The move was fine and the movers did a fine job, but you can NOT trust the people running this company to give you a refund on your boxes as they promise. They offer $2 back on every box and I have chased a cheque for $105 for three months. Some of my emails have been ignored, some have been responded to with excuses (mat leave, postal strike (2 weeks, not 3 months), cheque's in the mail). I am out $105 for trusting Galaxy Moving. You can't trust these guys to give you a penny back so don't look to them to pick up your boxes -- sell them on your own. Do not buy any insurance from them or you will never see or hear from them again. Responsive until you've paid up. 3 months -- no excuses. read more

I had helped my boss with his move from Vancouver, BC to Manhattan Beach, CA. He asked me to write a review on this company to let people know about an incident with theft, outsourcing help through craigslist, and how rude the owner was after they tried resolving the incident. Great first impression with this company; however, everything went down hill after we accepted their offer. First of all we paid about $8k for the entire move. It was to be COD after all their stuff was delivered to Manhattan Beach.They demanded a deposit early before the pick up in Vancouver and the rest after the job was done. When the movers arrived at the house, my boss' wife was speaking to the first guy who showed up and it turns out that he was and unemployed electrician from Las Vegas who was hired off craigslist. It turns out 3 of the 5 men were outsourced from craigslist. When confronted about this through email the owner said that, "[they] do not use craigslist..." and they, "use affiliate agents to source out extra men." He also said that, "The agent my recruit from there but [they] do not." Which is basically saying that their company uses an agent who uses craigslist to hire help for the company. As for the theft, my boss' son had been playing with his brand new iPod before the movers arrived and left it on the bed. While the movers were still there, he mentioned that he couldn't find it. His daughter even confirmed he was using it on the bed. Now keep in mind the house was empty with just a few bed frames and couches that were already there before the movers had arrived. Everything in the truck was either wrapped up or boxed so it would have been found easily if it was misplaced. After opening the boxes and turning the house upside down, it was still missing. When confronting the owner through several emails, the owner apologized and said he was going to send out a claim form for the missing Ipod. After about a week of not getting any responses, my boss finally followed up and was told that the driver Sean was going to cover the cost of the iPod out of his paycheck but we had to wait till Monday (five days for the transfer). Which is weird because they are deducting the money from the drivers paycheck when the company should be paying for it. Then company demanded their deposit early, yet my boss had to wait 5 days for a transfer. We explained this to the owner and they responded with... "No we waited and waited and had to hound you. You cried and whined and finally paid. We are paying you for an iPod your kid lost, we said it would be done Monday and it will. You didn't even tip the driver.... He's paying for this out of his cheque. FYI Have a good day" The owner was rude, blaming his son for for the stolen IPod, and commenting on not giving a tip after they already paid $8,000.00 for the move. I wouldn't hire them again knowing that they outsource their workers off craigslist and how confrontational the owner was after the incident. read more

I wish I could give minus stars.... these rip off artists totally took advantage of my mom. First gave her a low rate to move her stuff Edmonton to van and get into to storage while she stayed with me to look for a place. WELL seems ONE of her chairs did not fit so she was charged an extra $100 a month for the storage of a chair.. like seriously... then the move came.. she couldn't get a confirmed date from them.. then they tried to charge her an arm and a leg because she was moving out of the van area.. like 20 min out.. so she argued that and they honored they previous price... but oh they got their money in the end I tell ya. She did mention that she has a few very good items she can leave on the truck as she had no room.. the person then seemed to change their attitude...She received an invoice was for 365 less the $200 deposit she had to pay.. this was the amount agreed upon. Movers came and they were nice, it is not their fault the owners are awful. they did drop some things and bang up some pretty expensive pieces of furniture but they were at least NICE! then the move was at an end.. everyone is happy.. then the moves tell us how much they want us to pay.. was like $600 dollars.. lol I was like NO WAY.. so my mom called they guy .. he then sent another invoice to her email that was $200 dumping fee (for the items left on the truck) this was NEVER told to her, transit fee's and other extra's and forgot to take off the $200. So with my mother telling me to calm down she just wants to pay and be done with it.. she paid about $400.. I was like the MATH DOES NOT ADD UP ! Called to get a quote. It was a call center