead. The crew was very kind, they'd even bring my packages into the garage for me and make sure to close the garage door when they were done. The work is sturdy, done right, and I feel confident will last. My only point of advice is to just be more mindful of the garden. I had just purchased and planted 6 new plants and had a succulent ground cover I had been working to grow out for years. It was all so trampled I thought maybe they had dug it out at first. It would have been nice to get warning so I could dig it up myself (since it was fresh planted) or for them to step around it. Overall, I'd definitely hire GAB again (and likely will to finish our deck soon) and will reccomend them to friends and family. Asked for bids from multiple contractors, and this contractor was able to come out same day. I talk to him on the phone and do measurements and give an estimate. I thought the estimate was fair and appropriate for the cost of the materials, the demo, and the labor. A lot of the other contractors were giving me ridiculously low bids, which I knew were shady and they hadn't measured the area. They came within a few days in same day. I had a new, completely rebuilt dock, which is fabulous. They kept the area clean while they were working, and I barely knew they were there, totally respectful. I am so happy to have my dock back so that I can play on the lake. read more

GAB construction were 1 of 4 companies we contacted for an estimate on siding our whole house. I spoke with Mark and he said Alex (co-owner) will stop by. When Alex arrived, he immediately commented how nice our house is and had ideas to go with the siding that we were looking to replace. His team were respectful and considerate of our needs: as we sometimes work from home, there was a time that we had to ask them to pause some construction while we were on work calls. Alex made some siding suggestions that we never thought about and are very happy with his ideas. He also suggested a change with our front porch lighting and soffit and WOW, we love it. Regarding cost, GAB Construction were very reasonable, and the little additions that they did were well worth it! These guys just finished an exterior re-siding project for me, and I couldn't be happier. I have a 1950s-era home with its original siding and trim, so I expected some surprises (dry rot and other damage) as they removed the old siding and soffit, but that's why I went with them. GAB does what is effectively a whole-house exterior remodel. Their initial quote is higher compared to the other exterior siding companies, but once you factor in the likely add-on work that the other guys don't quote, GAB offered a really good value for the money. Their workmanship was excellent because they paid attention to the details and took the time to do things right the first time. If I noticed some minor issue, they immediately corrected it. And they made tweaks here and there at my request without charging me a change fee. They also did a really good job cleaning up the site after the project, and reseeded my lawn where it was damaged by frequent foot traffic (remember, this was in the middle of winter in Seattle). As I said at the beginning, I'm thrilled at the results. I got a whole new exterior, an up-to-date look and no worries about the next little exterior thing that has to be fixed or replaced. GAB Construction was very quick to respond to my request for a quote to replace an existing deck and build a cover over the new deck. Alex came out the next day and walked over the project space , listening to what I wanted and assuring me that it was something that could be done. He gave me a rough estimate on the spot and the next day I had a firm quote. We worked out the options I wanted and a start date of two weeks, to meet my timeline- GAB could have started sooner but I wasn't available.
