She was convincing me for 15 min that this was normal and anticipated result. I was too upset to even complain to the manager, which I absolutely should have done. I attempted to correct it in a different salon, ZEBA, which was no better. The hair was burned entirely in an attempt to correct what Jade did. The hair broke off from the root, and now I have shaved hair and regrowing it from zero. Disgraceful incompetence, taking 300 euros for destroying your hair, and testing your hair without any sense of responsibility.

I booked a cut and blow dry which is 23Euro. I was looked after by Rose, such a sweet, gentle and skilled person. We talked in detail about what I wanted, she then washed my hair and a teacher/ supervisor went over the details with her again, making sure everyone is one the same page. The trainee hairdressers take (much) longer (I was in there for an hour and a half for a 30min job) but the outcome was the same standard I usually get from a senior stylist. Sometimes they dont even get it right. So if you have a bit of time, try and use the academy. I was assured upon booking that no one leaves lopsided as the teacher is always around in case something needs fixing. There's also a free conditioning treatment with a Yelp check-in. Nice!

The idea is the same: students in their last year are in charge of your hair. Yes, I admit it, I'm always a bit nervous but all the girls are usually lovely and try to make you feel as comfortable as possible. A supervisor is always at hand, so after your initial consultation, everything is talked over and approved (or adjusted) by them. The trainee hairdressers do take quite a bit longer than experienced stylists but on the other hand you only pay 23Euro for a wash, cut and blow dry and it's essentially the same as you'd get elsewhere for 60 quid. To me, that's a no-brainer. If you have the time, give them a try but bear in mind that you need to book ahead.
