My wife and I decided to stop by on April 28, 2016 at 8:18pm with the goal of purchasing a couple games like any other day. We rarely go to the same gamestop or video game store given that we travel quite a bit, either in the states or overseas so we weren't prepared for representative Mark. We had the great displeasure of stopping by last night at this location and encountering an immature narcissistic representative named Mark with abysmal customer service and not a single fiber of professionalism. We were unpleasantly taken back when he bluntly and randomly insulted, ignore and laughed at us when we inquired about any game. Somehow, he blame porn usage on our PS4 console for the long download time-frames of new game installs not knowing that our console is new. We have never met previously, our console is factory new, in a box and not even configured given we use PS3 for our travels. I tried to understand his assumption by asking how he came to such speculation which in return he stated, "what don't you understand English? Do I need to speak in Spanish to you? ". I have never encountered such racial profiling and discrimination. Period. I speak three languages, English been my native language. My wife is Irish, clearly it was not a language barrier. A representative named Stephanie witness everything as it unfold and tried to defuse Mark by ignoring his statements and requesting us to check out on her side of the counter to distance Mark from us. We politely informed Mark the way he carries himself is not professional and he should not talk to any customer that way. Which he awkwardly laugh off not understanding the severity of the issue. Rep. Stephanie did a great job and tried to mend our visit. She was courteous, listened and professional. We will be submitting this to www.TellGameStop.com and would like to request to meet with the store manager for a firm dual party understanding of the events that transpired. A neat retro game shop!…read more I frequent tons of different retro game shops, so I naturally had to stop in to this location before making the drive back to my city after watching the 2024 eclipse. The store was packed full with used games, movies, and consoles, and a ton of merch and snacks as well. K-pop music and music from the Godzilla Minus One ost was playing overhead and gave the place a super fun and eclectic vibe. I think it would've been even more fun to peruse through on another day, but the two girls running the register were very loudly having a heated conversation and kind of brought the atmosphere down. Despite the impressive stock, the selection of games was decent at best. There was a good mix of games from the last 20 years, but not much from the PS1 era or earlier. There were some lucky finds, yes, but A LOT of the games didn't come with their original cases or were missing the case art. If you're a collector like I am, it really sucked to find games I've been looking for without said cases or art. Still, there was a lot to sift through and I did leave with a few purchases, and if the missing cases and art don't bother you I'm sure you'll leave with even more. The stickers they put on the games were also some of the worst stickers I've tried to remove as well. They put one smack dab on the back of a DS cartridge I purchased and it took a long time to remove the sticker with Goo-Gone because I didn't want to potentially damage the game. All in all, I wouldn't mind stopping back in next time I'm in the area to see everything they have in store. There was just so much to look through that I didn't get a chance to see. Just went to browse in the back for retro stuff and the guy working there left his counter to tell me about some deals. Told him I was just browsing and he wouldn't shut up about these Gamestop-esque deals. I really did not care and it was extremely uncomfortable. It seemed like whenever our eyes meet, he would have to say something. It was like a Pokemon battle. I literally walked to sections of the store I didn't want to just so I didn't have to run into him. This should not happen. Not only that, the selection of games was not very good. I used to find rows and rows of cheap games here, but after swimming through shelves and shelves of nothing but DVDs and useless merchandise, one of the most valuable things they had was John Madden on Genesis in-box. Whooptie doo. Most of the other games had torn stickers on them. Poor Sonic & Knuckles had bits of the plastic cut in it, as if a buzz-saw nicked it somehow. Seriously?? How did they get like this?! The store was also very dirty and unkempt. I almost tripped on some bits of shelving when I went to the album section. I am a pretty avid fan of brick and mortar stores and was actually planning on purchasing at least something there, but I ultimately changed my mind and left.
