We signed up for Masters a year ago and requested lawn cutting service only. We were told we could only sign up for and subsequently pay for full lawn service including weeding and "full lawn care". Our front yard is full of weeds and our neighbors have said something in concern the weeds will spread to their yard. My husband emailed Masters, they came out promptly looked, said they would change the treatment and follow up to make sure the lawn improved. No one ever came back or followed up. Masters came today to provide the weekly service and our lawn looks bad. My husband is in the backyard pulling weeds and I'm about to retrim the grass myself because there are parts in the front and back left uncut. We've reached out multiple times and nothing has changed. I would very much not recommend. read more

I wish I could write a good review, but I cannot. I have been trying for 4 months for them to start the service that we signed up for, and I am still waiting. After scheduling the first treatment, I received an email at the end of August saying that our lawn had been treated. However, they listed (and went to) the wrong address. I immediately called them, and they confirmed that they had, in fact, went to the wrong address. Despite my repeated calls, and requests, over the past 2 months, I am still waiting for my first treatment. I called twice last week and was told that someone would definitely be out to the house yesterday. But, not surprising, I am still waiting! I had chosen this company due to their good reviews, but obviously, I made a mistake. In my search for quality lawn care, I found this company, The Master's Lawn & Pest and was drawn in by their slick website that seemed to check every box. I hired them expecting the high-caliber service they advertise, only to be met with work so poorly executed that it took my lawn several months to recover. The crew member assigned to my property was clearly untrained, repeatedly failing to complete even basic tasks. Every week I had to remind him of what was left undone from the week prior. After just a few weeks, when I fired them, my lawn was riddled with bare patches caused by the mower being set far too low--so low that roots were left exposed. Worse yet, both edges leading to my front door were burnt to a crisp. Their crew chief eventually advised me to stop mowing entirely to give the lawn a chance to recover! It was disheartening to see my lawn in such a state, and it took a lot of my personal attention and time to nurse it back to life. Adding to the frustration, the specific person I was directed to talk to concerning my account was difficult to reach, requiring that I spend unnecessary time on multiple follow-ups. This experience has been eye-opening for me. Next time, instead of being dazzled by polished websites, I'll read the one star reviews first as they give in general a much truer picture of the quality of work delivered. I wish I had done that--it would have saved me time, aggravation, and my lawn. This was, hands-down, the worst experience I've ever had with a lawn care company. read more

