I have been to this salon in the past and had Lauren as my stylist and she was great. Lauren left and I moved on to a different salon. I decided to give Gadzooks another try with a different stylist. What a mistake. My stylist Lindsay was shown a picture and asked to give me chunky highlights. I walked out with a head full of brassy blonde hair. She basically bleached my entire head. Lindsay tried once to correct my color and in the end I ended having Victoria take me back to my natural dark brown color. My hair ended up over processed and damaged. I will never go back. The only reason I'm giving this salon 2 stars is because the owner Tony refunded my money for the horrible job Lindsay did on my hair. My hair will take years to repair after going to this salon. I've been coming here for a little over a year. I'm really on the fence if I want to keep coming back. I like my stylist but I'm not sure I'm getting a very good value here anymore. The pros: amazing foil highlights, styles are modern and cut VERY well, facility is clean and modern. The cons: the cost seems to be ever-escalating here. I went in for a quick trim (literally only had 1/2 inch taken off the back, and cleaned up some minor split ends) which took less than 15 minutes. I have short hair. I was charged 40 bucks. Considering they list "trims" and "bang shaping" at a lower price, I have no idea what this was all about. I got a wash as well and figured that was the reason behind the $40. Oh well, live and learn. Cut looks good, but not sure it was worth that. I'll come back here for specialty coloring and highlighting service should I wish to do that in the future. Hands down, it's worth the money. But for regular trims, sorry, I'm not shelling out $50 with tip for my short, simple haircut. As an aside, you need to have cash or check ready for tip. You CANNOT add it to the receipt similar to tips in a restaurant. read more

Pretentious salon; no one offered a beverage despite apparent upscale atmosphere. I wanted a pixie crop, brought a picture of Emma Watson with fringed bangs. Lisete was unable to capture the cut on my fine straight hair. Cut my bangs straight across; was in a rush so came back a week later for her to fix it. She again cut the bangs straight across. Beside the bangs; style had no shape. My 9 year old also got her hair cut on the same day and her long hair 10 inch hair was cut so uneven in the back (actually a 3" difference in hair length and lots of split ends remains. Lisete is an "artistic" stylist; which translates to one of the most expensive stylists in the salon. Highlights she gave me were extremely dry; they actually felt sticky when I shampooed; bought there overpriced shampoo hoping it would help but it didn't; Also left side of head had almost no highlights while right side of head had lots. One of the worst cut & color experiences I've ever paid $150.00 for. Have had a better experience at Holiday Hair. Sorry you can't choose 0 stars! STAY AWAY!!!! read more

We have been going to Gadzooks for years and cannot day enough about their thoroughness regarding the virus. Even before the virus affected our lives, Gadzooks was always so professional and accommodating to any of our needs, concerns and times to get our haircuts. I broke my arm in June and have gone back when we were allowed. Tony and the staff were very helpful with meeting my needs so everything could go smoothly which it did and still does each visit. All their products are great to use and my hair is always so healthy. Great place and friendly and warm atmosphere. read more

I have FINALLY found "my salon" since moving to lehigh valley in 2011. I tried many salons in the area but was never quite satisfied until I went to Gadzooks. Monica did my cut and highlights. She was so easy to talk to and took the time to understand exactly what I wanted. She was honest with her opinions, which I always appreciate in a stylist. I've gone to this salon on several occasions but have gotten bored with my stylist who is terrified to suggest or try anything new. It may be time to put her out to pasture! She is happy to try to trap you into her pyramid scheme side business though! I guess she isn't getting paid enough as a crappy stylist! The fact that this place is over priced would not bother me if they were capable of doing decent hair. I have since moved on to a quality stylist and am ecstatic with the results. read more

I love this place! But, as others have said, it's expensive, and that's why I'm now trying other options. I went to Krystal, and she does an absolutely amazing job. She's quick with highlighting, and that's a task with my head of hair, as I have a lot. She does a great job with cuts as well - I've never left unhappy. Also, in the past I always went home to fix my hair before going out in public. After going to Krystal, I would leave feeling like I look like a million bucks. My only complaint is the price. And agree - that for the price you pay, you should be offered a drink. The last place I went to wasn't anything fancy - paid $85 (not including tip) and was offered coffee/water. read more

