From the start of…read moreour apartment tour, Sarah (the leasing coordinator) appeared disengaged and provided minimal information about the building. She walked us through quietly and gave short, one-word responses to our questions. Although her lack of professionalism was discouraging, we had been planning to move to The Sofia for a long time and did not want it to affect our decision. Prior to the tour, we had discussed rental rates with Sarah, and she agreed-- in writing-- to lock in a specific price for us. After the viewing, however, she only allowed us five hours to complete the application. Despite the rushed timeframe, we proceeded, as we had been waiting for an opening at The Sofia. When reviewing the application, we noticed that Sarah had sent us paperwork for a different unit than the one we toured. We immediately reached out to her before the offer expired, but received no response. She ignored our calls, and we eventually went to the leasing office in person the next morning to resolve the issue. At that time, Sarah informed us that the price had changed and insisted it was too late to correct the error--even though it was SHE who sent us the wrong apartment application in the first place and there was nothing we could have done to fix it from our end. This experience was unprofessional and left us feeling misled and dismissed, particularly given our clear interest in the building and good-faith efforts to move forward. It's safe to say this felt purposeful and it's so sad that something like this was allowed by the property manager.

With now less amenities in the building, and the same rent, the building manager (Andrea) justifies the expenses by saying "you're not paying for the pool". Which, as a tenant for 2 years now, is a big bummer to here from building management. If you want a building with a pool, I would caution living here as this was taken away and tenants do not know when (or if) it will be available again. For people looking for an apartment in Miami: a pool is a *MUST* to deal with the heat. If I get an update on pool timing I'll update this post. If it's not updated, it's safe to assume tenants have not been updated.

Ditto for Trader Joe's and Life Time or other gyms. It is true that there are rules implemented by management; however, I do believe they are necessary and practical to ensure the safety and tidiness of the building. I was helped by the Yadrian from management office to reserve the moving elevator and was able to find a suitable moving company for the process with his recommendations. My move in experience was very easy and structured especially with the help from Fernando who works at the front desk. Even before I moved in, when I was visiting the building and the office, Fernando has always been very nice and respectful. So far, all the staff I've encountered has been very friendly and great at their job. The building very clean and well maintained.

They never told me exactly what I need to do to not be charged. They also charge $500 if you pay rent 1 day late; even if their website is down. HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO PAY RENT WHEN THEIR WEBSITE IS DOWN?! They took my security deposit and now are trying to charge me thousands more for leaving a TENNIS BALL in the apartment. Now onto the serious stuff: my friend Lily lives there and they messed up her AC and has nearly $70,000 in damages from mold that was caused from their stupidity. This place is going to be shut down soon likely; it's not worth living here. Sakura is the most rude person I have EVER spoken to, she is a liar and a fraud.

A package got delivered by mistake to the address at The Mile recently, we called multiple times and no one answered the phone. Finally after digging through IG we found an alternate number. The manager, Christopher, was extremely rude and dismissive. Leaving us no choice but to go to the apartment to show that the package had been delivered there and solve the issue amicably. We simply asked for him to go check the mail room to confirm if the package was indeed there, considering it is an expensive item. He flat out refused to get up from his desk and was condescending and lacked simple decency. Maybe he should try finding a job where he doesn't need to deal with people, as that clearly isn't his calling. For all we know he stole the package for himself and refuses to help. We will escalate further with FEDEX and Willow Management as there was no amicable resolution. Can't imagine what the tenants have to go through with this guy at the manager.

Every time I go to visit the check in process is easy and the front desk team is very nice. Elevators are a bit too slow and often get stuck + some of the hallways seem to be not well kept but other than that the building is very nice. At the hottest time of the year everyone in the building had to do stairs, with some residents living as high as the 8th floor! It was a work out in itself managing the flights each at the conclusion of my work day. Thankfully, we aren't that high, but when you add to that a 30 lb toddler, groceries, or whatever else you might have to make the trek twice just to get your essentials taken home, then it is a lot. If you had any physical disability, age, then you were simple S.O.L. In 2018, the elevators were out nearly an equal amount of time, which essentially displaced nearly all the seniors. Unfortunately, one old lady, whom I was not fond of but she liked our little one, came to an untimely death during this stressful elevator outage by stepping onto US1 as she was struck by oncoming traffic. It's probably no coincidence then that the average age of the occupants has markedly decreased. The costs of this maintenance of the elevators, fire safety project which required a few trips into our apartment to install a modern day fire alarm system, and continuing renovations of the vacated units, are being passed on to customers with double digit increases in rent. Not the customary rent hikes. This past week the hot water boiler went out at the start of winter. It was 50-60 degrees out and residents had to make due showering in similar conditions! Whether it's the intent of this apartment management to embolden or strengthen its residents this way, perhaps it will do so, or perhaps you just need to think of this as the ultimate place to live you WOD. The location is still great tho, but you never know what you'll get one week to the next in this old building.

Not just that, there is an endless amount of things to do when you live so close to a mall. It's right near the South Miami Metrorail stop, right near US1 making it close driving distance to almost anywhere. And only 5-10 minutes from the University of Miami. But about the apartment. I have to say I have only been in the Villas, and they aren't too bad. They also have the Towers and Apartments, run by the same people. The tower is the one in the picture and the Apartments are a pretty coral. Both of those have balconies, unlike the Villas which are a bit small, but cozy. And like I always tell myself, the smaller the better, means less to clean! It's an old building so it has some problems, like old appliances and rumors of mold. The good thing is that since its old, the walls are really thick. Except for the doors, where you can hear everyone in the hall, especially the neighbor that has been singing at 2am lately. There are alot of students and single people that live here. About the management, the maintenance is great - they will fix anything that breaks immediately. I am so glad they switched landladies! Parking is difficult, you can only imagine the visitors we get on the weekends plugging up the lot. And the guest parking is always full regardless of day. But other than that, it's cheap and affordable and everything I was looking for in an apartment.

I moved out 3 months ago and the buildings owner refuses to give me back my security deposit $3250. I spoke to the property manager who no longer represents them and he told me the money was owed to me. I have receipts throughout our conversation where he admitted he owed it to me and said he would send it out right away but that was a lie. Now I have hired an attorney to get it back. Stay tuned
