I was able to get a lot of items for my daughter's dorm for a great low rate, including a Serna mattress pad for $9, comforter and sheets sets, as well as, throws and rugs! I love this location but it's the one worker that always have an attitude when you go in there. He is a cashier, older black gentleman. He acts as if he does not want to be at work. His attitude sucks and I always pray that I don't get him as a cashier. It does not matter the time or day, he has an attitude. Extremely good prices especially for books. At Ollie's I pay between $1.99-3.99 for a $20 book at Barnes and noble or target. It's insane! However the store itself is not clean or appealing. But I still go there all the time for the books. Can't beat that deal. read more

Wow! First time in an Ollie's and I loved it!! I'm not sure what I was expecting but I was definitely surprised and loved what I found inside. The interior definitely looks old and outdated but with all the bargains I certainly didn't mind! So many books, body products, and cooking ware! They also had a nice aisle of teaching/ homeschooling products! They even had Rachael Ray and Ayesha Curry products!! An Ayesha Curry pan for $9 compared to $40 at Target/Jcpenny! Just watched a tiktok of Ollie's employees refusing to remove an aggressive dog while harassing and making a well trained service dog and handler leave because the handler voiced that an aggressive dog shouldn't be in the store. This place looks like a run down warehouse. Which would be fine if the items they sold here were priced better. They hold a lot of different items (ie. luggage, carpets, stationary, cookware, books). As I was walking up and down each isle, I kept comparing the prices of their items to other stores that sell similar products. For the most part, everything I saw here were anywhere from $0.50 to $10 more expensive. Now if you don't care about loosing 50 cents, that's completely fine. However, I do! Call me cheap, but I rather go somewhere else and get the same thing for less. A lot of these items can be found at Walmart or even the dollar store. If you want to save a bit of money, make sure to shop around some more before purchasing an item from Ollie's. Since I did not go through EVERY single thing nor did I go over their weekly sales ad, there may be certain items that are cheaper here. However, this review is based upon my visit. read more

This is really different. Tried this place on a chance. This one place you will sure to find a bargain. It is hit or miss which causes you to visit very frequent. When doing the bi-weekly shopping, I do try and make this the first stop. Then what i don't find, I hit up the other normal stops. Plenty of parking and the staff is very polite and professional. I have been going to Ollie's since I moved back from Va beach, started shopping Ollie's there. Roanoke, my home town did not have one till I moved back. Have noticed the last couple years, what keeps that store going is the manager, Mii Asia. I bought a refurbished Ninja Foodie Pressure Cooker and it had a scratch on the bowl inside. This thing is super heavy to just be tossing around, but she stayed after hours to go through every box to find a bowl that wasn't scratched and it was much appreciated! I also have seen her in the store working and she is very kind and calm, has great managerial experience! I have been a manager for retail for years, so I know how patient she has to be, great job! read more

I went in looking for some flooring to redo the cat's bathroom. Yes it sounds absurd but either way, an employee named Frank went above and beyond to help me locate exactly what I needed and also personally rang me out and walked me to the car and loaded it in the trunk for me. On top of that he was very tuned in and noticed somebody with a full on mask over his head and face on a walkie-talkie towards the end of the night. We both found that very weird and... concerning. Ollie's will definitely be a store I'll be frequenting more often! When I walked in I was amazed at the prices of a lot of the goods. Items you'd find in Walmart, grocery stores, and Home Depot/Lowes are basically half the price! They sell everything from books, household cleaning items, flower pots of different sizes, clothes, luggage, lawn fertilizer, rugs, mattresses, etc. I was overwhelmed when I was perusing through the store & spent a lot more than I had expected (on things I needed of course!). You'll see on some of my pics the prices. For certain products, I'll only return here & pay a lot less than Ollie's competitors. Oh, and to anyone who coupons, they do not accept them here. They do have an Ollie's rewards card. Be sure to sign up for that. read more

At this point I am refusing to ever go in this store again. Every encounter has been extremely frustrating and somewhat ridiculous. The past two occasions, I only went in for one item. The lines are always huge due to only one cashier working. After standing in line for ten minutes I finally put back the item and left. The cashier was insanely unprofessional both in appearance and communication. She was barely moving with no sense of urgency whatsoever - it literally took her 20 seconds to get a shopping bag to open. In addition, she pressured the people in front of me to sign up for an Ollies club account, which she also did insanely slow, with no regard to the long line she had. At that point I just left. It has been this way nearly every visit to this store and I won't be returning. read more

