Nice staff, beds not bad. If you have a dog... why not…read more They take dogs. TV works. Room in main hotel that was booked they said was not available... we got pushed to another building... Daily: we can hear everything in all the rooms beside and above...kids screaming, dogs barking , people talking and walking above you at all hours . Room was on first floor next to office on main walk way... could not open curtains unless you were comfortable being on display..we were not... Maybe a higher floor to have some privacy and use of your window? Water in bath had good pressure. Window AC and no sign of heat...it dropped to the 40's for 3 nights and was cold. Cold air leaked in everywhere as all of the windows are 75 yrs old, not operational and several attempts to caulk them shut...unsuccessful in the leak department. The neighborhood was nice... would stay in the area again.... But will check out the room before accepting. Shame on Hotels.com for misrepresenting this hotel. Depending on the room, time of year and budget...it may be palatable. Our experience was "meh" and not "yuck" only because we we were out every day at activities and that was great fun and being with family.

The rooms aren't extravagant but are nice enough and get the job done. They do have a hotel pool available to use too, and the prices here are pretty reasonable as well. We would stay here again.

I have a few complaints, though...when I checked in at 11pm it was almost impossible to find anybody. There were lights on in the office, rang the doorbell 4 times, called the listen phone number multiple times: nothing. Until a man's voice showed up on the other end of the doorbells 5th push. That's one of my biggest qualms about La Casa: it's impossible to get ahold of someone, day or night. I called the next day because the smoke alarm in my room had kept me up all night with the annoying 'low battery' beep that it was making. No answer. Needed more towels because housekeeping tried to come clean while I was still in bed, called, no answer. So if you're not as high maintenance as me, and don't mind a lack of support from your hosts, then this could be a 5/5 for you--because in every other way, it's a beautiful place to stay. I would probably even come back because I loved the room and location THAT much, but the lack of customer service representation for such a large 'resort' completely took me off guard.

Its location…read moreis great - in a peaceful, safe Fort Lauderdale neighborhood, just one block from the beach. There are a few parking spots available near the hotel if you are coming there by car. The property has a small but nice swimming pool with sun chairs around, surrounded by many tropical trees that give a lovely vibe. My check-in was fast and easy. The hotel's front desk staff were always sweet and friendly. There was a 24-hour front desk, and someone was always there even late at night. I stayed in a Studio with King Bed (#206), which was spacious and very clean, but it felt a bit worn out overall and could use a facelift. Unfortunately, my room was not soundproof; I could clearly hear noise from the outside walkway. The only window in the room faced the walkway, so people could see inside, leaving me with no privacy. Because of that, I had to keep the curtains closed, which made the room dark with no natural daylight. The room had both an air conditioner and a fan-lamp, which was a big plus for me because I hate using air conditioning, so I always kept the fan above my bed on. The King bed was comfortable. I appreciated the large refrigerator that could fit a lot of drinks. The closet section was big and included a luggage bench, but there were just a few hangers in the closet. The bathroom was spacious enough and had a medium-size bathtub. The bathroom amenities were of good quality and had a pleasant scent. The bathroom had an old wall-mounted hairdryer that had yellowed with age. Plus, there was no toilet brush. The bathroom towels were thin and cheap-quality. The hotel's Wi-Fi worked fast. The rate I paid - $127 per night including taxes and fees - was overpriced for such a basic hotel; I believe the price should be about half. Would I stay at this hotel again? Probably not. Can I recommend it? Yes, but only if the price isn't as high as what I paid, and only for a short stay!

All the thoughtful little details, they add up to so much in making a simple stay a luxurious reprieve. A well stocked kitchen; paring knife? Why yes! Cutting board? Why yes! Pretty glassware? Why yes! A glass vase? Certainly! A full Brita of chilled water waiting in the fridge, welcoming and refreshing. In Unit A, our unit, each room is thoughtfully decorated, pretty in both form (refined, lustrous grasscloth wallpaper complemented with splashes of tangerine fabrics) and function (USB plug-ins on both sides of the bed, excellent, supportive and comfortable lap mattress). Throughout, there are drawers galore, closet space, crisp linens and loads of extra fluffy white bath towels if needed. A lovely extra cotton comforter in the closet to wrap up in on the couch with your loved one and watch the telly after the day of playing. Sitting areas with thoughtfully placed tables for your libations, demure artwork adding a sense of chic, and lifestyle. Everywhere there is something to gaze at, whether it's Freddie Mercury gracefully placed, beautifully sultry line drawings, or ikat wallpaper and a maltalesse covered lounge looking into the tropical back garden. Here you will find a lovely mix of modern and vintage in a beautifully refined and relaxing space. All this creates a sense of comfort and style and that's just the inside. Outside you have a marvelously private patio, complete with both a sitting area and lounging area, perfect for an evening glass of wine and a morning cup of coffee while enjoying the balmy magic of this place. This gem, is of course, in an ideal location. We were able to stroll through the charming neighborhood to the tequila & taco bar around the corner where we had a lively and fun evening (ask for Richard, he'll make sure the bartender gives you an extra tasty spicy pineapple margarita). Most importantly, I cannot say enough about our fantastic hosts, Robert and Jason. Their communication was excellent, I received responses within a few minutes when I needed to touch base. Also, we had the opportunity to meet Robert, who is absolutely wonderful, and we found out that lo and behold we have Palm Desert in California in common! Fancy that! We appreciated the preparation and care that our hosts put into providing information; local hotspots for dining, bar outings, museums, shopping and the like. A clear scoop on the local area is provided; whom to call if the need arises, and other interesting tidbits, complied neatly into a binder for reference. They even have a website, an instagram and a facebook page. It is clear that Robert & Jason really care about providing a comfortable and charming home away from home. We cannot believe how lucky we are to have found Wilton Manors/The Pink Door. A big thank you to our charming hosts, we absolutely look forward to our next visit!
