Gallery Furniture is the best!!! I had been "eyeing" the Cougar Living room collection forover a year...my "want" became a need when I accidently broke my right knee cap! (tripped over a throw rug) in my home office area. I decided after 3 nights of NO sleep for 3 days---tried sleeping in my recliner and did not know how uncomfortable it would be (my bedrooms are upstairs), a friend told me my "want" has become a "need"...all I needed to hear to give GF a call! Since I was unable to get to the furniture store, I decided to call and talk with a salesperson. I reached Daryl Mouton and he did an amazing job listening to my needs and desires and immediately sent me pics of the set along with dimensions and pricing, so I could select the color I most liked. He quickly took care of in-house interest free financing for me---the entire interaction took less than 30 minutes! Three hours later two awesome delivery guys showed up dressed like they were going to an office job---very professional, and super helpful!!! They removed my existing furniture which I no longer wanted and set up the new set and even gave me ideas how to best utilize the space I have in my somewhat small living room. They handled everything with extreme care and connected everything and explained to me how to use all the bells and whistles that come with the set. Finally, I went from 2-3 hours sleep per night to 6-8 hours and since the recliner on the sofa reclined far back with the touch of a button, I was able to enjoy a great night sleep---felt like I was sleeping in a bed!!! Can't express how thrilled I am with the new furniture that offers so much in terms of features I didn't expect! Better than what I saw in the TV commercials. The very next day, Mattress Mac (Jim) himself, called me to see how my experience was---I was blown away---the OWNER of a major furniture corporation called ME! I can't say enough about how happy I am with this new furniture!!! My daughter purchased two mattresses from here and the first one had to be returned due to not being able to adjust so she returned and bought a 6000 dollar mattress that was supposed to be the best but when she got it home she is not able to sleep on it at all it's as hard as a rock I feel she was mislead big time. We have always bought our furniture here but never again. I actually spoke with Mac himself, and he told me to call and speak to service department well that didn't help at all nothing was resolved just told that she couldn't exchange it was a onetime policy. In March of this year we purchased 2 leather recliners for $4200+ each. Mr. Mc Ingvale's TV ads portray these recliners as virtually indestructible (spillproof and stain resistant). One of these recliners has become badly discolored in the area of a man's left shoulder. The discoloration is approximately 4" x 6" in the area a man's shoulder blade. Gallery Furniture asked for a photograph of the damaged area. When I called a few days later, they had not received a definitive response from the manufacturer, but offered a suggestion that "body oils" could cause this damage. That would suggest contact with bare skin, which never happens because I always wear a shirt. The back of my neck just isn't that large. I'm disappointed with this type of response, but maybe the chair manufacturer will come with a solution that will be mutually satisfactory. We'll see how Jim McIngvale stays behind the quality of his products and customer service. read more

