We could not be happier with the great work from Bernie McMahon and his team at Galaxy Fence Services. We really needed to fence in the yard to secure it for our twin boys. The fence is beautiful, adds a ton of privacy, and really compliments our home, yard and patio. We love the khaki color. Everything was completed on time and within our budget. We even had help yo pull the permit and get approvals from our neighborhood association. I highly recommend Galaxy for any fencing project. Thanks guys! read more

This is an update to my previous review - I wish I could give them negative stars! Shortly after they installed our fence, a panel separated from the post. We actually got them to come and fix it. A couple weeks ago the same spot came apart AGAIN. They won't return our calls. NOw we have to get a lawyer. They are the worst company I've ever dealt with. July 2015 If I could give zero stars I would. After 2 more "penciled" in days came and went with no call, I called them and said I didn't want to work with them and we wanted our money back. They showed up this morning, NO CALL, and started tearing down our fence! We are VERY leery, of course, but we are so desperate for a new fence, we are letting them do the job. (Our fence is literally tied together with strings!) We will see how the installation goes. read more

My friend hired Galaxy Fence after they came in with the LOW BID. Mistake #1 since this Company installled the fence so poorly, the panels began falling once a wind came. He had it checked and found Galaxy installed the hardware wrong and WORSE part when he tried to get his fix done right, GALAXY FENCE SERVICES WON'T RETURN CALLS. This is a LOOSER company for installation, customer service and quality. I am sorry to even give this Company one star!!! read more

There are still a few little items to complete, but I am satisfied with the quality of the work. Mr. Birney was very pleasant. He is thorough when he speaks with you about the process, and his team was professional, quick, thorough and pleasant as well. Once he has gained your business though, you may not get to speak with him in real-time communication as you would like. He may operate strictly from text messaging, and although he chooses to speak to you in this form of communication, he will always get back with you. He fixed a problem that occurred with our gate door quickly (within 48 hours), but this was only thorough text messaging with one another. You have to understand that he is a small business owner, and look at how he does business to that of a contractor. If you adopt this understanding, you will find it hard to get impatient or as upset with him, because you should already know what to expect. But still, his price cannot be beat, along with his quality in service once he gets to working. read more

If I was able to leave 0 stars I would. This company is an absolute joke and the owner fits in with that description. I paid high money for a fence that was leaning and all up and down. The owner fixed small problems but wouldn't return phone calls to come fix the rest. Mind you it's all under warranty and documented. I now have the headache of another fencing company coming to fix the issues and the joys of a lawsuit against galaxy fencing. AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. They installed vinyl/HDPE (Derby) Fence at our horse farm in late 2012. We paid over $30,000 and the fence was a complete disaster, UNUSABLE - it has to be entirely removed and re-installed by a different contractor, which unfortunately also required the re-purchase of a good amount of materials due to the originals being ruined by Galaxy. On our project, Galaxy Fence: (i) elected to NOT CONCRETE a large number of the fence posts (but told me they were all fully set in concrete, as explicitly required in our contract and by basic industry standards); (ii) elected to NOT INSTALL the manufacturer-supplied retaining buttons in a majority of the fence rails (meaning that the rails would fall out of the posts in a stiff wind, or with a gentle nudge of the horse's nose). Rather than install the manufacturer-supplied rail buttons that keep the rails in place, Galaxy chose to THROW THEM AWAY; (iii) CUT LINE POSTS SHORTER to reduce the amount of digging required, rather than dig all post holes of adequate depth; (iv) FAILED to install the manufacturer-supplied clips for the fence post caps; (v) CREATED A HAZARD by cutting off the prior dog run's steel fence posts at an angle just above ground level (rather than pulling the steel posts as promised), leaving SHARP, HOLLOW STEEL "DAGGERS" sticking out from the ground in the horses' paddock (which, fortunately, I discovered before any horses were injured); (vi) LIED TO THE FENCE MANUFACTURER, when I asked Galaxy Fence to call the manufacturer to figure out why all of the gates were sagging. Galaxy Fence told the manufacturer that Galaxy had installed the requisite internal support within the gate posts, when in fact they had installed NO INTERNAL SUPPORTS; and (vii) LIED TO ME, when I asked whether all fence posts were set in concrete, whether the rail retaining buttons had been installed, etc. And after all this, Galaxy Fence is not returning my phone calls & emails to request that they make the situation right. We have paid twice for our fence, and put our horses unintentionally at risk. We learned the hard way.... But you don't have to. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY, OR ANY OTHER COMPANY RUN BY BERNIE MCMAHON. read more

