I was shopping for a newly purchased home and planned to buy a couch, a rug, and several other items. At approximately 8:30, I asked an associate how to purchase the couch and arrange delivery. She provided the information, and I continued shopping for a rug. At 8:45, I needed to use the restroom. An associate told me the restrooms were already closed because they had been cleaned and that I could not use them. The store was not closing for another 45 minutes. I then spoke with the manager and explained that I was prepared to spend approximately $1,000 but would have to leave without purchasing anything because I needed to use the restroom. Instead of attempting to resolve the situation, she justified the decision by saying the store closed in 44 minutes and only had four employees working. To be clear, I was not asking for special treatment. I was a paying customer asking to use the restroom during normal business hours. HomeSense chose to let a roughly $1,000 sale walk out the door so I could go across the street to Wawa and use their restroom. I also asked for the district manager's contact information and was refused. Apparently, sales must be so good that this location can turn away customers, close amenities nearly an hour early, and dismiss a significant purchase without concern. This was one of the most unnecessarily frustrating and poorly handled retail experiences I have had. I will be spending my money elsewhere.

I know I wanted a king size memory foam mattress but wasn't interested in the tempurpedic prices you'd see at Brookstone. I suppose they sort of all felt the same to me so I found something comfortable and picked up a bed frame that had storage drawers. Yay for not having to buy a box spring. Both the bed and bed frame had to be ordered and they set the expectation that delivery would be six weeks and it arrived within three. I wasn't in a rush so I didn't mind that what I wanted had to come from another site. One thing that I liked was that they were offering tax-free purchases when I bought everything. The owner inside was friendly and said come on in and take your time. She explained that they had different rooms inside and all were rented out to different vendors who had their own style and items for sale. WIN! Just my kind of shop. We found antiques, glasswares, books, stuffed animals, watercolor art, wall art, furniture, jewelry, beads, geodes, you name it, it's probably in here. We actually stayed for the entire 40 minutes and everyone found something to purchase. The vibe was easy and unassuming and the owner left us to browse without hovering at all. She easily said to go upstairs and take a look as there were some rooms up there too and she stayed at the front while we browsed. It was really awesome going into each room of the house and seeing what products there were being offered. There were pillows, decor, clothing, vintage items of all kinds, vinyl records, jewelry, etc. I guess you could say it's kind of like a flea market in a sense. Definitely a great place for unique finds or gifts!
