While there I have interacted with excellent employees at this location, their management and business practices are absolute garbage. About two months ago, I pre-ordered a game that came with a GameStop exclusive pre-order bonus. On the day of the game's release, I went to pick it up SIX MINUTES after they opened, and I was told they had already given my pre-order bonus away. According to the employee, they called everyone with a pre-order about doing a midnight release...well, considering I never got a call from them, I didn't go even though I would have. This was weeks after they almost gave away a special edition console I had pre-ordered as well, so I was already on edge about this location. After reaching out to a super helpful customer service agent (the only decent employee I dealt with in this scenario), I was told I would be contacted by the general manager to have my issue resolved. After about a week of waiting for the call, I sent a ticket in to GameStop's online help center to give all of this info and ask that the general manager contact me. Well, it has been about two or three weeks since that ticket was sent, so I'm doing the last thing I can think of to get this issue even noticed. Decided to pull the trigger on a new ps5 and invested over 1k in games , controllers , memberships, and console to enjoy the latest gaming experience with the family. Since purchasing the ps5 has only worked properly 25% of the time. Most times I turn it on it seems to have some sort of output error that makes the screen go to static or sometimes a black screen with an occasional green blink , sometimes for a second you can see the images come through. I've read about others having the same issues. I've tried all the suggested remedies. Reset ps5, change hdmi cable or port, check for updates, etc , etc. I just want to return it. Called the 1 800 number and after waiting for a long time I op'd to save my space and get a call back. Called again and repeated this process over 3 days. No call back to this day. Stayed on the line for 45 min to just try and talk to someone but the call was ended (not failed or dropped). So I try to call the local store in huntersville . Called 22 times over a span of 30 min. No answer. Leaving this poor review based on the faulty product and poor customer service. read more

This gamestop is by far the best I've ever been too. The store manager here is absolutely amazing! I forget his name, but had glasses. He is so personable, and friendly. Asked about my gaming style to find out what games is like. He made it an enjoyable process. I was picking up Arkham knight the morning after the launch... And if appeared he was the only employee working. There was a line about 8 deep, and he did great! Greeted every customer as the walked in, apologized to the line a few times about the wait. Customer service wasn't over the top, but it wasn't bad either. My son and I scored a used Wii Nerf game for a buck! Can't beat that! My biggest issues with this GameStop is the parking lot. Norcoss is a terribly designed plaza! Finding a parking spot is challenging enough, but combine the cars speeding to get to and fro Target, and you are fighting for your life! read more

This location has the most unprofessional woman "working" there almost every time I visit. She is usually civil and occasionally nice, but consistently talks about how she hates her job and/or coworker. She has made jokes to my spouse and I about "never answering the phone again because people are so stupid". On Sunday 8/13/2023 we walked in around 6:45pm. I thought they closed at 8, but saw on my way inside that they closed at 7pm. I have to drive about half an hour to get to GameStop from my home, so I figured it was at least worth asking if I could do a trade in (of a device that I've traded in before, knowing it only takes 5 minutes) and if they said no, it's no big deal, I get it. However, when I asked her if I could trade it in she said "No." in a very rude tone. I calmly said oh that's okay because you're about to close. She said "yeah that and we don't take them no more" when I quoted the item on the way to the store and it gave me the stores location to go for a trade in. Even after that I thought okay that's fine but before I could say anything she said very loudly for everyone in the store to here "This goes for everybody- don't come in here in the last 30 minutes with a trade in, that's really f'd up to do!!!" I was so embarrassed that I just walked out without saying anything. She told the whole store what I came in for and said that after I was nothing but polite to her. I didn't have a problem with her not being able to do it. Her behavior was very uncalled for, and rude. To top it all of, she had GameStop bags tied around her head like some kind of child. I have never had anyone in any establishment speak to me the way that she did. I didn't do anything to deserve that, and I'm not sure why she is allowed to work with customers at all. read more

Friendly service and fair pricing, BUT I bought an Xbox 360 for my son for Christmas. I asked the guy if it was refurbished, he said "Yes." So, I didn't bother to look at the small sticker on the side of the box. After a few days of play, the Xbox kept freezing. This is very frustrating, and not what I wanted for my son, who waited more than eight months for this thing. My wife casually pointed out that the sticker on the side of the box says "Used." I asked for Refurbished and they sold me Used. Not cool. Nice people, but not reliable at all. Now we have to go through the process of returning it and setting everything up again. read more

Excellent customer service. We are not gamers but my husband is bad into Star Wars. He recently sent me to GameStop to find a Kylo Ren helmet that he saw on their website. I felt like a fish out of water in the store so I asked Vanessa, one of the employees, if she could help me. She said they didn't have it but went on their computer to find what stores nearby did. She offered to call them to hold it or she said she could just order it and have it shipped directly to me. That's what we ended up doing. The manager, Dan, also got involved and he was very apologetic that they didn't have the helmet. This was all while the store was very busy. I am not sure about the previous review but it sounds to me like it was lopsided from someone who had a grudge. (Check the system his disk?) if you are trading a system in..isn't that your responsibility. Anyway, I have been to this location twice in the last week for two separate purchases and have had all my questions answered. The first time I was there I talked to two of the guys working who both gave me their recommendation on a game I was on the fence about. While I usually like to see for myself I took their word and recommendation. I also had questions about my GameStop card since I was about to lose my points. (I hadn't made a purchase over a year) this other gentleman who's name I can't remember and Dan who was one of the managers made sure they answered all my questions and invited me back. This location used to be good - knowledgeable people worked there etc. All the knowledgeable people are gone - not trustworthy - I traded a system - left the CD in by accident - it was a hard to find CD - of course they can't find it. They made no effort to contact me etc. Untrustworthy staff - will never go here again. At the time manager "Jessica" told me should would get the item back to me - of course she made no effort, I contacted numerous times, I hope she's not still there - dishonest employees are the worst. Edit: I'd just like to add that in 3 years I haven't been back to this location and I buy games all the time. Every single time I am in this store I have to endure a long gruelingggg wait on line. Today, I spent almost 20 minutes waiting to pay for one game. While there was two employees in the store, only ONE of them decided it was important to check customers out. So, the line curled around the store where we all complained and got sweaty and irritable. If I had not been driving through Huntersville I would NOT have stopped here. Everytime it's a hassle. And not one worth having because on top of the horrendous customer service their selection is lacking; particularly in the Xbox One section.