Instead of quickly offering recommendations, he analyzed our needs and proposed a perfect piece of sofa set. Not pushy - only providing us with the information we needed to make the best decision. I've visited 8 stores in the past week, and this is the first time that I've been impressed with a salesperson. Impressed enough to dedicate this review to him. The pricing might be higher than some of the other furniture stores, but you get what you pay for. Every piece of furniture I've bought has stood the test of time! I went to the Grandparkway location for the first time. Unfortunately nobody there bothers to wear a mask. I guess customer care does not extend to the health of the customer. We heard of Mac's promotion of free furniture if a Texas team won the NCAA tournament, so we stopped by and found a wonderful Temper-pedic bed and a very nice sectional sofa with ottoman. If you've lived in Houston for a while you know that slogan by heart, and probably shouted it while waiving a fist full of bills in the air (God bless you, Mattress Mac). I've lived in Houston my whole life and, unfortunately, until now I haven't ever bought furniture from Mattress Mac. I know, gasp, what have I even been doing calling myself a Houstonian?? Well, I finally came in the position of my adult life where I needed a whole set of furniture and could actually afford to buy it somewhere other than Craigslist, so the hubs and I trekked off the Gallery Furniture. I had checked them out online to see if there was anything that had caught my eye, and they had a few living room sets that I liked a lot. I wasn't sure what to expect when we arrived- maybe some pushy salesman who tries to up-sell us on everything. But we were created by an immaculately clean store that smelled like fresh furniture and leather.... mmmm! We were also greeted nicely by Christian, the associated that helped us decide on the perfect living room set. He was friendly, accommodating, and had really helpful suggestions and recommendations based on what we shared about our living circumstances and needs. He was a pleasure to work with, and I highly recommend him if you're in the market for new furniture. The store was also deceptively large. On the outside it seemed to be too small to house all the furniture you could want for your home, but the rooms and displays just kept coming the further back we walked. They even have sample home theater setups where you can check out seating styles and arrangements! We opted for the same day home delivery, and that includes them hauling your old furniture away and setting up the new. Definitely worth the money to save the headaches and fights that we would've had trying to do it all ourselves! They do offer financing if that's something you want/need. I spent the past 3 days shopping around at a very wide variety of Houston furniture stores. All of the quality furniture stores told me it would be anywhere from 4-8 weeks to get any couch to me. The outlet furniture stores had low-quality and low-stock and again would be a 2-4 week delivery. Gallery Furniture was one of the last stores on my list because I thought their merchandise might have another extended delivery time. I went in and surprisingly our salesman Greg told us anything on the floor could be delivered TODAY. (Note: these aren't floor samples for sale, they're new and are sent out from their warehouse and cleaned before they get to you - all same day.) I was thrilled. Quality of the merchandise was incredible. I got exactly what I wanted for a very fair price. Additionally Greg was a very knowledgable and thorough salesman and explained Gallery's extensive and reasonably priced 5-year fabric cleaning warranty. He also sent a thoughtful follow-up email about an hour later - it's the nice touches that count. The cherry on top was the delivery team. Two guys arrived and were so courteous and did an incredible job. Delivery was about 6 hours after my in-store purchase. They even helped my mom and I carry another heavy piece of furniture up the stairs (didn't even ask them, they just stepped in!) Plus they took all of my huge moving boxes that I had neglected to throw away and recycled them for me! Seriously best delivery experience of my life. I will be a repeat customer. read more

They are pricier than what I was initially comfortable with, but the prices are completely justified by the quality of product and top notch customer service. Based on my experience with Gallery Furniture, I would say that not all locations are the same. Yes, their prices may be identical, but the service is far from equal! I went to this location today because of the high reviews on Yelp. I was greeted by Ralph, who explained he was somewhat new. He had someone else (Mike) come answer questions on some of the nicer sets. However, I felt he cared about discovering my needs and then trying to meet them. I spent about two hours here without him making a sale. Bottom line, I needed some time to think about this furniture prior to making a decision. He did "ask for the sale" a few times, but earned the right to do so. This is much different than the experience I had at the Richmond location (see my review for that location). I appreciate Ralph's low pressure approach (though he did try to close me many times). He did not try to sell me something that I did not want to buy, just because it was "close". His approach is perfect. The only thing preventing five stars here is that they charge $200 per piece for ordering different fabric for their sofas...they have so many choices available and I probably would have purchased if I could have one of the other options for the same price. Still, I will probably be back, even though I had a negative experience at the Richmond store. read more

We bought an expensive recliner sofa (more than $5K) less than a year ago. Two months ago one of the motors went out but there were no replacement motors in stock. So now it is two months later and although the promised replacement motor is supposed to be here mid November, it still has not arrived nor do they know when it will be in stock. We had to move this sofa to another room since it is not working and we are expecting to host our family for Thanksgiving so this is a problem. I have known a few others who have had this same problem. It is interesting to me that you can buy furniture that is delivered the same day but when there is a problem (non-working part/motor), there are no replacements. Seems like it must be known this is a problem with certain pieces of their furniture with motors. At this point, I am ready for Gallery to pick up the sofa and take it out of my home.
