H & H ask said we would need new tires soon; nothing urgent, but in the near future. Our son got the car back and drove it back to college. The very same day he had a flat tire because the tire cracked and was shot. He drove the car back home and we made arrangements with a tire shop to get new tires. Since we were making the considerable investment in the new tires, I told the tire shop to please double check the alignment to make sure it was all still good, so we wouldn't ruin the new tires. Well, the tire shop put new tires on and checked the alignment and found that the left outer tie rod and right lower ball joint were bad. They said there is no way that an alignment was done because it is impossible to align a car with these issues, because the alignment would not stay. We paid $250 for an alignment that didn't happen. And if I hadn't been extra cautious to tell the tire shop to just double check that the alignment was still good, we not only would have wasted the $250 on an alignment that basically didn't happen, but we would also have quickly destroyed our new $600 tires. Also, a reputable mechanic shop should be able to see when tires are failing to the point of cracking. Our son could have been injured or killed had this tire failed on an interstate at a high speed. Never again will we go to H & H.

The time it took to repair my truck was…read moreTERRIBLE (44 DAYS), their quote means nothing, it took 8 days to take the motor apart and provide me a quote of $38,500 for an overhaul. After I put $10K down, the very next day I was told I needed new camshafts which would be an additional $5500 even though they already spent 8 days taking the motor apart. Two weeks later I was told I need a new turbo & actuator adding another $7300, day 40 was told I needed a new air compressor. When it was time to pick up my truck I was told the total was $64k but Kaite was able to negotiate it down to $57k with the owner. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE, I was consistently lied to about the completion date, had I known it was going to take that long I would have not lived in a hotel for 44 days, but instead went home. I felt stuck, most days the temperature was below 0 degrees and it is a small town with no Uber/Lyft to pop up at the shop daily. The mechanics at the shop do not know how to do an overhaul so my motor was shipped to their Willmar location without my consent extending the completion date. If I knew they were going to charge me more than quoted, I would have never put down the $10k and would have bought a new motor. I called their main shop in Sunburg to speak to the owner Dan, was told he would call me back and I never received a call from him. I was provided with Dan's email so I sent an email with a 2 page attachment that outlined the timeline of events and my experience with his Alexandria location, Dan never called me or returned my email.

I had Dans diesel do a out of frame complete overhaul, Dan said they were using genuine Cummins…read moreparts. 300,000 thousand miles later I've replaced cam shaft (aftermarket) blown head gasket (aftermarket) and now I'm having to replace rod and main bearings. None of the parts Dans diesel used were Genuine Cummins parts like he said they would be. Over priced too. Cost me @35,000 for the overhaul and they could never get it to run right. Low power issues they couldn"t find. They wanted to replace turbo and ECM. I had to tell them NO. ABSOLUTELY NO! Also when doing the overhaul they damaged air horn that was mounted outside the frame rails. When i really got a chance to look at the bill I found that the replacement cheap horn they put back on was charged to me and they charged me an hour of labor to install it! So their screw up cost me $200. My opinion is that they couldn't fix a sandwich. NEVER AGAIN would I take anything to DANS diesel

My wifes front passenger tire literally broke off her car as she was pulling over on the interstate…read moreafter she felt something that didn't feel right. I was able to go to her location and change out the studs, but lacked a tall enough jack and lacked the tools to finish the job right at the end. We called family to come help us and they brought more tools than what I had on the site, and somehow still we didn't have enough of the right tools to finish the job to get the car back on the road to drive it home. So we called for service late in the night after spending hours dealing with the situation with everyone tired and just wanting this nightmare to end for us. The gentlemen showed up in short order, which surprised me because he was ahead of the estimated arrival time, he even came well prepared thankfully. Took a look at what the problem was we were facing and grabbed two different small toolboxes and within 10-15 minutes we finally had the car on the road driving away all fixed. Seriously my biggest complaint, I should have just called him sooner and had him come out. I've dealt with lots of mechanics and roadside repair jobs alongside the road over the years, I'm the person everyone I know calls when they have a problem. But this one time I just lacked very specific tools for the job I was faced with, and to my sheer surprise he just happens to carry them as a part of his well pack tool kit. IMPRESSIVE! He was knowledgeable, friendly, honest and seriously well prepared. He asked that we give him a review online, and that is something I agreed I would happily do, because if I ever need to call someone again I'm calling him myself.
