Bought a mattress from here a few months ago and just went back to buy another. Great mattress and great experience overall. Dustin knows everything there is to know about organic mattresses. He spent a lot of time with me finding the right mattress and explaining the differences between each. He even steered me away from a more expensive mattress because he thought the cheaper one was a better deal. I got the Waterloo with a topper for my guest room and the store's all latex model for the master. I had a Helix before and the these are way more comfortable (and 100% organic). The mattresses they carry and make are excellent quality. They have options that I have heard of and was interested in but were not carried in other stores to try out. I worked with Steve who is incredibly knowledgable and was able to help me select the best option for me based on my preferences and concerns, such as back pain. He just made the process easy and comfortable. He was patient and not pushy at all. (I loved how he shared that he is a "girl dad" and just gets it.) I am really happy with my choice and experience. I went into this store lookin for a mattress and the sales guy was ok at first meet . I've been shopping around for a mattress because if im planning on spending over 3K for a mattress I need to make this a definite choice. As he's talking he's confused on how im trying the mattresses & I told him I don't want to waste time laying on a texture I don't like and I've been to 4 other stores so atp im familiar with what I like and don't . Planned on asking more after I decided which I preferred... the guy would make condescending comments which started to give racist in my mind. The comments would continue and so I told him when I need you I'll come ask for the help because it started to get uncomfortable as if I couldn't afford to be in there especially when he noted my friend was sitting on a 36k mattress. Then as im trying another bed he's like "if you had to try 4 other stores then you obviously DK what you're looking for" and when I said yeah you know you're about to make me walk up out of here then it was silent .. then my friend ask a comment about the pillows and I said yeah because i definitely need some pillows & asked what kind & he says " it's better to buy them 2wks in but im sure you already knew that right" ... atm i decided to walk out because it was a continuous thing and it gave unwanted and racist . I wouldn't step back foot in this place and it's crazy because I intended on buying a mattress from this place since it's the only organic store and I've been looking for a latex / feather based mattress . You guys should def look into replacing this guy.. he does more talking than listening. read more

I do not usually write yelp reviews, however this is our third purchase from Houston Natural Mattress and we have not been disappointed. Three years ago we purchased the more expensive Naturepedic Halcyon mattress due to significant back issues. We are still very happy with our mattress and really glad we chose the naturepedic brand. We have been back twice for our sons room and then just recently our guest room. Both Dustin and Louis have been wonderful in helping us. It is also hard to know these days all the toxic products that might go into the various mattresses so having an organic mattress and especially one made here in the US is why this is our go to for mattress needs. We are very happy with the Houston Natural Mattress co. Dustin and Louis - don't ever compromise on integrity and honesty and you will have lifetime customers! read more

FANTASTIC experience from start to finfish. My husband and I talked to Steve and told him we were looking for a natural mattress...mostly due to my dust allergies and autoimmune stresses...brought on by environmental triggers. We had a bad experience with our former mattress purchase and with some other furniture delivery in the past...mostly bad attitudes. Steve took time to explain some natural options and we fell in love with the Halcyon mattress. It took a while because this mattress is custom made to your specs. It's been worth the wait. The delivery service was awesome as well. The mattress comes in a high-quality, food-grade double plastic cover and not a partly ripped open, thin plastic like our last mattress...where we had to send it back since it was already stained (bought at the Dump). Richard was the delivery rep. He was so considerate regarding care and handling of the mattress...careful to create as little as possible contamination while removing the covering and placing the mattress on our foundation. Richard spoke English! He had no problem with answering any questions and didn't make me feel as if I was a bother...like the Dump's delivery man had done. Best of all, we love our new natural mattress which has no chemical or toxic smell...making us feel ill. It's also super comfy and we've slept like babies since we got it. The only smell was an earthy, natural smell (mild) which reminds me of sheep. Well, maybe this is why we have the saying to count sheep to get to sleep. It's NATURAL! This mild earthy smell is quite welcome after our last mattress experience. Thank you Natural Mattress and I hope this store is around for a long time. I hope others will check it out. read more

Dustin goes above and beyond to provide excellent customer service. His product knowledge is excellent and he provides a very detailed explanation on each mattress. While the initially selected mattress did not work for us he ordered without hesitation 2 new mattresses without any additional cost.
