This is a giant discount store and if you take the time to look around, you're bound to find some stellar deals. I've been coming to this Gabes for years and I have to give a well-rounded 3 star. First, don't use the restrooms here unless it's an emergency. Seriously, it's not worth it. Go before you arrive or hold it. Your welcome! Secondly, the staff is helpful and friendly. You'll be greeted as you walk in and thanked for your visit as you leave. Another thing to note is that the line for the register can get pretty long, even on a random Tuesday in May, just be prepared. The deals are definitely the best part! On my last visit I snagged an awesome 5x7 rug for $30. I saw the same rug at other places for at least double the price - score! You can always find some cheap clothes and shoes; more often than not you'll find designer brands for really low prices. They may be from last years line but who cares! Hit or miss store. you can find some rest name brand items at affordable prices but the store is like a box of chocolates... you never know what you're going to get. Gabes is a fabulous store when you're looking for a deal. Think Odd Lots but with a much larger selection of clothes and home goods. What really makes this discount store shine is their name brand clothing. They carry a large amount of big brand athletic clothing AND shoes like Nike, Addidas, Reebok, & New Balance. They also carry lots of clothing from Express, Old Navy, and plus-size retailers such as Lane Bryant and Catherine's. They also carry name brand bags like Vera Bradley and Ann Taylor. Great selection of bras, shape wear, scrubs, dresses, children's clothing, and shoes. I do tons of shopping here for home decor like rugs and pillows. You can also score great deals on some home, cleaning, and body products. They carry discount items that are not name brand as well. It's very affordable for any budget. It's almost like a low cost TJ Maxx. Word to the wise though, some items are "irregular" or damaged, though not all. Just look at clothing well before you buy. :) read more

The staff were awesome. The lines were very long but moved so quick having all lines open they are prepared. The greeters cleaning the carts and the cashier was so friendly. I couldn't have gotten a better customers service. It will be a pleasure to return. read more

Love this place. When I'm in town I have to stop here. Hubby is on board now as well. A store kind of like Ross. That's unusual for him to want to go shopping. My whole family loves Gabe's! It's one of those stores you can find so many items in. The reason I'm giving it a 2 Star is because of the bathrooms!!!!! I'm being nice by 2! They were absolutely disgusting; the smell was horrible and for being a department store I know they have air fresheners or something. They recently just renovated the whole store and it looks great but it was like they left the bathrooms completely out of the renovation. There was no ventilation what so ever. Other than that I bought a cute express jacket last time I was there and I love it! It's a great place to find rugs and even discounted Nike and timberlands. Like I said we love Gabe's but they have to do something about the bathroom at this location. I love Gabe's in general, but people in this specific store in this town called Zanesville was especially good with service. The store was extremely busy at the time I went, but management was on top of it getting people what they need to be happy on their way out the door! I especially had an awesome experience with Mary who works at the fitting area! She was super helpful and gave me advice to help better my shopping experience! And she was extremely friendly, and her service was exceptional! Thanks Gabe's for always providing good clothes for low costs and hiring amazing employees. Very rude customer service! They get 1 Star cause I can't give them a zero! My girlfriend bought a pair of boots for my son a few days ago for his birthday, when we gave them to him he tried them on and they don't fit also we realized they are two different shades in color. She went back in to exchange them and was told they didn't have any other sizes. She asked for her money back and was told she could get a gift card, when she agreed a second clerk told her that didn't have any. Then the two women started to laugh cause they boots were different color and told my girlfriend she was out of luck and they couldn't do anything about it. She asked to see a manager and was told she wasn't there. My girlfriend insisted they make it right and the women got very rude, laughed in her face and told her to bad and to leave the store. My girlfriend again asked then to make it right and was told to leave or they would call the police. As my girlfriend was leaving the women laughed and said some inappropriate comments behind her back! read more