for "5 or 6 companies" of which I asked the names of, so I could check their reputation. Call center individual then became short with me and asked if I was "looking to book or not?", and when I explained why I was asking, he said "Good luck". Would avoid at all costs - looks like a fairly common sentiment. Seems like I narrowly avoided disaster, after reading these reviews - that guy did me a favour. They never answer their phone, they have no location in vancouver where you can visit them, I have no idea where my belongings are, they are very secretive. If you want access to your belongings, its difficult. All attempts I have made to deal with this company have been difficult. As they still have my contents, I have never had a sleepless night. I have asked to speak with their person in charge many times and always been denied. They are very expensive and very unprofessional. If you are ever considering using their services.... I had the misfortune to pick Galaxy Moving to move and to store items for me, a decision I deeply regret. The issues I had with them include: * The original estimate they gave me for the first move was fine. When they turned up they announced there estimate was wrong and they would need another truck, adding over $1,000 to the bill. Obviously at this point you have no option but to say yes. Incompetence or a deliberate way to charge more, I do not know. * They broke and damaged several items, and when I tried to discuss this with them, they were evasive, then aggressive and took absolutely no responsibility for the damage they had done. * For every pick up or delivery they have ever done they have never been even close to being on time. My last delivery promised for 9-12, actually ot completed at 6.45pm I would never use them again. read more

Stay away... FAR FAR away from this useless bunch of CONMEN...! If I could give this USELESS company negative stars I would...! They rope you in with relatively good service by picking up your stuff and taking it to their storage centre. However, as soon as you want your stuff back the RIP OFF begins... Approx. 2 years ago we pre-paid for 12 months storage in advance to receive an incentivised price. After eight months we had to move our stuff over to Victoria and expected to receive a 'pro-rated' refund for the remaining time i.e. (4 months). They told us this would paid once the storage unit was empty, but that we had to pre-pay an extra $800 Deposit for some guys to load our truck. We understood that this was a 'maximum charge' (day rate) but that if it took less time we would be refunded the balance. We arranged a Moving truck to collect our contents but couldn't find the business as it had supposedly moved to another location..? No information on their website, no-one answering or returning our phone calls, e-mails, etc. etc. Finally we found the place (totally different address to one listed).? Is that even legal for Insurance purposes..???!!! Then two guys who had just been hired (whom admitted to never having moved anything in their lives) helped us load the truck which only took 2 hours as there were 4 of us. Not only did they NOT refund 1) our pro-rated 4 months 2) $800 deposit (minus 2 hours labour) they sent us another bill (approx. $60) to cover petrol used by their forklift truck to move our storage pods from outside to inside which took maximum 10 mins..???!!!!! I can't believe this company still exists and don't know why it hasn't been fully investigated and/or shut down by the government..?!!!!!! BTW this company was successfully sued by the Vancouver Canucks for over $100,000 back in 2014... Same Sh@t different day. read more

Avoid these guys at all costs. If I could have given less than 1 star I would. If you still decide to hire galaxy despite the reviews at least refuse to pay ahead everything ahead of time until services rendered area to your satisfaction. I hired these guys to move furniture from our home into temporary storage while our new home was being built and then delivery to our new home in Kelowna. Our goods were in storage for over a year and it cost thousands of dollars. The move to Kelowna was a disaster. After reading the other reviews I feel like it is a repeat performance and I am kicking myself for not heading the warning signs. Here are the lessons learned that echo other customers: - Moving staff is not professional, a couple of guys who work part time and some kids hired from Craigslist. In our case they brought the kids out by taxi, short paid them and then refused to drive them back! We live in a remote area with no transit. My husband drove them home. - The guys who drove out from Vancouver left Vancouver at 5 am, unloaded and drove back the same day. A 20 hour work day and two amateurs driving large rented rigs down the highway. - They cram ( I mean full force stuffing it in) the furniture into home made strand board containers, any way that fits, whatever it takes without caring whether they are scratching or damaging the furniture. They pull it out at the other end with the same level of disregard. - Mike the owner insists on being paid in full before he delivers. That way you have no leverage for any damages. - One of our containers had mould in it. I now have mould damage to: an antique art deco hutch, a brand new area rug, a very expensive bed frame, 2 dining benches and a wooden trundle bed. - Mike is refusing to answer calls to discuss the damage. Madison, the sales rep said she would send a claim form. None has arrived yet. - I have gouges to the walls in my brand new house - The guys were in such a hurry to get back on the road they piled everything into a heap in my family room. I now have to hire someone to help me move it to where it should have been placed. read more

