Elizabeth took us to Lemon Tree Gift shop first where you have an opportunity to see so may unique gifts many produced by local crafters. We also spent time in the Artisans Art Gallery (most of us went back to either of the stops after the tour because we had seen something to purchase). However, the highlight was the four restaurants on the tour where we were treated to such incredible food pairings. Trust me when I say, no one left hungry! We were treated to unique American dishes, BBQ, seafood, and home made doughnuts and ice cream. One example, The Cattle Dog is owned by a five star chef who brought his culinary skills to this quaint town. I highly recommend you book this tour for a fun, fabulous, food tour in the lovely coastal town of Crystal River.

Not only did we get to know a bit of the towns history, we got to eat incredible food and meet incredible people. I chose for us to do a private tour and it did not disappoint. It was a great day to experience Inverness, Florida! What a beautiful, small town. I highly suggest booking one of these tours, Elizabeth was highly knowledgeable and knew the towns history backwards and forwards. Highly recommend! Great experience that was not expensive. Well worth it!

Getting this activity 'on the books' was more than aggravating, to say the least. The tasting tour…read moresays that to text them is a quicker option for response to inquiries (for them.) It most definitely didn't seem that way! They DID get back to me via text, but it wasn't in a quick fashion. I'd say an semi-acceptable fashion (within 8-12 hours.) Regardless, we DID get our event scheduled for a private tour with (15 people.) It was quite an expensive 'private tour' of the night of lights that was explained to me as tho the grinch (driving one trolly) and Santa (driving another trolly) would interact with one another (more than minimally) and make the tour exclusive to all 15 of us. They would hop off one trolly and interact with the passengers of the other trolly, etc. In reality, it was NOT a collective tour. The grinch separated from the other trolly and it was essentially two separate tours. Approximately 3-4 times they interacted with one another (acting as tho one would hit the other's trolly, yelling insults at Santa, responding to the grinch, and stopping at the 'duck bar' for the ambush together.) The address to initially meet at is kind of hard to find, even with GPS, as well! There is NO indication of 'the tasting tours' business name on the store front at the address. It is a Cuban bakery.' YES, we all had a good time.... But I don't want the rest of you that book a 'private' tour to be mislead or pay for something you won't receive. *** I also find it distasteful that the company charges an unprecedented amount of money for the trolly rides and then has the audacity to send an email asking for further tip for the trolly drivers.*** Whether a patron tips or not is up to them, not a business owner requesting it!

Want to spend 3 hours on a guided stroll down Park Ave stopping in restaurants, shops and learning…read moreabout some history? Check this out! Nice for locals and visitors. Having seen a lot of post cards for this event around Park Ave, we decided to give it a try this past weekend. We went with the Saturday tour and unfortunately, we were interrupted with some rain during our tour so we didn't get the full history and stroll that usually is part of it. Bummed but we didn't let it stop us from having a good time. Reid was our guide for the day and also a founder of this Food Tour. He was fun and very lighthearted throughout our experience. I do feel that since there was rain we missed most of what the tour was trying to accomplish, which was to give us a history lesson as well. I do have to say, I didn't learn much but since we were scurrying to each location, I know it was difficult. They do warn you of the rain, I mean, hello! It's Florida! So they recommend bringing an umbrella! Do yourself a favor and do that if there is more than 30% chance! You will be glad you did. For a $47 price tag, check out the stops we headed to and keep in mind, they are the same stops for each tour but they will be adding a new tour of the other end of Park Ave in the next few months. This is a tour of 6 businesses which consist of: Prato Ancient Olive The Spice & Tea Exchange Orchid Thai Cuisine Kilwin's Sassafras Sweet Shoppe Prato I have been various times so I already knew it was going to be a great kick-off to the tour. When you booked, there were an option of Wine or Beer. I went for the wine and a red wine was waiting as we were seated at the table. We tried 2 of their pizzas and had their house bread as well. It was lovely as you really can't have a bad experience in Prato. However, I think this would have been a great opportunity for someone from Prato to chat about their business but Reid did a pretty good rundown. Ancient Olive By far, Ancient Olive took the cake for being the highlight of the tour. WOW! Not only does this shop rock in it's own right, they know how to host a tour of people who love food and want a taste of local. We had someone from Ancient Olive walk us through an Olive Oil & Balsamic tasting, think Wine tasting but with Olive Oil & Balsamic. They also had some tapenade and a goat cheese spread with balsamic and almonds to snack on. They carry a local all-natural beverage mixer as well, Bungalow23 and we had the Prickly Pear. Just when we thought we were already in heaven, another door opened: Ice Cream with Olive Oil and salt... OMGGGGG... I could have stopped the tour here and taken a bath in this. You are not supposed to shop on this tour but it was raining and I spent almost $70 here. Such a great stop. The Spice & Tea Exchange They have so many teas, salts, spices and peppers than you could ever imagine. The best part is they have kick-a recipes to use and we tasted two of them on this stop. Beer cheese dip and an orzo pasta. The pasta was delicious! We also had one of their cold brew teas. Lovely stop. I did feel a little rushed from here on out but that may have been because the rain kept us at the 2nd stop for a long time. Orchid Thai Cuisine I have been here and unfortunately, everything we tasted, chicken satay and their appetizer platter was everything I have had here before. Didn't get much of a new experience here and didn't really learn anything about the business except they have been there for 6 years. Kilwin's My least fav stop on the tour. Not sure why we went with Kilwin's since it's not local. When we arrive, we really didn't learn anything about the business and no one from there interacted with us. We had a taste of the Winter Park Mud, vanilla ice cream with chocolate chips and carmel. It was good but the ice cream wasn't very smooth, it was more crystalized. I am not into fudge so I gave mine away. It was the turtle fudge. Sassafras Sweet Shoppe I adore this store so I was excited to see this on the stop. However, we only spent about 2 minutes in here and grabbed cotton candy and went and ate it under an awning outside and were sent on our way. A very abrupt ending but it was still raining out so I guess we couldn't expect too much. Overall, wasn't blown away but I did it with 2 friends and the others that were on the tour were fun as well. It was a lovely way to spend the afternoon even if the stops and content didn't blow me away.

