Old, obsolete video game systems, DVDs, video game cartridges and discs, equipment repair... and skateboards? It's been so long since I've seen games for sale for the Atari 2600 that I had thought I had the only one left. Yet they have some on hand for sale. And it's staffed with guys who actually know of AND remember the hard corps, 'old school' systems that got us where video games are today. They have prices comparable to GameStop; not that it matters all that much since Cleburne's GameStop has ceased to carry GameBoy games, and will soon stop carrying and trading GameCube games, as well. They carry them for X-boxes, various Playstations, lots of Nintendo systems. Prices for used GameBoys seem to range from $20-60 depending on the rarity of the system wanted. And they take trade-ins on games, systems and movies. I'm definitely going to continue to spread the word about this place in order to keep a good little local 'mom and pop' operation running. :) ------------------------------ (update March 04, 2012) Purchased an old used Game Boy cartridge and a GameCube disc. Game Boy cart needed a little cleaning to get it to work with my GameCube Game Boy Player. Game works great! The GameCube game disc was scratchy and wouldn't play in my GameCube. Upon returning it to the store, the sales associate tossed it into the disc refinishing machine for free. The game works perfectly, now. :) ------------------------------ Games & Movies Traders has moved from next to Whataburger on West Henderson to it's new location next to the Cinema 6 on West Henderson in Cleburne, Texas. They also no longer sell movies so I guess it's just "Games," now. :)

Just went to browse in the back for retro stuff and the guy working there left his counter to tell me about some deals. Told him I was just browsing and he wouldn't shut up about these Gamestop-esque deals. I really did not care and it was extremely uncomfortable. It seemed like whenever our eyes meet, he would have to say something. It was like a Pokemon battle. I literally walked to sections of the store I didn't want to just so I didn't have to run into him. This should not happen. Not only that, the selection of games was not very good. I used to find rows and rows of cheap games here, but after swimming through shelves and shelves of nothing but DVDs and useless merchandise, one of the most valuable things they had was John Madden on Genesis in-box. Whooptie doo. Most of the other games had torn stickers on them. Poor Sonic & Knuckles had bits of the plastic cut in it, as if a buzz-saw nicked it somehow. Seriously?? How did they get like this?! The store was also very dirty and unkempt. I almost tripped on some bits of shelving when I went to the album section. I am a pretty avid fan of brick and mortar stores and was actually planning on purchasing at least something there, but I ultimately changed my mind and left. Dudebros who apparently bought this place would rather talk your ear off about purchasing DVD and merchandise snake oil than anything worth your collection. Try FX at Richland Mall.

Selection changes all the time but they highlight the top stock in clear display cases. They also have vinyl from the most amazing game soundtracks, local traditional art, stickers and decals as well as plush and accessories from your favorite games. They even have a console museum in the rear of the store that displays all the old gaming systems. Even if you purchase NOTHING it's a fun place to go and explore but you'd be a fool to not get anything. Priced to sell and pretty fair. PRO TIP: Also if you are having issues with a disc game playing, they charge a very small fee to resurface discs!
