Texas Theatre is a historic theater in Dallas-Oak Cliff that is part landmark, part time capsule,…read moreand super cool. While the area around the theater has new shops, as soon as you walk into the Texas Theatre you are transported back into time. This is a must visit. My Overall Rating - 5 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Theater, Return) Atmosphere - As you walk up to Texas Theatre, you'll see an old school lit marquee displaying the current shows and features. Curved, star shaped neon lights spelling "TEXAS" hang outside, guiding you in. Inside, it's chick, cool, and even has a bar. Curved couches imported directly from the 60's remind you that you just stepped back in time. 1 Star. Service - The center ticket booth is no longer used, but the entire staff was super nice, including the bartender. They know the Texas Theater is different and embody the groovy 60's feel. 1 Star. Theater - ICYMI, the Texas Theatre is famous because this is where Dallas police arrested Lee Harvey Oslwald after the assassination of JFK. The seats don't recline, cupholders have been added in between seats, and visible speakers pump out the sound as Texas Theatre moves into the modern era. But honestly, this place is a cool museum. One where you can visit, watch a movie, grab a drink, and step back in time. It's true the mega cinema's may offer you a better movie watching experience, but they're nowhere close to being retro cool like the Texas Theatre. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. If you haven't been, you should. Watching a movie at the Texas Theatre is like a step back in time. You get to experience what it was like in a super cool setting. I hope this place never changes. 1 Star.

Oak Cliff is a wonderful neighborhood . Parking is limited in Jefferson but lots nearby. There are TWO bars inside the theatre and also concessions. Drinks are reasonably priced and service is top notch. Restrooms are small but adequate. And such adorable cozy lounge areas. Do check out my pic. Just great ambiance. 10/10 for style. The only detractor is in the live show: the wings did not have the curtains fully closed and you can see all the activity which is highly distracting. This is a major no no in live shows. It derails a performance. With the attention to detail everywhere else this is a glaring problem. That's fixable - so come see entertainment in a gorgeous historical building serviced by wonderful humans.

We grabbed a few lanes to bowl with family and friends for my son's 5th birthday party. I stopped by the day before to reserve lanes and confirm that bringing balloons and cookies was okay, and the whole process of reserving and paying was super easy. When we arrived Saturday morning, everything was already set up and ready for us to get started. The staff stayed on top of our drinks and orders the entire time, and everyone had an amazing time. Highly recommend!

We are a party of seven and planned to order quite a bit of food and drinks while we bowled. However, our lane kept fouling every single person who bowled. We found someone and asked for assistance and were told someone would come help. Thirty minutes later, no one had come -- not to fix the lane and not to take our food order. A very kind gentleman happened to walk by, and we stopped him to explain the issue. He immediately called it in and asked for the foul line to be turned off. We also asked how we were supposed to order food, and he told us a waitress would come to our table. As he started to walk away, he turned back around and offered to take our order himself and write it down for the waitress -- which we genuinely appreciated. We asked about substituting the brussels sprouts on a platter due to an allergy in our party. He radioed to confirm and was told it was fine, so we placed the rest of our fairly large order. A few minutes later, a young woman came over and said they do not do substitutions like that. We explained that we had asked for approval before ordering and that the gentleman had radioed to confirm. She said "oh, okay" and walked off. Shortly after, a blonde woman came over and identified herself as the manager. She said she was told we claimed to have spoken to a manager. Her tone felt very accusatory, repeatedly asking, "Who did you talk to?" We had to physically look around and point out the person who helped us. She then informed us he's "not even a waiter, he's a party host," as if that somehow invalidated the help he gave us. Ironically, he was the only person who was proactive and helpful the entire time. And here's the biggest issue -- no one ever fixed the lane. Even after all the conversations, it continued to foul every player for the duration of our time. Manager or not, if an issue is brought to your attention and it never gets resolved, that's a serious breakdown in management. With reservations and a group of seven ready to spend money, we expected better organization, communication, and service. This was easily the worst experience we've had here. The only bright spot of the night was the party host who actually stepped up when no one else did.

I haven't been here in many years as to when I used to play inline hockey. As of now there is no more hockey and they only offer public skating and figure skating. There is ample parking provided in the parking lot and getting in and skating is as easy as 1,2 and 3! I came here for my kids PTA school event and we all had a good time. Pricing is fair and the ambiance was on point with the different colors of bright led lights being displayed. The skating rink was clean and the DJ was playing appropriate music for all ages. They have a food court and games to play as well and also a small store to purchase skating equipment such as wheels or laces. The restrooms were clean and they have signs posted that it is highly recommended to take off skates before using the restroom. They also have roller blades to rent out as well as the typical old school roller skates. They offer monthly unlimited membership skating as well as events and birthday partys. Come out and enjoy the largest skating rink in TX and take advantage of one of these great deals they have for the community. Overall we had a great time and I definitely noticed all the renovations they updated and was blown away from when I first visited 25 years ago!

Previously they had some sort of unlimited pass for a certain amount of time in a day, that included attractions. That no longer exists. We decided to just load a card with funds, which previously you could use points for attractions. They didn't explain at the front counter they don't warn folks points no longer work for attractions, so we had to find out at the bumper cars that we have to go back up front and buy attraction credits at just shy of $8 a pop. During our visit on a Sunday, we ended up not seeing a single person doing bumper cars, rock wall, or lazer tag which normally being used regularly on a weekend day. Plus, the number of people on a weekend reminded us of the number that would be there on an early afternoon on a weekday. Covid killed off the buffet, the recent buy out killed off their decent all in pass for x amount for x amount of time. Now are running things a bit more like their competitors Alley Cats & Main Event. Yet there really hasn't been anything updated or improved upon in the 3 or 4 months that they have become Gametime. The cost is about the same as Main Event which is a better maintained place. While they have the indoor rock wall and bumper cars Alley cats has mini-golf and other outdoor rides. I don't expect Gametime to survive without bringing back the thing that brought people to Itz, even if there is some sort of price increase or slight change in set up. Like one unlimited pass for games and an upgrade for attractions... or vice versa. Cause there are to many just unlimited game play places in the area.