Do not do business with this company. I hired Galaxy for a Vancouver to Burnaby move. I paid a deposit. They were more than three hours late. They say their staff are trained. One of the two guys was on his first day and complained of no training. He was injured and should not have been working. In fact, he complained to me all day to the point that I was sick of him. They had been working since early morning and were exhausted. They had no food or water and I bought it for them. An expensive sleeping bag just vanished. A sideboard has a nice gash in it. One box clearly marked on all sides as 'very fragile' arrived in my suite crushed in the middle of a pile of boxes. Every time the elevator door opened I cringed as the loaded crashed to the ground. A stereo component's bottom was partially shattered. It would not work when I hooked it up. $200 in repairs. I went down to the van at one point to see a load of boxes almost go over the side of the ramp. They contained model trains. I shuddered. I have emailed the company twice to ask what they intend to do about the missing sleeping bag. They have not responded. Do not do business with this company. read more

Allo Allo, Quick post about my pals at Galaxy. Those dudes worked their but off helping me out. It all started March 30th when another company never showed up. I was desperate called like 5 other companies no one had room lucky for me they had an opening that evening. The worked overtime just to help me out. Now thats service. My family never even helped :P I digress, I needed storage as my new place was not ready so they brought their storage pods loaded them up and thats it....Sooooo easy they never had to unload nothin they just loaded em up and when i moved to my new place they brought em back and just unloaded em. We have just finished unpacking and not even a dish was damaged. These guys must have eaten their weaties as they hustled all day long. Our move was pretty straight forward move from one house to another. The big challenge was the Pool table and all our belongings. That was no problem for the two crews Galaxy sent. They had our place done by dinner time. I was amazed, they sent 5 guys and their move actualy went an hour under their estimate, Great job. Way overpriced, dishonest, disrepectful of my time, "missing" boxes and unboxed items never to be found or returned, rude movers, damaged some of my things, untruthful about size of truck and time needed, got the runaround when I complained. They're only good in the beginning, before you hire them. But when they finally do show up they are late, bring the wrong sized truck, take much too long, and take advantage of my good nature. They brought a truck that already had stuff in it from another person's move. Quote was way off -- the person who's quote was $1100 more is actually lucky, I got nailed for much more. It's been more than two months and my stuff hasn't been "found" nor any of my phone calls returned. Also, I overheard one of the movers talking to his boss about "stretching the time." Do NOT hire this company!! They have no respect for customers' property or belongings & take no responsibility for damage they cause - it's even in their contract!! I have large scratches to my new home's hardwood floors & holes in walls. They create bogus charges, do not respond to multiple e-mails requesting explanations of these charges & my final invoice was almost triple what what estimated. They require the total amount to be paid in full prior to the delivery of your belongings so there's no opportunity to withhold funds in case of errors on their part. They only accept cash or cheque which is one of the main warning signs on the BBB website to indicate questionable companies (I wish I had visited the BBB website first.) The movers 'misplaced' my dining room table's wooden legs in their truck (???) which were apparently shipped to me via Greyhound but never delivered. Galaxy refused to complete a lost shipment claim with Greyhound which indicates to me they may not have sent my misplaced property in the first place. They also have no record of client information after they have received payment. They asked for my address to ship the table legs, 2 days after they had delivered my belongings. This company is AWFUL. Horrible service, rude dispatchers, incompetent. They arrived late, when it was clear we had a 3 hour elevator booking. They showed zero remorse, and when asking for the location of the truck which had not arrived on time on moving day they hung up. This was the most unsatisfying experience I've had with a company in a while. I as able to reach them quickly enough for the estimate, but after that it was impossible to reach them - I called up to 20 times a day for a few days trying to confirm a pickup date. Got a call back once - the owner said they would call back