Absolutely love Gabe's. It's a "get what you pay for" kind of store-- meaning that the super cheap prices sometimes come with less cleanliness, longer lines, and damaged items. HOWEVER, you can find absolute gems here for a tiny fraction of the original cost. They have a surprisingly large baby clothes section compared to many other stores. The service is not always very friendly, but I just go in not expecting to strike up a casual convo with the cashiers. read more

Shopped yesterday with my grandson for school and saw a sign that they offer military discounts on Tuesday. I asked if they could hold my car FULL till today and the MANAGER said yes, asked that I put my name and number in cart. So today I return and all my things we had in the cart had been put back. No call after leaving our number. We spoke to a manager who said they can't hold items. I asked why we were told different she couldn't tell me. My friends who live in the South have told me tales of a mythical land known as "Rugged Wearhouse" where they buy J Crew sweaters for $15 and Anthropologie cast-offs for under $10. When I found out there was a store by the same people not only in Cincinnati, where I was stuck for work, but minutes from my hotel I couldn't grab my keys and credit card and hit the road fast enough. I walked in the door and...Oh. My. God. Adorable summer dresses, $9.99! Ann Taylor Loft skirts, 2 for $10. Miss Sixty jeans, three freaking dollars!!!! The fitting room brought me back down to earth a bit. Those no name dresses? Crappy quality, though still amazing for $10. The ATL skirt? Short and weird. The Miss Sixty jeans? So "skinny jean" skinny I couldn't pull them over my thighs. So yeah, reality triumphs over legend. That being said, I can totally see how you could get amazing deals here if you timed your visit right. This is really one of those places you have to shop often. Sadly, I'm about six hours too far away to "shop often", but I'll try to drop by here whenever I'm in Cincy. read more

Gabriel brothers is one of my go to stores if I am looking for namebrand clothes for a cheap price. With that said, it is a treasure hunt. You have to be in the mood to pick through racks and deal with dirty floors and a not so very neat store. Almost every time I have been there, there have been kids running through the aisles and screaming. In all honesty, I am sure the low prices attract a different quality of people, and it is near a poor part of Sharonville (just being honest). I say all of that to say that if you are okay with the above situations and it is worth getting a good deal on clothes, then the store is for you. I am giving them a two based on their cleanliness and customer service, however. Almost every time I am there, there is only one register open. Usually the line is backed up pretty far. It is a little disheartening to see other employees in the store standing around but not working the register. This last time, I left all the items I was going to purchase because I could not afford to stand 20 minutes in the line waiting to check out. read more

Gabriel Brothers is based out of West Virginia, but not many people seem to know about the two discount retail stores in Cincinnati. While I've never been to the one out in Anderson Township, I just made it to the one in Sharonville after hearing about it a couple times before. Gabe's gives shoppers a selection of name brand items at "up to 70-percent off department stores" prices, although right now there is a 50-percent summer clearance sale on the already off-price items. Gabe's has clothing items for all ages and sizes with departments including Men's, Ladies, Boys, Girls, Lingerie, Plus Sizes, Big and Tall, and Active Wear, as well as Home Furnishings. Everything really is cheaper as I saw men's neck ties for $1.99 and $2.99, Nike t-shirts for $7.99, Crocs for just $12.99, and even greeting cards selling at two for 88 cents. I spent most of my time in the Active Wear section after hearing about their selection of football jerseys. Their NFL jerseys are priced at 17 and 20 bucks, as a result of them not being able to be sold in the top sporting good stores. You can see why many are at this discount store as I saw jerseys with misprints, off-centered numbers or simply no numbers at all on the backs. Others, however, besides being a bit wrinkled and maybe not in completely tip-top shape, looked almost undistinguishable from something you would see at Champ's or Dick's. I saw a Tom Brady jersey that looked perfect other than a slight fade in the Patriots logo, while a couple of the Chad Johnson and T.J. Houshmandzadeh jerseys looked normal too. Whether you want purses, home décor items, socks, college and NBA t-shirts, shoes, jeans, or anything else fashion or accessory-related, Gabriel Brothers has it. While they don't have the highest quality of clothing items, you can really save a lot if you choose to go Gabe's. If you are just buying a pair of socks or cheap athletic shorts, or don't wish to spend $70.00 on a football jersey, head out to Sharonville (or Anderson) and shop at Gabriel Brothers. read more

Gabriel Brothers is a pretty great store overall. I was able to find a pair of jeans priced at an astounding $5, a cardigan for just $3, and a 3 pair pack of socks for $2.99; I mean the prices are just unbelievable here! Most everything is ridiculously cheap compared to well-known department stores. However, you do have to make sure you get here at just the right time of year because their selection changes regularly and the right clothing sizes for your body can be really hard to find sometimes. So it you go at the wrong time, you will miss out. So yes, the store is not perfect but it is a fairly clean and well-stocked store with an great selection of apparel, decorations, household items, and even food items. There should be a little bit of something for everyone expect for the most finicky of people. I will definitely be back soon. read more

Why do I love Gabe Bros? Because they have cute plus size clothing (and tons of straight sizes too) that is affordable. $20 dresses! Shirts for $10! Tank tops for $5! There is stuff that is more expensive, but there is plenty that is in this range. What are the drawbacks with stuff coming do cheap? -some stuff is out of season(do I need a wool dress in August? No, but I'll be glad to have it come January) -some things are incorrectly sized (it's sometimes easier to figure out how big the piece of clothing is in front of the mirror versus by what the label says) - some things are stained or ripped - clothes are grouped together in the TJ Maxx method, where you have a rack filled with stuff, but you can't necessarily find the exact item you want in a size smaller or larger. These things aren't an issue for me because this is a place where I enjoy the hunt for a bargain(versus needing to get specific items) and I go in knowing I might try on 10 things and only get 1. read more

