Small native american shop and gallery, selling jewelry, art, home decor and gifts…read more This is one of those times where I didn't feel much attraction to the store's product, but I appreciated what I saw. I would have no qualms about shopping this store for gifts if I knew the recipient were a fan of southwestern art, or to buy something for the kids' schools. It reflects my values in other ways, i.e., it's a local business, the product seems well-made, plus they do a little more to educate the community on the culture. They present musicians, storytellers, etc., which I'd like to check out with my older daughter. The wares are made by native american artisans who learned their skill at home in the southwest. I picked up a pamphlet on the Red Feather Development Group which described their American Indian Sustainable Housing Initiative. It addresses the housing crisis on indian reservations by mobilizing tribal members to build homes using environmentally sustainable materials and techniques, in this case straw baling. I don't know if the store donates part of their sales to the group, but the owner has volunteered for them. The owner also shows her commitment to native american concerns by lecturing and serving on local native american boards.

BEWARE THESE TWO . In my opinion, they are crooks. My story…read moreis simple on 11/16of 24 I brought two paintings in for them to sell on consignment. Attached is a photo of the contract. They were Livingston Vincent Garrity paintings. Attached our two photos of the paintings. I paid Cheryl's husband right away and we drew up a contract and agreed on a 50-50 split . We stayed in contact and Cheryl's husband told me that the paintings were sold for 4000.00and he is waiting for a check or money transfer. This was/20/24 I stopped in right before Christmas to get paid and Cheryl's husband informed me they are still waiting for the money transfer , the paintings were shipped He assured me as soon as the funds were in his bank account, he would Zelle me the money . So I left for Florida. We kept in contact through tax and it was one excuse after another no money was sent. So I get back to Illinois early March 3/13/25 at this point I am calling him and texting him . Finally, he sends me $100. Well, I'm only 1900 short , so I continue calling them and nothing. Now we are getting heated , on 3/25 / 25 they send 500.00. So I called and no answer again., I text no answer, so at this point, I have an Attorney send them a letter. Now I get another 500 making me short 900 At this point, I am getting extremely angry and we start texting some more. Cheryl's husband calls me Avenatti the attorney that went after Donald J Trump. I'm sorry this is all uncalled for all over $2000 so now we can go to court. And I will expect proof of sale, for all I know they could've sold the paintings for $40,000. In my opinion, these two are the modern day Bonnie and Clyde. Definitely crooks so beware doing any business with them. There is no reason to ignore the phone after your husband told me the paintings were sold for $4000 in December. And he promised the money would be zelled right after Christmas to my account. Crooks is what you are

I had installed it into my present house and my wife and I enjoyed looking at it every time we walked into our bedroom. Last year I noticed the glass was coming out of the leading holding it together. Upon further investigation I realized that the wood frame was rotted on the outside causing the issue. The glass was literally sinking out of the frame. After searching the internet I stumbled across Art Glass and Studio. I'm sure glad I did. Lawrence (Law) was a pleasure to work with! He was honest and realistic about his timeframe for assessing the situation and actually getting the work started and finished. I really appreciated that he let us know that he is a busy guy handling a number of projects at the same time but would give our window his utmost attention when our time came. He gave us plenty of options for the repairs working with our budget and suggesting different methods for reinstallation of the window. The option we chose was to make the window a decorative piece instead of an actual permanent window. That way if we move again or our children want the window to stay in the family after we're gone it will be easier to move it to the next place. When it came time for our window to be worked on, I removed it from our house (my choice to save money) and took it over to his shop. Law started on it and kept us informed as to how it was going. Once started, he finished it quickly and it looks great! In this day and age of "bait and switch" it was such a pleasure to work with someone who actually does what he says and does great work. This window was built around 1870 and thanks to Art Glass and Studio (Law) it should have another 150 years of in it. I highly recommend them

I would really suggest anyone looking to add beauty to their home or office at least stop by Art Post (or visit their website) because what they offer is a wonderful alternative to the outrageous prices and narrow vision of many of the other Chicago area art galleries. Chris and Michael are not at all pushy and genuinely want you to love what you purchase. Every room in my home feels bright and cheerful and makes me smile, largely because of what I've taken home from Art Post in the past two years.

I spent a lot of time examining the artwork on their website ahead of time and love how they let you search by style, size and other options that makes the art buying process a little easier. I had admired a few paintings on their site, but of course nothing beats seeing something in person. And the same paintings I liked on the site were even better in person. I liked one, Uplifting Light, so much that I asked Chris if she could photoshop it into the room I've been looking for. She said an even better option was to take it home for the weekend. She was also super helpful on what frames would work best and I loved that they could frame the painting right in their store - and she said they could hang it too! I filled out some information, gave her my credit card # and I loaded up my SUV. Turns out SUVs are good for something besides carpooling children around.. Once home I was so excited to see the painting in my family room since I was certain this was the "one." I'm so glad Chris let me try it out because while I loved the painting on it's own it just didn't work in the room- the size was wrong, the colors clashed with the colors in my room, etc. And so a few days later I sadly brought it back and handed it to Michael who was very understanding about the situation. I actually did find another painting at a different gallery over the weekend that I believe is the "one" after trying it out in the room, but I will definitely be back to Art Post Gallery when ready to find art for other rooms in my house.
