I realize Yelp reviewing your real estate attorney is fairly out of the norm...but this is the kind of help most people need in the most consequential moments of their lives so here we are! I've gone through both the buying and selling process now with Kevin Hoyt and the team at Gallo, and cannot say enough about how seamless they made the process. There were some title issues that came up when I was purchasing my property back in 2018 that were taken care of without my having to worry about it, and when it came time to sell - the team here had my property ready to close two weeks ahead of schedule. Kevin's assistant, Dianne, is who I worked with primarily on the sale process. She was able to answer all of my questions and find all the necessary documentation without my having to do much of anything. I can't say how meaningful it was, in the midst of a very fast relocation, to know that this was part of the moving process I didn't need to worry about. I fully recommend Gallo if you're moving to, from, or within Rochester and looking for an attorney. The firm in itself is very micro-managed and they pay and treat their employees very poorly - no appreciation whatsover. Treat their employees like they are toddlers that know nothing! They like to single people out without letting any explanation to be given. Very secretative and shady. Do not train their employees - they just throw them into a position and leave them to figure it out. Very high turnover due to the fact that they are only interested in putting the money in their pockets! Have rude, loud, disrespectful attorneys therefore it is very hard to concentrate on workload especially when you are on the phone with a client. Just selfish, selfish, selfish. They will talk behind closed doors or behind your back when you are not around and make you look like a fool. They are never satisfied with anyone but themselves. If you are young and just starting a career and will except low pay - don't even bother - you will not be happy. I would like to also add that while they are letting go of hard, loyal, smart workers they are allowing other employees to sleep at their desks, text on their phone in the bathroom and kitchen for 1/2 hours at a time, wear inappropriate clothing and shoes and are just very unprofessional for a lawfirm setting! read more

Like some of the other respondents. I wish I could give 0 stars. I am thoroughly disappointed and disgusted with the service I received from them. I retained them to look into money my deceased mother had in 2 bank accounts at M&T and KeyBank. Before she passed, she called me needing my SS# because she was heading to Gallo & Iacovangelo to have her will prepared. Both banks informed me I needed her Will to access any money. When I contacted Gallo & Iacovangelo they said they didn't have her will but could bypass it. This was December 2024. This should have been resolved either way in weeks. I was just informed by paralegal Paula Clark that she had no luck recovering any money. 16 months later for something that should have taken weeks!! When I would reach out to her requesting updates, I got no response. The only time she reached out was when she presented me with the bill for services rendered. To say I was livid is an understatement. Then I demanded twice in emails that she return my mother's bank account information as well as her ss#. After no response the first time. I informed her the second time that keeping that information was "theft". She then returned the documents. I will never do business with Gallo & Iacovangelo again! read more

We hired Anthony to help us close on a property since we were going to be out of the Country. While we were traveling we get an email from him letting us know that he has taken it upon himself to push back our closing date to a date that we could have been home to close on because 'he was busy'. We had to send a frustrated email so that he would still close on a reasonable date. It also took Anthony almost 3 weeks after we returned to send us revocation of Power of Attorney. Again, another frustrated email before we got these. Not sure if it was our attorney or the sellers attorney, but someone put our wrong home address on our deed and neither party will take responsibility - a $300 mistake. Like the person below said, they are impossible to get a hold of and to add onto that, office staff was rude when they did answer. We will not be using them for future transactions. read more

I never thought we would have to pay so much money for such horrible service; if we hadn't been almost ready to close on our new house, we definitely would have changed lawyers. He rarely communicated with us (and most communications were initiated by us, not him), refused to help us get back money owed to us (due to, from what we heard, him being "buddy-buddy" with the other lawyer), and charged us a "prior closing fee" which, when I tried to contact both him and his assistant to inquire about (since we fully paid at our previous closing), received no response from. We will pursue our concerns further but, if you are looking for a lawyer, avoid this headache! read more

I'd give them Zero stars if I could. Received closing documents for another house, the. Asked to print off correct documents myself on legal paper. Almost 1 full week post closing and they still haven't sent the payoff check to my mortgage company or given me my check. Hard to get them to answer emails or calls - terrible service - use them if you want to escalate your stress levels during an already hectic time of buying or selling a home. F-update one year later found out I was put into a collection agency for a water bill - which even though they had me given them a check at closing - wasn't the right dollar amount. They are always on top of things, call you back in a timely manner, always happy to speak with you and if you need an attorney to speak with and yours is not available one of the other attorney's always steps in to help.