When I lived in Charlotte we had the sister company to this place called Rugged Wearhouse, and I LOVED it. When I moved back to Cincy I was really bummed to leave that store behind because I found some incredible deals. One day while cruising around I passed this place and wondered what it was. Finally after many drive bys, I decided to check it out. HOLY WOW. I only had about a half an hour, and you could spend hours upon hours in this place. I swear it was like I was on punked with all the amazing deals at great prices, and not a shopping cart in site. I ran through grabbing clothes off hangers and kicking a box of shoes through the store because my hands were full, and minutes were ticking away.. I tried on all of my finds with those sassy $7 shoes, and I felt like a bombshell who had just robbed the bank. I walked out of there with new clothes for work for under $50. Are you serious??? I didn't realize I had the other version of Rugged Wearhouse in my own back yard all these years. Who knew moving away could open my eyes to such awesome places? If you're thrifty like me, and always looking for a bargain, this is your spot. You just need to come back often for the best finds. Sometimes it can be hit or miss, but it's a fantastic store, with clothes for men, women and children, house wares, food, etc. I even purchased birthday cake flavored oreo cookies once! Tasty! I would give them 5 stars but I just don't like the location. SUCH great deals, but I wish that every time I went in there weren't trashy people and kids screaming. I love Gabriel brothers and this one is decently clean and organized. Some Gabe's can be in run down areas and look the part but I believe this one was a step above those. I found a nice pair of dress shoes for $20 which made my day. The lines weren't too long here and it was easy to find what I needed. This Gabes is fine but the on on Beechmont Ave is far better. This store is not kept up very well. Stuff is on the floor and staff doesn't seem to be able to handle the traffic to keep it up. The other store is cleaner and better organized. It's also faster to checkout across town. Love, love this place for random bargains at rock-bottom prices. It's definitely hit or miss though. Some days I've found shipments of True Religion jeans for $49, Juicy Couture for $10 to $25, etc, Anthropologie and Urban Outfitters stuff for under $15. Other tops I've gotten for under $5. I've no idea how their shipments are organized. Right now the women's department is dominated by Ann Taylor items...$9.99 for all blazers, 7.99 for all pants, 6 and under for tops, blouses. If you're someone who loves brand names but doesn't want to pay retail price for them, you have to come shop here. I find so many designer names every time I come. Especially higher end. They just rolled out a rewards card too so you'll earn points and be able to use coupons off your purchases. I just accumulated two $5 off $25 purchase. I was in the Sharonville store and found some Easter Bunnies that I wanted but there was no price tag on them. I asked an associate how much they were, she said $.99 and she gave me a bag of plastic eggs to take to the register so they could use the scu number to ring them up. When I got up there, the manager refused to sell them to me and said the they were $4.99 and there was not a price tag on them. I left an entire cart full and walked out!! Bad business Gabes!!! I have worked in retail for years and this entire situation was not handled well at all. They lost a $200.00 sale due to this small incident. there are some great deals here, but the closest store to me is 30 minutes away. So today i wanted to call and ask a SIMPLE QUESTION. I wanted to know if they carried any papasan cushions before i drove 60 miles for no reason. My review is not about the store itself; I have no problem with the merchandise selection or prices. It's a great place to buy kids clothing. My complaint is concerning the rude, disrespectful, antagonistic cashier that I experienced today. Not only was she rude and disrespectful to me and the other customers, she spoke rudely to her MANAGER, whom we called to handle the situation. She made it perfectly clear that 'she was going home, she had two babies', yet she continued to pick and choose who she wanted to wait on, instead of respecting the customers in line. I'm not old by any means, but I am old enough to remember that discourteous behavior by employee to customers, especially to a manager, resulted in firing. The manager did NOTHING, and did not even offer an apology to me or the others inconvenienced. The other two cashiers were mortified and embarrassed. I love this store and have found amazing deals there in every department. I usually shop the one in Cincinnati's west side but I was in the Sharonville store last Friday and did not have a good experience. I had over $100 worth of merchandise and I wanted to use (2) $5 discount coupons. I had already been in line to return something, then did my shopping and now back in line to purchase. This was a Friday evening and only (2) cashiers working. One at the return desk and one as a cashier. Evidently the one running check out was new. Now, I have tolerance for someone learning a new job, but this was ridiculous! She needed assistance but there was none. First she couldn't get my rewards card to scan, then she rang up all my items without taking my coupons off. Then I handed her a check and she said "Oh no, a check!" The other lady came over a couple of times to help but she was also busy running the return desk. Anyway, the return lady came over and told me there was no way for them to take my coupons off after the sale was totaled out. I voiced my displeasure and she said OK, just pay the total and she would adjust it somehow. Then the new girl could not get my check to go through. She had to try about 6 times before it took it. Actually, I felt sorry for her. Then I had to get back in the return line to get my adjustment. The lady had to return some of the items in order to be able to re-ring them and deduct the coupons. What a mess! She apologized but I had not intended to spend the night in Gabes! Your bargains are wonderful but your customer services leave a lot to be desired.