I am thoroughly impressed with The Master's Lawn Care. After moving here in August of 2022, we did lots of work on the inside and outside of our new house. We began with another company we thought was "local" (even after discovering the other company was a chain all over Florida we proceeded) and had a good experience putting in our paver back patio so then we moved on the the lawn beds and sprinkler system. That's where everything went off the rails! It was crazy - weeks of delays, promises not kept, things done out of order, and payment issues. As I was complaining about it to our very local lawn person, he suggested we go with Masters and I couldn't be happier! They are on time, honest, give very specific invoices, and are super friendly. Today Terry came out to look over my sprinkler system - that they had resurrected!! - and to talk to me about beds and sod. It was an amazing meeting and very informative and not 2 hours later I had the quote in my email and I couldn't wait to accept. Once all my work is done I'll come back and update the review with pictures but everything so far has been above board and honest. Those are two things sorely lacking in other spaces! We thought we had a very friendly and professional team to start out, I don't know why things changed when Devon from the first team that showed up decided to cover up mulching we wanted removed, lied to me about covering it up and kick my plants. Master's did however, make up for this employee's behavior by promptly removing him from the job and sending us an entire new crew the next day to fix Devon's mess and finish the work. The new team AJ, Laks and DeShaun were absolutely phenomenal!! They went above and beyond to make right the wrong, complete the job and make sure that we were informed throughout the entire time they were on the job. Thank you Master's for sending us this amazing team and for not making excuses for the one employee's behavior. As a whole, I've been very impressed and pleased with TMLC. Rusty has been out for some landscape plans and TMLC has replaced parts of the lawn, replaced some deceased shrubs, cut limbs off of trees, and did a small drain in the back to draw water away from the house. I'd had an issue with water standing in part of the yard next to the house during even moderate rains, and other companies said I had no choice but regrade the yard. Rusty insisted that this was a better and less expensive option that he really believed would solve the problem, and it sure did. Jared, Josh, and Chase are all others I've worked with regarding service quotes and applications. All of the services provided have been done well, the teams have been pleasant and have left everything looking great. I've really been impressed with the time they take when looking at my projects and offering their suggestions (I'm a detail person and I ask a lot of questions. A LOT.) I've been in my home three years now. I inherited another fertilizer company when I bought the house and I hesitated to move over to TMLC because it was more costly, but I'll tell you what, the other company never commented on this weed or that weed even when they came out to do their inspections (I mean, you have ONE JOB) and I'd randomly have Rusty out for some reason and he'd say "hey did you see this?" It never failed that the other company had literally just been out the day before and said nothing and did not treat said issue. The first year I was in my home I hired another company cut the lawn and do the shrubs. I figured the second year after I'd settled into the home, I'd take over doing things myself as I always have in past homes. However, I inherited A LOT of really great landscaping, and it took too long for me to manage when added to the lawn work. So I hired the first company back to do the shrubs, but didn't love the work the team did. I then hired an individual who does my neighbor's yard to do the shrubs, and he cut them too severely. Jared came out and offered me a proposal for the maintenance of the shrubs. Now here comes Anthony to do the work. He had Jared's proposal in his hand with the drawings of what to cut and how, and he STILL walked the property with me to hear what I wanted things to look like. Every other company has just come and done the work without even knocking on the door to talk with me on their first visit. Anthony and I talked about the boxwoods and ligustrum that had been cut too severely last year and how I was sad that they were no longer full shrubs. Anthony suggested cutting some plants that sit in front of the boxwoods to give them some space to breathe, and it looked really great. There is also a huge holly in this bed, and it can get unwieldy pretty fast. He clarified the shape I wanted for it, and then they got to work. Anthony and his partner did an EXCELLENT job on these shrubs, the bed looked more tight with his suggestions, and he did a fantastic job on the giant Holly - it had some new growth underneath and he really nailed the shape! And as basic as this probably sounds, Anthony had the written plans in his hand, had read them, asked me what I wanted, looked at my plants, made suggestions, and did everything perfectly. I can't tell you how many people don't read instructions and then don't follow the not-read instructions, let alone offer suggestions and ask questions. The competition isn't doing that, I know because they've done work for me. Anthony is always willing to look at plants, answer questions, and if needed, gets Josh on the phone (I have a Camilla that is struggling). I am just beyond impressed with the care and service he has offered me. I cannot recommend TMLC enough. They are definitely not the cheapest company, but they are worth their fees. read more

Rusty is a master at his craft and he helped us identify a number of different insect and fungus problems when we were getting started. Since then they have been handling all of our fertilizing, weed control and pest management. We recently also contracted them to lay some sod after construction killed off some sections of the lawn and they also laid some pavers for us to widen our driveway, allowing us to better park two vehicles side by side with more room. All of the techs have been professional and outgoing and do thorough work. I highly recommend this team and will continue to use them for all our yard's needs! read more

We have a very heavily shaded lot within an active Homeowners Association neighborhood. The Association is unhappy with the little strip of grass that we have. Jared came out to our property and honestly told us that he would not take our money because there is no grass that will grow under such shady conditions. In fact, sodding the lawn would be worse than working with the existing grass that has adapted to 30+ years of shady conditions. Jared was extremely knowledgeable, straight-forward, and spent more than 30 minutes with me discussing our options for improving what we had. He charged me nothing for his time, and then went further and provided me with a thorough written report and analysis. I cannot recommend this company more highly. We have been using TMLC since November, 2019. They are doing our weekly lawn maintenance (kudos to Corey and his crew for great weekly performance). We also have them doing all fertilization and pest control for our entire yard, i.e. lawn, shrubs, ornamentals, etcl. and are completely satisfied with outcome! In addition, we have had about 8 different landscape projects done since purchasing the home in 11/2019 (from complete demolition of existing front yard to many more additions to side and back yard, last one finished today by DeShawn and Brandon (who did a wonderful job!!)! We have to give prompts to everyone we have worked with at TMLC, Herbert and Willie who were instrumental in starting us with TMLC, Jared, who has handled all our landscape projects, Josh, Andrew, and many others who I can't always remember the names. In addition, Bri, Bionca, Micaela and Michele in the office are a great asset to this company in handling all communication and issues we have had to address (which are very few in comparison to the work we have them do). Herbert and Kyle were here today as well doing the aeration and top dressing to our sod, and as always do a super job and are a great asset to TMLC! read more