again the next day to confirm details and never did. Nobody every picked up the phone, they didn't reply to email, and a few times I called and the operator said the number was unassigned. I rarely write reviews on the internet and I've never written a negative one but my experience with this company was so horrible that I felt that it was my duty to warn other people. Here's what happened: I had a small one bedroom apartment. My partner is disabled and I can't lift due to a surgery so we decided to hire movers. During the pre-move call, Galaxy did the expected thing and asked us questions about what we had, what the apartment building was like, etc. On the day of the move, everything was packed and ready to go. The movers showed up on time and got started. After moving three big heavy boxes into the lobby, they drove away without telling us where they were going or why. We waited and waited and eventually called the company. We were informed that the driver had decided that he wasn't feeling well and couldn't move us that day. The receptionist then proceeded to blame us for not giving them more information about the amount of stuff we had, even though we had answered all their questions during the pre-move call and as a moving company, it's THEIR job to handle logistics, not ours. So there we were, all packed up and needing to be out of the apartment by the end of the day, and they tell us that they cannot get anyone else to help us. I reminded them that my partner was disabled and that I couldn't lift and that they had left three heavy boxes sitting in our lobby. She didn't care. They ruined our day and made our move (which is always stressful to begin with) wayyyy more stressful but instead of doing anything at all to be helpful, she treated us as if we were an inconvenience. I was nervous booking these guys after the reviews I read. I decided to go ahead because it was the best deal for what I needed: Short term storage while I moved out of one place and was not sure where I was moving next. My friends were not available to move stuff into a pod so I decided to make the leap and go for some professional movers. I asked Madison, the receptionist, about the crappy reviews and she assured me that I could count on them to do a good job. People get ultra-stressed during moving time, they underestimate their stuff, so that when the movers arrive the job is way bigger and the cost goes up and the customer gets angry. Anyway, I had all my stuff boxed and ready to go. I wrapped my art pieces in newspaper, I wrapped cardboard around my mirrors, I was as ready as I could be. Madison called me the day before and asked if I was willing to move ahead to the day before. I was not willing to. I said I could move a day later if she needed. She told me if I didn't hear from her, then we were good to go as scheduled. The day of the move I called about a half hour before our scheduled time and asked if we were good to go. She said they were running behind due to the previous job completely underestimating their load. Those people said they had barely any furniture and the movers arrived to greet a whole pile of heavy oak furniture and had to recruit another mover to handle it. I was cool as long as we were going to make the move that day. She said they'd be at my place by 5. Sure enough, Josh and Robbie arrived as she told me they would. They were super pleasant, they worked magic to fit everything in to the storage unit. My move was completed in about 1 hour and 20 minutes plus the travel time which was clearly quoted to me and in total I was well under the 3 hour minimum. What an experience! January 4, 2012 I was asked to do two things... Find someone to donate our old office furniture to and notify the storage facility that we were planning on moving our stuff from their facility and will no longer require their services. I took this task with great joy knowing that our office furniture was going to a good cause until... I called Galaxy. What a sorry excuse for a business and the person that works in the office should be ashamed of herself when she looks in the mirror. I rarely come across people as abbrasive as Galaxy Girl was towards me and I still to this day do not fully understand why she took our moving out so personally. So on the day of January 4th I found a wonderful community program that would take our beloved 2 year old furniture and I called Galaxy to make the arrangements. I said who I was, where I was calling from and the reason why I was calling and right at that very moment the bad attitude showed its ugly head. she told me that we were not allowed to access our storage without 30 notice (just to access it) and then told me it was in the contract. I said I was sorry I didn't realize that was the case since I was not the one who signed the agreement. So I was asked if I would like a copy of said agreement that I declined because I could have found the copy that was signed in our office. After getting off the phone she decided to send a copy anyhow with a message stating "that the girl I just spoke to was confused so please see the attached contract". I really should thank Galaxy Girl for that one because when she decided to try and over charge us or tell me that they do not allow any other company to move our belongings from the storage