Good food, new friends, perfect weather. What more could you want on a Saturday afternoon?…read more We had a great tour of Winter Park with Kiel. He's very knowledgable about the area and locations where we made stops. We also had great service at each of our stops, as Kiel is on a first name basis with everyone on Park Ave. I highly recommend this tour for out of town guests or if you'd just like to get to know your neighborhood a little bit better.

Experienced going to the morning market to pick out fresh ingredients for hour meal. This class was more of a demonstration class than actual cooking and you are served by a professional chef what could be better. Also he is a comedian that perhaps should be playing a part at a comedy club. In closing I hope I can get back there someday, absolutely wonderful experience.

Trying to find a cooking class in the area was challenging. I was looking for a hands on class but…read morefor the weekend that I wanted, nothing was available. I settled on a demonstration class with Chef Thompson. The menu for that Saturday night was "Low Country Cuisine", which included a roasted butternut squash salad with goat cheese, smoked bacon, and pickled red onions; Mayport shrimp and Carolina clam perlou; and a winter citrus "french toast" with pear coulis and limoncello whipped cream. Given that my friend is allergic to seafood, I asked about a beef or chicken option substitute and the chef was very accommodating! He added skirt steak to the menu. When we arrived around 5:30 pm for the Saturday class, a group of three was already there. The chef offered wine and water as we settled into the counter-height directors chairs to watch him prepare a delicious meal. Chef Bill is a natural teacher. He seamlessly cooked, talked about the food and the inspiration behind some of the dishes, and interacted with us. The smells, the tastes, and the whiffs of food were incredible! He definitely knows what he's doing! About 2 hours later, we were ready to eat. Chef Thompson set up a buffet for us and we were encouraged to fill our plates and to get seconds. There was more than enough food. This was definitely a five star experience but my OCD with germs drops it down to four stars. I'd have just liked to see a little more hand washing as he was touching his face and other items around the kitchen as he was cooking. But, that was a minor issue and one that I'm sure only I noticed. If you're looking for a little something different for a dinner date or for an activity with friends, check out this culinary institute. You'll be in for a delicious meal that night and with the recipes and tips that you'll get, you can recreate the meal at home too.

Made us feel unsafe with hostility & GUN!…read more We booked our reservation a few days before our tour date. We had questions regarding our tour and tried contacting the phone number prior to arriving in which nobody answered or returned our phone call. We were confused where the tour was at because there were no signs anywhere and nobody to communicate with. We waited at the residence for 40 minutes until a kind gentlemen walked by helped us find the creek. He told us the creek was on his property and he brought us back to where Hurley, our tour guide was at. Hurley was immediately hostile towards the man and yelled at him for "interfering with his business". We were immediately uncomfortable at the altercation and had an uneasy feeling. He began yelling at us telling us we were late and we explained how we tried to call and there were no signs anywhere and we were lost. He said "we don't have signs & don't answer phones". This business is sketchy, the people are sketchy, we were treated absolutely poorly for being paying customers. We asked for a refund because of how uncomfortable and unsafe we felt. Hurley was rude, aggressive, and unprofessional & kept his hand on his gun. He told us we were trespassing even though we paid and had a reservation. We had to call the cops on him because he was making threats and told us we would be "safer" further away from his property. He recorded us the entire time. We do NOT recommend this business. Especially if you are with no men. We felt very unsafe being two women with our children there.
