I didn't sign a contract nor did I receive a receipt for the consultation fee. The following day, I canceled my appointment before ever visiting the office or meeting with the physician. I was then informed that the consultation fee was non-refundable. At no time during the call was I advised that canceling the appointment would result in forfeiture of the fee. Although the office later refunded my payment as a "one-time courtesy," I do not believe a courtesy was warranted. I believe I was entitled to a refund because I received no services and never agreed to forfeit my payment under those circumstances. While I have been pleased with the medical care provided by the physicians, I found the office's business practices regarding consultation fees to be unfair and lacking in transparency. I hope the office clearly discloses this policy to future patients before accepting payment.

Within a few minutes, Chivante, the Medical Assistant, came out and brought me into the examination room, followed by Allison Sammons, the dermatologist. During my appointment, I clearly told the doctor I…read morewanted 50 units injected into my jawline to address jowls, and that I wished to save the remaining 50 units for a future visit. He agreed. After leaving me in the room for a while, he came back and completed the injections. When I checked out, I confirmed that I had only received treatment for one area, not two. A little over a month later, I called to schedule my next appointment to use the remaining 50 units. The receptionist pulled up my account and told me all 100 units had already been used. I explained there had to be a mistake, and she said she would check with the doctor. She later informed me that he claimed to have used the full 100 units at that first visit. I was shocked. I asked for documentation showing where and how many units were injected, and was told they do not record that information. I have never encountered a provider who doesn't keep detailed records for this type of service. It was very troubling to learn that the doctor did not follow what we agreed upon. I honestly do not believe he used all 100 units, but even if he did, it was unethical because I explicitly requested only 50 and specified the area of treatment. If he chose to make changes, he did not inform me or obtain my consent. Based on my experience, I believe this doctor is unethical. I strongly recommend choosing a reputable provider who honors both their Groupon offers and the agreements made during consultation.
