And, yes, you are correct, I did NOT hire you, my MASTER HOMEOWNER ASSOCIATION, HAILE PLANTATION WEST, hired you. I wish they would have taken the time to vet you to see all your poor reviews. Apparently, I am not the only disappointed person who is unhappy with your dismal performance and salty attitude. And, I also concede that it is NOT our personal fence but it IS a fence I am forced to look at every day from my dining room and living room. Furthermore, it is NOT MY JOB to remind you to come finish the job you started. You were the one who said you would be back in a "couple of days". Now you seem to have no recollection of my (excuse me, HPW's) job and what remains unfinished. We will pay someone else to complete my (HPW's) job. Gainesville Fence is a very good company. There pricing is fair. I have used them twice in the past few years to build a wooden fence and replace two gates. They built sturdy gates with good hardware that make it easy to use. Paul gave me a time line and kept it. They did an excellent job. The crew were hard working and courteous. I should've started here but luckily, I got off easier than some of these folks. Paul came highly recommended which is shocking based on these reviews; it appears he's good when he wants to be. I needed two, 12' gates installed on a fence I put up. We scheduled Paul a month out after getting a quote (no deposit required). I thought it was affordable. We tried to move it up but he wasn't flexible due to other jobs, vacation and....court dates. The day before our appointment we confirmed with him a 9AM arrival for the next day. Does he show up? No. We text him and he says he'll be in court until 11AM, and that he'll show up after. Does he show up after? No. Do we get a call, text or an update as to what's going on? No. Ironically, the friend who recommended him said he did the same thing for their project. He didn't show up on time and one random day he's in their backyard working without so much as a heads-up. Well, I don't operate that way. I know in America 2022 most of us are used to getting crappy service, but I was raised that even if you have nothing, you still have your word. You take pride in doing what you say you're going to do. Paul has no pride. At least it didn't cost me anything but a month of time. read more

Wow is all I can say. Paul and his team came to give me an estimate within a couple of days of my request and the estimate was much lower than others I had received. Paul and his team came to put up my fence as soon as I gave him the okay and they did an excellent job. The workmanship and quality is second to none. His team also put up a fence in a home of mine several years ago and did a fantastic job then. any fencing needs you have can certainly be filled by Paul and his amazing team. Paul and crew did an absolute crappy job on my fence. Coming highly regarded, I rolled the dice and lost. Paul installed the fence, it took nearly a week to get the gate handle. Then when i started to spray laquer, I started seeing problems. Nails hanging out, fence panels warped or cracked, staples hanging out, fence posts cracked etc. After about a month of him not showing up and ignoring my texts, emails and phone calls, I left a voice message that highly upset his secretary, too bad. Apparently his office secretary, Jessica was trained by him. Now, let's look at the time, fence installed in January 2018... it's August and I have 24 out of 25 posts, split. Does Paul care, nope. That SOB got paid and now I'm left to fix it. Paul's claim to me is that he is a Marine... oddly, he had to have been kicked out, because Marines wouldn't screw over their own. Paul, this isn't over. The worst fence company around! Unfortunately we hired them! The biggest mistake ever! Customer service is a joke. They are untrue to their word ...both Paul and Jessica... Best advise is just don't !!! Hire someone who is reliable and honest !i usually don't post negative reviews but this company earned it ! They acknowledged the mistakes/screw ups but still haven't made all of it right despite the many chances ,phone calls ,and emails to both of them. I wish we were able to give negative stars because Gainesville fence doesn't even deserve the one star on here for you to be warned of their sub par service! Update in response to Paul's comment. 1) you need to be more honest in your business. Dont accept jobs and deposits for jobs you dont intend to do 2) YOU suggested just giving us the money back because "my supplier isn't sending me anything." 3) if you dropped a check in the mail, WHERE IS IT? It has been months, it should have come to us or back to you. 4) You are right that I was unable to come in on Thursday, although I dont believe you cancelled anything to be there. But I DID return on Thursday after going to the store, the guys in the white truck had left but another young man was still there and stated you had still not come back, so I set in the car and waited another 15 minutes which brought the whole thing to roughly 2 hours, THEN my wife came by about 45 min later and spoke to the guy who makes the gates who know nothing. Yes, your office is in archer but there is NEVER ANYONE THERE. I came countless times but there is nobody there or workers waiting outside for you or the manager to show up who know nothing about it. And as for "making the appointment to pick up the check" the day I got it. I and my wife called several times over that week with no answer and no return calls. I call you and the other number listed online EIGHT TIMES that day before finally getting an answer and was told she would be there for 30 minutes and I made it across town in that time frame to pick up the check. Don't act like not following through is an isolated event, all people have to do is read the other reviews to know I'm not the one telling a lie. I dont know how you managed to get mostly positive reviews displayed, but if you check the "not reccomend reviews" there is most definitely a pattern. He was quick to give an estimate and installed the fence within two weeks. When it came time to paint...poof, nowhere to be found. He wouldn't return calls or give any timeline despite including painting in the original estimate. He should not say he offers painting if he doesn't. read more

Called Gainesville fence and set up an appointment for an estimate. I cleared my schedule to be home but they never showed up. I called but got a voicemail so I left a message for them to call for another appointment. After two days and no return call I called again and leaving a message with no response after two weeks. I recommend calling another company that may be more responsive and considerate of its customers. read more

Paul provided me with a verbal quote as soon as I called him and it was significantly less than others I had received. I went with him, and glad I did. He and his crew were professional, respectful, hardworking and efficient the entire time. They did an awesome job removing our old fence and installing the new. Paul provided a fair estimate. Looking at my neighbors recently installed fence, he showed me various spots that were not done properly and expressed confidence in his teams' ability to make a much better fence in only a day or two. After agreeing on a price, he told me that they would be out to put up the fence the next Friday or following Monday. When there was no sign of his crew on Monday, I gave him a call; he assured me that the they would be there the next day, if not definitely Wednesday. Tuesday = no fence. Wednesday = no fence. When I called him Wednesday afternoon, he does not answer. After not taking calls from my cell, I gave him a call that Friday from my office phone. When he answers, he explains a variety of unforeseen events took place and that he would definitely have it done by the middle of the next week. While on the phone, I express to him that I know its not a big job and if his team has more lucrative projects in the work, please let me know and I will just contact another fence company. Once again, Paul assures me that his team will get it done by the middle of the next week. ...Needless to say, they never came, he's never returned any of my voicemails and no longer answers my calls from my office or cell. This ordeal has dragged out for a month - we could have had our fence done by anyone else if he would have just been honest. Even after giving him numerous opportunities to pass on the project - he continued to blow hot air and remain unaccountable and unresponsive. After reading other reviews, I feel foolish for thinking my experience was going to be much different, but he just has no hesitation in lying. We went with Gainesville fence because they were one of the cheapest and had good quality work. We had the fence installed quickly and on budget. Paul did have to come back to replace a few boards about a month after install. His work comes with a one year warranty. But good luck getting him to come back out. We had the fence installed in August 2013 and I have been trying to get him to come back out to replace a few more boards that are cracked since May of 2014. He says he will be coming and never does.
