I used to go to Aspen Dental on one of their free offers for a cleaning and found they have light…read morewhitening, so I purchased it. Really nice, one & done. Since then, I switched over to Integrative Dental Solutions in Peawaukee, but they offer only tray whitening, so I wanted to go back to Aspen for another light whitening. It seems their hygeinists are finding my teeth have higher numbers for gum recession, so they want to do an "advanced cleaning" before the whitening. Their advanced cleaning is $1500 and they don't have laser, which is intermediary to their "advanced cleaning" for recession. I've already had 2 exams in April 2026; one w/ Dr. Heil in Oshkosh & a free one at IDS since I already had one at Dr. Heil. I spent about an hour with the scheduler discussing all of that, he said to send documentation of my cleaning at IDS and that should be ok along with another exam from Aspen per the dentist. I sent everything email. However, when I called to verify this, the woman this time said I would need another exam & if they find the numbers of recession, an advanced cleaning would be necessary or they won't do the whitening. This has been an ongoing conversation, but they do not consider me an established patient since it is now a few days past their rules and won't accept cleaning documentation from other dentists for the whitening after all. I would have found out all of this at check in!! I just had a cleaning & exam at IDS & sent Aspen the documentation! Not only that, they previously billed my insurance for a panaramic ex-ray they never gave me! They won't remove that billing from my insurance, so for the remainder of 5 yrs my insurance covers, I have to pay out of pocket for one. How many other patients have they done this to? Aspen Dental is the only dentist saying I need a $1500 cleaning before I can purchase their whitening. Spent hours of my valuable time to schedule a whitening appointment for nothing, and they billed for a pan exray I never had! Do better!