-000000000 stars... we had a schedule appointment at noon 12pm today Friday 4/13 /18 Burnie was a total no show ....he did tell me when I talked with him on Wednesday he might be late because of a meeting with a homeowners association. ...I said that was fine would you like to do it a different day or time he said no no this is fine i just wanted to let you know .....I thought that was nice and probably a way bigger job then mine so I said please just call me or text me if your running behind .....it is now after 1 pm and I have not heard from him I left 2 vm asking for him to call me and let me know what is going on still no response. ... ...I just called agian went to voice mail so I said not to bother from this point further ....I took off work my husband took off work for nothing... thanks a lot ......I realy liked him too..I probably would have totally went with him he is a smooth talker over the phone out of everyone I called.......I'm pissed but happy I found out before hand that he is an asshole and a scammer. .....call someone else yelp is making me put a star rating so I had to pick 1 but I would not give any or negative if that was an option read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. The owner Bernie McMahon is a thief!!! He signed a contract to build fencing for me in 2010. I gave him a $1000.00 deposit and never received my fencing. Never received any materials.... Nothing!!! I'm a single mother who had just purchased her first home. I was so excited. His previous company was named Total Fence and Deck Company so he has changed the name of his so called company. I took him to court and won the judgement. I also contacted the Better Business Bureau and Bernie sent me an e-mail stating that he wanted my address so that he could send me my refund. Of course that never happened. I even found his residence, knocked on his door, and spoke with his daughter. I told her that her father is a liar and a thief. How would he feel if someone stole money from her household?? She defended him. He is also listed on Angie's list. I spoke with other victims who have had to threaten him to finish jobs. Please be aware of this scammer!!!! read more

I agree, EXTREMELY POOR communications and service - and, I agree that even one star is way too much for their rating - they were almost two months late installing when they knew I had fence falling down and was worried about horses getting out - I gave them an out, saying if they hadn't purchased the fencing just give me my downpayment back and I'd get someone else - they did a good job on the privacy fencing, but the rest could have been done as well by a bunch of kids - posts were not spaced evenly apart - some posts even had some of their wood missing after installed - they used the cheapest possible materials (super skinny wood posts that split when installed, cheapest farm fencing that was installed all crumpled up, didn't have or install the 1400 ft of horse fencing that was supposed to be attached to the posts) - charged me a whopping $12,910 for less than $3,000 of material - meaning I was supposed to pay almost $10,000 for labor when there was no way that amount of labor had taken place - very sorry I recommended them to my neighbor, but will let him know to get someone else - very, very sorry I didn't check the reviews for this company before I hired them read more

We had a 6ft tall cedar privacy fence installed (approx. 238 linear feet) in the spring. The cost was just under 7k. At this amount I expect a certain level of detail to be executed. I am sorry to say it was not. As industry standard with cedar fences, you have to use certain nails or screws so the cedar does not react with the metal. If you use incorrect nails or screws, you get long black streaks down the wood. Needless to say, this is exactly what we have. Bernie told us we needed to let the cedar dry out and not to seal it until September, which gave enough time for the black streaks to appear. My husband and I have since spent several hundred dollars and over six hours applying three applications of fence wash to remove the stains. Unfortunately 90% of the stains could not be removed. We sealed the fence so the stains would not get worse, but the damage it done. The only remedy would be to replace all the boards with new ones and use the CORRECT NAILS OR SCREWS! I have called Galaxy fence and left several messages for Bernie.....no response. What makes me the angriest is this....if we are going to spend 7k on a new fence; we would have happily paid extra to have the correct nails / screws used if they cost more than what was used. We were never given an option, so one would assume the correct nails / screws would have been used. The lack of response to my phone calls is unacceptable and I will not refer this company to friends, family or anyone who reads this. read more