I needed some brutal force to trim my trees and shrubs back into place. Master Lawn [Rusty] send me the muscle power needed to get my yard back on track so I could do the every week maintenance myself. The guys understood what I needed, jumped right in, did not waste time, and when done, cleaned up. I like doing my yard, fresh air and exercise, however sometimes it can get out of control and my yard needs some extra taming thus I will be using this care service again. We had our backyard sodded last week by Masters Lawn Care. Along with the new grass we had a bunch of new flower beds cut out for us and mulched. Also, we had a tree planted. When Rusty went to pick up the tree and it didn't meet his standards, Lynne hunted one down for us out of town and they got that one for us. Just to make us happy. That's customer service! Rusty is very one on one and has wonderful ideas. He was so patient with us as we were deciding what work to have done. The employees are all very professional. Lynne the office manager is superb in dealing with clients. They are at the site on time and did everything they said they would do. I'm new to Florida and was only vaguely aware of how to take care of grass. Long story short, our lawn was eaten alive by chinch bugs. I hired Master's Lawn Care to tear up all the dead grass, install irrigation, lay new sod, and for the monthly maintenance program. Rusty came out and took pictures and made a detailed quote. A plus, they take online payments through PayPal! My further contacts with them happened on three occasions: 1. Most of the dead sod was removed and replaced with new sod. This was done when I was at work (which is fine). When I got home and inspected there was a large patch in the middle of my backyard which was not replaced at all and contained lots of dead grass. There was also a small depression near my fence. I called the office and Rich came out the next day and discovered a sprinkler pipe had disconnected so he fixed that. He assured me the grass in the center lawn would return to healthy. After two weeks I mowed the new lawn and very nearly averted lower leg amputation by method of bailing wire. I was really lucky to not be injured. 2. The dead grass in the center yard never got better and, in fact, got worse. I called Rusty and he came out the next day and took a look. He agreed that it should be replaced. A few days later the crew came out and 'patched' the dead spots with new sod. Again, this was while I was at work. I was so sad because it looked terrible. The newer sod was much higher than the old and it looked like they just tore pieces and tried to do a low effort patch job. Upon later inspection, I found that the reason the new grass was so high was because they had laid it on the old grass without removing it! 3. I called Rusty again. He made sure that I his crew would come by at a time when I was home. The crew tore out all of the grass in the center yard, put some sort of fertilizer down, and laid all new sod. Now we have a beautiful yard. Four stars because it took so long to be right. However, it speaks volumes that no matter what happened, Rusty made sure that it was right in the end. read more

Masters won the bid not because they were the cheapest (2nd lowest bid); but because of the attention to detail, Rusty's proposal, and all the reviews I could find for them were rave reviews!! Jeff the foreman, was outstanding!! I have a business where I have subs and it's a a rare day to find such a loyal and devoted employee. He and his associate worked like Trojans. Called for quote to have front yard sodded, I never provided sq ft of area, or whether I have irrigation system, etc, but the office lady said it will be min $2500 without even knowing what was needed. I said "wow, how can you know that without sending someone here?" She said "that's our typical charge so I want to know if that's in your budget"... what I heard was "we don't do a job unless we can charge $2500, so, you know...". So when I asked if they can just come quote it, she said they couldn't come quote for 2 wks... I already have a quote from their competitor for $1600, thet quoted same day, and can install tomorrow. Not sure who the lady I talked to was, but she cost her company a potential client... but then again, maybe that's what they want to do; scare away the "less than $2500 people"... business must be good. read more

I was familiar with the company when I was in charge of a project for our home owners association. I did comparison shop and then decided based upon the detail of the quote, the speed of providing a quote and the start time. There is a bit of a difference between the time frame quoted (2-3) days and the days they were here, but they always showed up when they said they would and if there was a change, it was communicated to me. Ann is a great asset and keeps on top of things. My backyard looks great! We did change lawn maint to them so we had the guarantee on the new sod and that actually saved a some money too! I read many great reviews about this company and was VERY disappointed in the work. I spent over $3000 in total to have my back yard resodded. I followed their instructions for watering and the lawn died. I understand that's a risk, however I also had them as my lawn care company for mowing and landscape work. Nobody ever mentioned that there were issues with the lawn or that we were doing anything wrong. When I finally brought it up to the company, they said that we watered too much. When I said that we followed their guidelines, they then came out and said that we had a grub infestation and that it was there before the lawn was done. Mind you, we never had these grubs before their work and it wasn't mentioned when they laid the sod. They offered a "deal" that they would re-do things and we would just pay for the sod. Yet again, the yard half-way died and yet again they continued my "maintenance" without mentioning any issues. When questioned, they admitted they used the incorrect type of grass, but have not offered to fix their mistake. I highly caution anyone who uses this company...make sure you have a back up plan for when their work fails. read more