Great prices on Christmas lights and decor! And their book selection is amazing for really low prices. Also lots of art supplies cheap. Had to wait in line for over 20 minutes because they only had 1 cashier. There was a cashier nearby that watched the line grow to over 10 people then she finally open her lane up. The Wolfchase area store manager was very helpful from the time we entered until we left. I received a 15% coupon via email and when I used it, it stated that the coupon was used. Wow. A trip through Ollie's is like going through a very large garage sale. There are all kinds of interesting items to be found in here... bent frying pans, old school tape answering machines, bizarre knock-off board games, a whole assortment of various detritus from 80s and 90s warehouse overflow. This is at once amusing and vaguely creepy, and I always feel like I'm walking out of my Aunt's house with the weird doll collection and strange, children's LPs. Okay, that's laying it on a bit thick. They do have a good selection of carpeting at decent prices (oddly), and a strangely impressive assortment of furniture. But let's face it, Ollie's is mostly filled with old junk that most people don't want. Unfortunately, the prices really aren't that much lower than what you'd find at WalMart. In fact, in some cases it seemed worse than WalMart, noticeably so. And that's why, overall, I can only give Ollie's 2 Stars, only for it's weird nostalgic charm I think. read more

So, Ollie's is a random kind of place. They're a discount store that carries other stores' leftovers. Kinda like Overstock.com but without the creepy woman in the ads. This is the first place you should go when you need a rug, lightbulbs, novelty yarn, cleaning supplies, candles, pots & pans, pillows, coffee pots, nearly expired canned goods, ironing boards...you get my point. Everything is sold at a deep discount, but you don't know what you're going to find. Don't walk in and ask a cashier where the _____ are cause my feeling is she won't even know if they've got them. The best part of Ollie's, though, is the book section. The selection is wide and as long as you don't have a specific book in mind, you'll find something for a fraction of what you'd pay at a real bookstore. I walked out with Nanotechnology for Dummies. For the most part the store is clean and a few odd items out of place. You really have to take your chances on the items. All their electronic appliances a re refurbished. I took my chances with a coffee maker and a toaster oven. Both of them did not work. It was a hassle having to repack and bring them back. Their food items you take a chance with as well. Some items are tasty and fresh but others are old and not even worth bringing back. My biggest pet peeve with this Hampton location is attitude with the cashiers. Not helpful, rude and have their own interest at heart. Really is sad. I've been to the one in Gloucester Virginia and they are so friendly and welcoming. read more

Wow, what a great place for bargain shopping. I also love the fact that they have hit coffee brewing all day to get you amped of for all your savings. I went with a couple other people and wasn't really looking to buy anything, until I saw a metal trowel for 99 cents. This place is great for anything from a nice novel to your round-up weedkiller. Saving money is easy here, just shop and watch the savings at check out. The ollies near my house in Maryland could definitely learn a thing from this location. Two things that could make this a 5 star review is increasing staffing, checkout time seemed a bit long, and while I wasn't in much of a rush and euphoric from saving some money other customers seemed agitated. I would also recommend getting the homeless beggar by the entrance off the property. read more

Ollie's reminds me of a Roses or of a Big Lots or anywhere else where the lighting is bad and there is cheap stuff everywhere. Now, I'm sure if you searched around for an hour or two you could find some awesome bargains in this store, however I spent about 20 minutes looking and found nothing. In fact I thought things here were definitely priced too high overall, considering the quality. The store definitely has a warehouse type setting, everything is pretty bare bones as far as decor and set up. Most aisles are jam packed with crap and I HATE that. They have your basic department store type stuff; rugs, bedroom decor and accessories, bathroom decor, small furniture, some clothing, kitchen supplies etc. I couldn't find anything worth buy though, especially with the high pricing. In fact in one of their clearance sections there was a mouse for sell for $5, marked down from $10 with a disclaimer on the package saying, 'Mouse Doesn't Work'. So anywhere that is going to charge me $5 for a non-working mouse is a place I'm only going to visit once. read more

I went to the one in Lansing MI, never again. The cart wouldn't fit in between the aisles, it was so messy. I was looking at towels, and they were just shoved in there, what a mess. They sure don't walk around and neaten up the place. I got in line, a man waltzed in from the door and jumped ahead of me to make a return. After a few minutes of the clerk not knowing how to do it, he called over the other clerk at the only other register. So there was NO register to go to. All in all I was there JUST to check out over 15 minutes, and I was next in line. Apparently ALL lanes do returns, but only one person has the PIN so h as to run back and forth, leaving her line of customers? No prices are that good. read more

It's one of those stores where they get their stuff from other stores that are closing or whatever. I go there often just to check out what they have that day. I like the book section.
