I came here to enjoy dinner at the little seafood joint located in the park. I couldn't have asked for a better setting for my last meal on my vacation. The breeze from the harbor. The sun beaming through the fluffy clouds. I was almost too good to be true to be in such a perfect setting. But I was here, living in that moment. I couldn't have asked for a better park to eat my meal at. Everything I took in will forever be etched in my brain. A memory and feeling I will never forget.

The commons actually weren't that busy, even though the streets were a filled with trick-or-treaters. There were lots of food vendors, and merchants on site and plenty of people in costume. We did get to walk around the common and learn about some of the history of the area which was cool. It's also a really lovely green space. It was difficult to enjoy the circle unfortunately, because there were a group of pharisaic incels walking around in circles with megaphones. Parking was also pretty atrocious but it was Halloween after all. The space itself seems really lovely and I think it's great that people in the community have a place they can gather. I would definitely come here and have a picnic if I lived in the area.

It's a wonderful place to go just to "soak it all in" and take some really beautiful photos. I honestly wanted to leave this place 5 stars so bad but the only thing was stopping be was the hike down to the beach area. There's no pathway and you have to climb over slippery rocks and be very careful even when wearing the right shoes. If you are physically able to go down there though, it's definitely worth it.

It's hard for a coastal park to blow me away because I have some wonderful ones where I live. But, if you're trying to catch some water views while in Marblehead, you should stop by. I noticed a couple climbing down the rocks and foraging the shoreline, but I can't speak to if that is safe or recommended. There's free street parking and it would be a cool place to take a picnic. I feel badly saying this, but when we pulled up from the GPS, we laughed. The lighthouse is a very minimal, old, not inviting, colorless structure. There's almost no public seating. There are barely any signs explaining the area. It has so much potential but none of it is utilized. A lot of tourists were milling about with similar confusion. On a funnier note, a local here told me that Marblehead, MA will sometimes use a lighthouse photo of the one from my state in Marblehead, OH because they also agree there's is disappointing. Three stars for the surrounding waters if you're not used to seeing water.

When I told him it was my mother's emotional support animal he said, they're not allowed. I have taken this same dog to this park at least twice and it was never an issue. She has a special collar and identification, we even have a doctor's note. I don't get the fuss and bog deal... In my mother's case, she has PTSD, it's crucial for us to have the dog at all times. If you're an animal lover and cannot leave the house without your service animal, do not waste your time and/ or your $25. This parking fee of what people pay to park at amusement parks lol Never again.

Not completely wilderness since train (commuter rail) is just down the hill of this park, but still nice to be outside. Not too far from downtown: I combined with exploring downtown Salem.
