As you may know, any dentist can do Invisalign, they don't even need to be orthodontist. You want an orthodontist for this, and Dr. Liao is an orthodontist. Even though he went through 4 extra years of training.. he does not charge more than your dentist... but he does it better. Dr Lao gave us the best quote for Invisalign, and did not charge for the evaluation. I live far from his office, so the staff made it convenient to schedule to do a quick pick up our mouth trays when needed. It's worth the trip from the city, or the other direction. I'm a busy guy... and I appreciate that the front office values my time. I don't spend much time in the waiting room, and they process my insurance paperwork fast. My wife is in the home stretch with her treatment and couldn't be happier with her straight white teeth. I've been very hard on my teeth.. I've had 10 different dentists, orthodontists and oral surgeons poke around my mouth, of all different skill levels and they all left their mark. I originally came to Dr Liao because of his reputation as top Invisalign provider. I still use him now that I am finished. I live nowhere near his office, but I realize the value of my teeth and Dr Liao has helped make mine look their best. He is young, well trained and uses the newest techniques. We booked after checking reviews and confirming our insurance was accepted. We arrived on time and started our paperwork when they took us in. The beginning was great the staff who took our X-rays was very nice, gentle, and went above and beyond to make us comfortable. He was especially patient with my mom, whose first language is not English. The experience went downhill during the rest of the visit. While waiting for the dentist, we were put in separate consult rooms to finish consent forms. I was able to finish mine, but my mom needed more time. The dental hygienist, Effie, continually raised her voice at my mom as if she were a child, pressuring her to finish signing. I could hear all of this couple of rooms down. That attitude continued with both of us. My cleaning was the most painful I've ever had. My gums and teeth hurt severely from the sensitivity and aggressive scraping. I expected some discomfort, but not this much pain and bleeding. Throughout it, she was giving me instructions in a condescending tone, as if I were a child, while I was in obvious pain. During the cleaning, water and blood ran down my neck and splashed on my face and clothes. She would wipe it, but only after it had already reached my clothes. When she finished, she just handed me a cup of Listerine and walked out. She did not check-in, no aftercare instructions about when I could eat or what to avoid. She also told me to floss and then immediately asked if I even knew what flossing was. It was highly unprofessional and rude. Even if she was having a bad day, she should not be treating with patients like that. Neither my mom nor I were ever disrespectful to her. No one on staff intervened despite her raising her voice at my mom multiple times. Dr. Dalco herself only did a quick, couple-minute check-up, which was fine, and the X-ray staff was wonderful which is why this is not a one-star review. However, we will not be returning. No one deserves to be treated like that.

As a healthcare professional myself, I'm sure that I asked a ton of questions that he usually wouldn't have to answer. Dr. Moon patiently answered all of them and explained all procedures and work done as he was doing it. I had quite a bit of dental work done with him. He is a perfectionist in his work and I appreciated his attention to detail. Not only was Dr. Moon great, his assistant was also very helpful as I strategically minimized my co-pay. This was probably my best experience as a patient and I would strongly recommend Dr. Moon!

I never ever had a single issue at my old dentist in manhattan after 9 cavities and them using that big ass needle to numb my mouth. The ONLY reason I switched was because my insurance. Never had an issue at my Brooklyn dentist either with cavities but switched that one because I moved to jersey. Compared to my other dentist, he barely uses the topical and then goes all in with the needle. I don't give a shit how gentle you thought you were. Damn thing hurt and I lost it. Meanwhile he's like "I've never had this happen before and can't have you yelling. It makes me uncomfortable." And I'm thinking how the hell does he work on kids then? He says he's very gentle. Sure about that? I have never hit the roof like that ever. My old dentist used the same needle. I tried asking whether enough topical was on as my old dentist numbed the crap out of me but for the most part I was dismissed. I let him do the cavities he could do today and said no way to the deep clean on the top right because I'm not going to do 1/4 of my mouth and go home. He didn't feel comfortable with my response to my pain so the bottom right was out. So when I declined the deep clean, he goes how he already gave me the numbing crap for the top. I declined anyway and he goes "have a good day" quickly and walks out immediately whether I had a response or not. Um ok? I will not be returning to a place where I'm just a faceless patient on the schedule and my son will not be going here ever. Two stars for the very nice staff/assistants and very clean office. But I'd rather pay out of pocket in the city for quality dentistry than sit and cry in a chair in pain. I love how he says it's not my fault but leaves and doesn't come back until I'm done being upset. No compassion whatsoever. I find it very hard to believe none of your patients ever get that upset.
