And the best part is - you're open to attend as many classes as you'd like. At other gyms they offer you one set class that's only available twice a week with no other alternatives. ATC isn't just TaeKwonDo, they offer a wide range of forms of martial arts as well. They also offer jujitsu and gumdo. pretty sweet huh? The instructors are great and attentive. They're number one concern isn't about getting their students to the next belt butt rather making sure the students are getting the proper training and are prepared to be able to defend themselves if attacked. Great instructors who are concerned with the development of a members discipline, respect and overall skills. We have been going here for 11 years and have seen my son grow as a person and with his TKD skills. You do have to sign a contract, but you can negotiate the length of it if you know there are going to be issues getting to classes on a consistent basis. I've been a student at ATC for about 4 years now. My son has been a student here for about 6 years. We both enjoy the instruction taught by Master Safa and his staff. They focus on discipline and technique while working to improve strength, stamina, and flexibility. Pretty good work outs and usually I'm drenched in sweat by the time class is over. Master Safa is pretty good about combining different styles into his classes so that you are a more well rounded opponent. This includes, BJJ, Judo, and Hapkido. I would like to see more but I'll take what I can get. They also hold sparring classes twice a week, full contact with approved gear. ATC does test about every 3 months but your only allowed to test upon their approval. They also have the discretion to late test you and even not award your belt if they believe you need more training. I believe you must attend 2-3 classes per week if want to obtain results and move up in the belt ranking system. Yes, ATC training can get expensive but I don't know of any martial art studio that doesn't require a contract of some sort. I'm also a student at local Krav Maga gym which again requires a contract. Yes, ATC is great for kids and teens. Good for adults too but they're aren't many adult students. If you're looking to explore entry into the martial arts world, ATC is great place to start! read more

We love ATC Aliso Viejo! My son's been training here for about 2 years. The instructors are great with kids. They are firm but caring. There are several instructors during each class so the students get a lot of attention which helps them work on the the intricacies of their forms and movements. My son has learned so much and still has a ton of fun. There are a variety of class times that make it easy to fit into our crazy schedule. We have been with ATC since early 2010. Master Safa and his team of instructors are very dedicated, caring, professional, kids friendly, and extremely knowledgeable with Taekwondo and other martial art styles. Their Little Lions program is an excellent program for kids up to 6 years old. After 6 years old they can move up to the junior program. We started our 1st daughter when she was 3 years and 4 months old. She is now a 2nd degree black belt in Taekwondo for a year. My younger daughter also just started for almost 2 years now. This is a great place for children to learn about discipline, respect, focus, Taekwondo, and strength training. We would highly recommend it. read more

They instill so many good things here in the kids that it is really such a positive place to bring them and they learn Taikwando at the same time! A win win. When looking for a Tae Kwondo place I was looking for convenience, and since my daughter was taking gymnastics in the same building ATC was perfect! Even though I was warned by friends because it is known as a place that tests like crazy to get money, we still signed up. My son actually enjoyed the classes for a year and a half, even though we were spending a lot on the testing. When you join you sign a one year contract, which we were told that you can quit if you would like, it wouldn't be a problem. Well after the year one was up they called us in to sign a new one, and my son would get the black outfit (which he wanted). I was hesitant because I knew he wanted to try other things. Again they told me that it would be no problem to quit. Well in June we called in to quit and played phone tag and were charged for July. My daughter was sick and contagious so I called again rather than coming in. They are holding us to the contract and we have now been charged over $500 for a class he is no longer taking and they are refusing to reimburse or cancel the contract! I have opened up a claim with our bank (I stupidly did auto pay on my debit card) and will have to change my card number which will be very inconvenient because we have many things hooked up to it. To tie a 7 year old boy into a single activity for 2 years is ludicrous. While the teachers are great, the times are not flexible. read more

ATC is one of the best places to stay active while having fun at the same time. ATC offers a wide array of different martial arts and there is a class for anyone whether it be Taekwondo, Jiu-Jitsu, Gum-do (swords), Hapkido, or Aerobic Kickboxing. Ive tried other martial arts places but most of them are pretty boring compared to ATC; ATC doesn't stick to a routine for its classes. They like to change things up so students don't get bored. Places like 24 Hour Fitness are also a great place to stay fit, but they do not teach the variety of things that ATC does. Plus, at these sorts of gyms, the coaches and trainers are not as personal with you (you're basically on your own for the most part). The instructors at ATC are hands on with students and are extremely helpful... you can go to them with any concerns that you have. Overall, ATC has a fun and energetic atmosphere and I would recommend it to anyone seeking to stay active or take on a new sport!! (: read more
