Get some gas - get a snack inside - or buy some McDonald's for lunch - pick up a last minute gift for your daughter you see once a year and forgot her birthday three years in row.... Decent size truck stop, good amount of parking But guessing it fills up at night as there is not a lot Of choice around this area. Has private showers inside and very clean restrooms. There is a subway and McDonald's restaurants here Plus they have all the other truck stop food choices, Hot dogs snacks etc. This is on the east side of US 31 and worth a visit If traveling towards Indy or south bend. read more

Early morning drive north and needed a coffee refill. Sign on the door clearly says please wear a mask. Good! Walk inside and immediately see three staff members all with their mask below their chin. Why pretend you're wearing one at all? A quick scan of customers and not a single person has a mask anywhere in sight. Coffee is a 1/10 only because it's hot. Staff friendliness 0/10. She couldn't be bothered to speak let alone lift up her mask while preparing filters full of ground coffee with bare hands and placing them on top of the coffee makers for later use. Woefully undersized for the amount of business they have passing through here. Way too few gasoline pumps, cars backed out onto the road waiting to both get into a pump or get into the McDonald's drive through line. I stopped in here 6 or 7 years ago and again over the weekend. Both times were ridiculously overcrowded so I see they haven't bothered to expand and modernize in the interim. read more

We have been traveling 31 from South Bend to Indianapolis for 25 years and have always stopped here for a pit stop and possible food. It has always been a great stop, but lately this stop has gone down hill. This last time we stopped it was the worst I have seen. The bathrooms were filthy. With 3 people behind one register why are the bathrooms neglected? No toilet paper, toilets in desperate need of attention and dirty floors. What is going on? In the future we will keep driving to another stop. So sad to see this happen! read more

We have been regular customers of the travel plaza as we drive through Indiana on a regular basis. I was disturbed this evening as the man in line in front of me was served without a mask on and three others were walking around in a close vicinity without masks. Ironically, there is a sign posted right in front of the cashier that says masks are mandatory. I brought this up with the on-site manager who had a mask under her chin covering neither her mouth or her nose and she just shrugged. I would recommended a different stop until the pandemic is behind us. This is not a safe environment. . read more

I am a truck stop junkie, and proud of it! What's there not to love about a store that sells everything from a pack of gum to a chrome step board for a 1983 Kenworth, plus an all you can eat buffet?!?!?! In college, these travel centers (as we call them in the biz) were spring break oasis' for tired and weary students, criss-crossing their way from destinations like South Padre Island and Daytona Beach. As adults, we still find these rest stops as a necessity as we travel for work or family trips. Sure, we may no longer be in search of an 89 cent 64-ounce fountain drink to help cut down a fifth of rum, but these places still serve a valuable purpose. For me, I have to travel across this great state to clients and often times find myself traveling on US 31. When I need a break, I always stop off at Gallahan's Travel Center. Whether you're traveling north or south, there's easy access off the highway and ample parking. They recently renovated this location to include a 24 hour McDonalds, and Subway, in addition to the normal truck-stop fare. I drive from Indy to Goshen at least twice a month, and I stop at Gallahan on every trip. It's nothing fancy, but they have everything you need: gas, subway, McDonald's, coffee, and basic goods (ear plugs ). It's clean and convenient to go to. They have a rewards program that earns rewards for purchases. It is not exclusive to this store, so join and keep your card on you when you visit other gas stations within a 15 mile radius. read more

This is our usual pit stop place when we have to travel between Indianapolis and South Bend on the US 31 highway. The bathrooms have always been clean. They have both a McDonalds and a Subway as well as all the typical convenience store items. I never leave without getting some of their fresh popped popcorn for the road. It tastes just like movie theatre popcorn. The only thing I really don't like here is the parking/traffic flow. It's usually a bit of a mess. read more

The travel plaza is smaller than the chain ones but it does indeed have everything you could need and it's very well protected by LEO. I saw more police that night than I did over my whole trip from Los Angeles, CA to Sandusky, OH. read more

Very typical travel plaza with McDonalds and Subway but with horrible placement of gas pumps, especially for hauling vehicles (trucks with trailers). I prefer the old plaza and it's exceptionally good family restaurant which was always crowded with happy travelers and locals. read more

The employees are also pretty rude and nasty to their customers. I went up to the check out desk to make my purchase and the lady gave me the shittiest look. After not saying a word to me and checking out my items, another employee let her know her closed sign wasn't turned around. How about don't treat your customers like crap when they're trying to buy stuff? Don't know the lady's name but she was older and blonde. Not to mention she was loudly trash talking previous customers when I walked up. Wish I could give 0 out of 10 for her attitude. read more

Bathrooms a pretty clean for a truck stop and they have a subway and McDonalds. The people that work there are very nice and inviting.

I avoid this place at all costs. The McDonald's is great but the Gallahan employees are some of the unfriendliest people at any of the truck stops I stop at. I don't get it, if you don't enjoy working around people find another job. I always give people the benefit of " having a bad day" but that's not the case here read more
