The thing i love the most about brambles coffee shop are the daily specials and the brambles club sandwich. this place has a wonderful atmosphere, not like you usual fast food coffee shops, more like a restaurant but with very cheap prices. you can eat and drink for under £5 easily and be well fed with huge portions. In summer you can not beat sitting outside in the sunshine at brambles. this place can get extremely busy and must do tremendously well. thats why they have decided to build a large extension i suppose but it just shows what good friendly service, good comfy atmosphere and good value tasty food can do. Post-birthday night out I was a little worse for wear and ready for a full English and a good cup of tea unfortunately the breakfast cut off point is at 11.30 however I wasn't too disappointed as the rest of the menu left plenty of tantalizing options for me to choose from! The waitress came over to take our orders and helped me choose between 2 dishes that I was torn over. The drinks service was a little slow but the food was timey and the presentation on all the dishes was amazing! My Dad opted for a seafood platter, which came with smoked salmon, crayfish, cockles, mackerel and crab slaw all served with sourdough bread, hollandaise and aioli sauces - seafood heaven! My Mum went for the lamb and goats cheese burger that was divine! The lamb was cooked to perfection with it being pink in the middle and served with a yummy mint yogurt dip and sun-dried tomatoes. I was stuck between the club sandwich and BBQ pulled pork open sandwich. On recommendation I went for the pork, which was served, on sourdough toast with melted Monterey cheese - heaven! I was having food-envy looking at the lamb burger but was not in anyway disappointed with my pork. Finishing off our meal with the Parlour's specialty - ice creams all round! I have a new found love for the homemade lemon meringue cone... There is so many flavours including apple pie and the originals too - its an ice cream lovers heaven! Our leisurely lunch here was fab and they are also promoting the "Super Club" on the 18th of July that is a diner's paradise! This came with very generous amounts of topping as well as a fresh side salad. Overall a great little place and I had a lovely time sitting and sketching in here. We sat and had a coffee and some food which was nice, however I ordered toast for my son and it arrived cold, I asked for them to replace it and they refused to do so, the attitude of the staff was awful, I was then faced with 2 of their staff standing there completely having a go at me and trying to intimidate me just because I asked for them to replace my cold toast!!! I spent 20 minutes arguing with them and in the end she replaced my toast and practically threw it at me!! upon leaving doppios the young male member of staff told me good riddance and I wasn't welcome back well except he used a lovely selection of swear words including F words infront of 3 young children, at this point I went mad, I stood my ground told them what I though and then left the shop only for this male to follow me down the street still using a very colourful language and accusing me of throwing food on the floor (we didn't as it wasn't the table we were sat at!) I will never use this place ever again and since this day I know of at least 4 companies who refuse to use this company as they had seen/heard the commotion! Their hot drinks are lovely! Only ever tired their mocha but it didn't need any sweetening and that's a plus for me any day. Their desserts/cakes are delicccciiiouuuussss. And they're quite unique haha. American Peanut Butter cake, Oreo Delight, etc but you still got the classics like Lemon Meringue and raspberry tarts. Their paninis are ON POINT. Get their pesto and mozzarella panini, very yummy. They also have small or large English breakfast (both regular and veggie). The best part? I haven't had anything at this cafe that was over £5. A filling panini with chips and coleslaw is £4.50. The mocha and hot drinks are £2.20 and under. I've heard their milkshakes are delicious and they're only £2. You can do the Afternoon Tea deal (any cake with your choice of any tea or coffee) for £4. Staff is extremely friendly, kind, and interactive. Also, 10% student discount :) If you don't try this place soon, I'm gonna be really upset.....that's not very convincing but please go try it :) you won't be disappointed!
