Our little one enjoyed all of the various adventures and spaces in this area, and we will definitely be back several times over. My only thing is that it needs some maintenance and tidying up; I'm not sure how old it is (again, new to us despite us having a child for three years now), but there is definitely a good bit of wear and tear and some update that is needed to really make it spectacular. But it's definitely great!

From eating from food trucks to shooting zombies from military trucks, you'll have a blast. There are two different prices for the Zombie Paintball Hayride. For $20 you can ride in the trailer or for $25 you can ride in the truck. We opted for riding in the military truck because it seemed much cooler. It turned out that there is another reason to pay the extra $5 and ride in the truck. There hasn't been any rain to speak of lately and the when the truck is driving on dirt roads it's covering the people in the trailer with dust. Pay the extra $5 if it doesn't rain before you go. The Haunted Trail is very good as far as a haunted trail goes. I am not scared of "zombies" but I HATE having to go through structures where I can not see or have to feel my my through them. The people playing the zombie roles were really great. A shout out and thank you to the awesome zombie that led me out of the labyrinth at the end!!! I LOVE YOU!!! I got stuck and got a little panicky. To keep me from climbing over or kicking down a wall, he led me to the doorway. There is a lot to do here and you really need to check it out if you like or love Halloween! Another note you MUST try Miss Birdsong's Sweet Tooth's candy or caramel apples! Delish! She has a booth set up on the way path to the haunted events. Look for review (I'll be posting right after this one).

But I feel like I need to point this out…read moreabout their water park rules and charges, since that's the only real issue I have with the park at all. I originally posted this to Facebook hoping the park would pay attention, and lots of folks have agreed with me this is not only a crazy rule, but a potentially dangerous one. I am literally copying and pasting what I posted to Facebook originally because I do not have the time to write multiple reviews of places for free =)! Excellent, BUT they really need to clarify the water park rules! I paid $5 for my 6 year old son to play, but when I went in to sit and watch him, I was told I was also supposed to pay $5. However, he didn't make me go back to pay, but made other parents go back. I love Shelby Farms and we go all the time, but I'm very disappointed they charge parents to simply go in and supervise their kids in the water park. It seems fairer to either charge just for the child or not charge at all, since most water parks in public places do not charge a fee. It is a great water park and we do want to go back, but $10 for less than an hour of playing is a bit much compared to other, free public water parks. But if it's required to pay, the desk needs to be on the same page as the park in that regard. Otherwise, we still love the park, just have clear and consistent rules.

The property manager and leasing agent are friendly, responsive to the needs of the tenants, and above all else, they are professionals. The maintenance staff is small but they are very efficient and effective experts in resolving all property concerns without wasting time. They are all truly great representatives for this property. I am a person who has maintained my own home for more than 30 years. When I decided to downsize to apartment living, I was in need of an environment that closely resembled what I was used to as a homeowner; privacy, safety on the ground floor, lots of windows, spacious rooms, fenced-in access to my backyard, walkway to my front door w/my own doorbell, and secure parking. A great plus for me was the garbage service they provide that picks up at my door every Wednesday without my having to remember to drag garbage cans to the curb on garbage pick up day. What a relief not to have to manage that anymore. The grounds are beautifully kept for all of our enjoyment without my having to lift a finger to make it possible. The property maintains a pool, tennis court and a playground that can be enjoyed by my grandchildren when they come to visit. Best of all, I have felt completely safe since my very first night here. It is a small community of people who have resided here for years and though I haven't met them all, because of the cold and rainy weather, my closest neighbors have already proved that they have my back. I look forward to taking walks through the winding paths of this small complex to meet even more of my neighbors. I was also encouraged to find out that many of the staff, including maintenance and security staff live right here within the complex. I think it speaks volumes about the kind of place this is when people want to live where they work. I am happy to have a place in this community and so would you be if you were somehow blessed enough to get a spot here. Triple A living!
