    Murakami's painting of Van Gogh

Did you know that there are three Gagosian art galleries? Two I have been two in a span of two days. The third one is undergoing renovations. Today I went to the gallery on West 21st Street to view the Takashi Murakami exhibit. The paintings, both large and small, were infused in color and rich detail. It was enjoyable and I looked at several paintings with delight. The famous fish poster is being sold for $100. It wouldn't fit in my apartment but I can visit Gagosian and see this fine exhibit till July 11th. The front desk kindly kept my backpack so I could go around unfettered. Water bottles are to be put in bags before viewing. There were many visitors here today especially Asians.

Loved this exhibition. Had no idea of the scale of these works or the range of styles presented.

One of the free things to do in the Chelsea neighborhood is to get a glimpse on what's new at this gallery. It's quite interesting what we have seen today at this location together as well at 24 th st. A huge gallery I say to fit two huge sculpture exhibit item. I am not into sculptures, I prefer paintings but hey , it's free to roam around this gallery. I can imagine whenever they held gala night on this place! Must be awesome. Is it worth coming in ? Why not ?

As good as any museum except the attitude of the staff could freeze the Dead Sea.

Does the gallery open on bank holidays?

We are open on some bank holidays (eg. President's Day), but closed on others (eg. Memorial Day). My suggestion would be to check our website's Locations page for any closures (https://gagosian.com/locations/).

Constantly bringing in top notch artists - the 2 Richard Serra shows I've seen there were brilliant.

I ordered the double patty burger as the main from their restaurant week course option. Bit disappointed to the lack of honesty for a mistake on their end. It clearly states double patty and mine came with just one so I informed the waiter about it and she said yes this is correct. However the menu clearly states two. I'm not sure what's going on here...dishonesty for a mistake is not worth the money...

I came for dinner this week with visitors from Japan, who were impressed by how authentically Japanese and delicious everything was. Unfortunately, I don't have photos, but we chose the restaurant week menu, which included: 1. Japanese potato salad 2. Choice of kushiage, chicken nanban or kinpira salad--I chose kushiage, which came with 3 pieces 3. Choice of kaisen don, signature burger or shoyu ramen--the burger looked very tasty, but I was in the mood for Japanese food, so I chose the kaisen don 4. Homemade soft serve with choice of strawberry, mango or melon sauce--I chose melon, which was nice We also tried sparkling tea from Copenhagen, which was very refreshing. The restaurant was busy but the servers were friendly and we had a wonderful meal. Looking forward to trying more dishes next time.

It had a good variety of art and enjoyed, the most common thing was many different forms of butterfly art. Lots of eye catching things and plenty of pieces to make you think. It is a smaller sized gallery so you can easily visit and admire the art with a short amount of time. Which I definitely recommend was a great place to get away from the large holiday crowds of 5th Avenue. There were a number of people working for the gallery who I assume could answer any questions you have about a specific piece. Not a clue on prices, but assume they are pricey. If you are a fan of art check this out!

The art studio is two levels, but apparently, in order to peruse the second level, you have to be "somebody" in this world -- meaning, affluence, influence, ya know....you better have that paper. I don't have that kind of paper, so my humble self stayed on the lower level lol. The selections were unique, some were comical, and simply fun to look at. The pieces are definitely pricey, but it was nice to see the art and dream of a mansion with expensive pieces adoring the walls. I'd say give this place a visit if you need something to do while in the city. 10/10