facility we rent I just looked at the contract she sent me. After her attitude the first time I spoke with Galaxy Girl I asked to speak to a manager who apparently exist but does not have a direct line, is never in the office and does have his own email address but it turned out the one she gave me was her own (also another reason I should thank her for emailing me that contract).So after further examing the contract I discovered it was just 10 days notice required to access our locker and the 30 days were only recommended. It also turns out that you can have other people move you stuff but they will charge you a minimum of 3 Hours at a $135.00/hr for one of the movers to come late making you wait for 20 mins while he goes and smokes pot before opening your storage locker. To sum it up I was yelled at by Galaxy Girl, I never did receive that call from Brent Davies so called owner/ manager, the other moving company was hung up on and Galaxy Girl refused to give them the address where they were holding our stuff hostage, we had to pay 453.60 for some stoned guy to come and stand there while we were unloading the locker. Not once did we ever default on a payment and not once did we contact them until we didn't need their services so I do not understand why this was such a difficult transaction. In conclusion I would not wish my worst enemy use this company or its services. Please if you do decide to use Galaxy mobile storage READ THE CONTRACT AND YOU WILL SEE ALL THE HIDDEN FEES. read more

If I could give this business 0 stars, I would. PLEASE NEVER GIVE YOUR MONEY TO THESE PEOPLE. I wish I had done more research before I made the decision to give galaxy movers and storage/quick and careful moving a call. I decided to give these guys a shot because I needed to have our furniture picked up on one day, stored, then redelivered three days later. The pick up wasn't too bad, as they only broke one thing, an electric heater. The redelivery/storage was much worse. The movers damaged our sofa, completely ruined our coffee table, scuffed up our walls and banged up a computer chair. They noticed that our sofa was damaged so they took pictures and told us that they would give us a call the following Monday. LIE. After days of waiting, we called them back, multiple times. Never heard back from them. We decided to try and reach quick and careful as they told us that they were "the same company" and that one handled storage, and the other moving (or something to that effect). We were told to email them, and we did. Once again, we hear nothing back. When we were lucky enough to reach someone, they said "I'm so sorry, we'll email you immediately". ANOTHER LIE. I decided to call once again, and this time, try to reach a manager/supervisor. The guy that answered said he was one, and when I told him my problem, he told me to email a completely different email than the one I was previously given. So once again, like an idiot, I try to get some sort of response to no avail. It is clear to me that these guys are a bunch of unprofessional, money hungry liars, who will avoid you at all costs if you try to get some sort of reimbursement from them (due to their terrible quality services). TL;DR - They will take your money, damage your things, then avoid you at all costs so they don't have to correct their mistakes. read more

Worse moving company out there, the owner is extremely rude. Moving my stuff and taking it to their storage was fine... But moving my stuff back was completely a different story. I called them and book my moving date ahead of the time but just a night before the moving date they called me and they told me they are not able to do the moving, I was shocked, however I made another appointment for 2 weeks later since I had to go back to Alberta for work, came back and unbelievably same story happened again... I could not believe it... End up buying an air mattress and moved with that to an empty apartment. Talked to the owner he was so rude and did not even apologize for their mistake. I was about to call police to be able to get my stuff back from them, they didn't wanna deliver it and I couldn't even call a different company to do the moving for me since they use containers to store your stuff... Galaxy Moving and Storage lived up to their reputation. Me and my husband had to move two separate locations, Our home in West Vancouver, a Grand piano and a snooker table. We moved to a bigger house so we had our storage locker and our home moved all together. They sent one truck to our storage while the other crew took apart our pool table and grand piano. I had tried a few other companies and no one could do all the work them selves they either wanted us to hire a piano moving company and or a pool table moving company. We finally found Galaxy Moving and they were able to accommodate everything on the same day and on one bill. They did a fantastic job. They took the piano apart and reassembled it like masters. The pool table had hundreds of screws and staples and it only took them about an hour to take it all apart. We had bought a new cloth and they installed that and stretched it into place perfectly (At no extra cost i might add) I am very happy to recommend Galaxy and will definitely use them for all our future moves, which i hope wont be too soon.