It's a Bumble & Bumble salon - hands down the best hair products out there. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. When my regular stylist moved to Virginia, heartbroken as I was, I switched to Ashley. I had Adrienne do my hair, foil highlights and it has always turns out super good. Originally I wanted to go blonde, but I went along with foils instead due to price and maintenance of having my hair dyed. Adrienne is very gentle with my hair which tangles easily so i was very pleased with her and she also introduced me to hair painting which looks amazing. The price was decent, around 90 dollars for a whole head of highlights and I have very long hair! I only had one issue, which is when I switched stylists. I scheduled with Gina because Adrienne wasn't available and this new stylist did nothing for my hair. I got highlights retouched and I came out looking the same as I came in. I emailed the owner Tony, and he was very prompt and respectful and I was able to get my hair redone with Adrienne for no cost, so I really appreciated how he handled the situation. read more

Went in for a haircut on 12/2 around 12:30 and honestly can say that I have never recv'd a haircut that I was more unhappy with than the one recv'd yesterday. I told the girl to only trim about 1/2 to 1 inch off the back does she listen nooooo. took about 2 1/2 inches off length. I expressed how I hated my haircut when she was done her response was sorry can not do a thing about it- There is no one that has the time to correct it and no manager available but your bill is 45.00 . I had to cancel my plans out with my friends because I have never been so upset. One of the stylist there was even concerned how can you charge her when she hates it. I liked my stylist, and had no problem with the prices, until one fateful Thursday afternoon. She had been doing my color and cutting my hair for about 6 months, and I left work early to get a cut so my hair would look nice for a wedding that I was going to be in that Saturday. I showed up for my appointment, and the people at the desk told me that my stylist was not there, they thought she was no longer with them, and that another stylist was going to cut my hair. I was basically stuck at that point. I had taken time off of work and was crunched for time, had gotten lots of good cuts there, and my boss had, too, so I figured I might as well go ahead and let her cut my hair, rather than have my hair be a shaggy mess for the wedding. Long story short, the stylist butchered my hair, cut it in choppy, uneven layers that looked horrible. The front looked okay, but she really didn't even show me the back. The next day, when I washed it and realized what was going on back there, I called the salon and asked if I could come back and get someone to look at it and possibly tweak it, they argued back with me and told me I was happy with it when I left the previous evening. I was not even asking for my money back, a free haircut or anything, I just wanted it to be fixed! So off I went to another high-end salon in a panic. They fixed it. If you are the kind of person who likes to find a stylist and stick with them, have a relationship, this is not your place. Something bad goes on there that makes their stylists leave constantly. They do sell good hair products, though. read more

I've had 3 stylists in 4 years due to the first two leaving. It's not what I think of when I think of a salon. They charge you for water which is ridiculous! The service could definitely be better. I like the bumble and bumble products but I think it's time to find a different salon. read more

Maybe your experience at Gadzooks depends on your stylist, but I absolutely look forward to coming here every other month. I always get a cut and color with Callie, and I trust her to the point where I just tell her to do whatever she wants with my hair--I let her make suggestions and I always love my hair when she's done. Gadzooks is expensive, but you get what you pay for. I moved out of the area years ago and tried 3 other "upscale" salons and no one could match Callie's skill. I now gladly drive 45 minutes for my hair appointments at Gadzooks. As a bonus, they sell Bumble & Bumble hair products, which are the best I have ever used. The products are pricey, but so worth it. I only gave 4 stars because it's true that not everyone in the salon is super friendly, but the service is still good. True story that you cannot put a tip on your credit card, but there are many salons like that so can't judge based on that. read more

Mary Bowser does my hair and she is wonderful! She takes the time to listen and she knows how to cut and color. I get compliments all the time as a result. And she's fun and knowledgeable too so I always feel more stylish and happier when I leave. Yes, it's expensive, but it's a splurge I'm willing to make because she helps me look my best. I book several months in advance so that I can stick with her, but I've had great results with Gina too. I've also seen Mary cut the hair of children, young women, and men, and everyone goes away satisfied. There's never a problem with parking, and the salon is right near both Talbots and Panera. What's not to like?!?? read more
