I'm a longtime GameStop customer and a Pro Member, and this experience honestly explains why so many locations are shutting down. I went into the League City store to trade in an Apple Watch. I brought the original receipt, paired the watch in store to prove it was legitimate, and even unpaired it directly from my Apple ID right there. I did everything by the book. Rose took one look at it and said it "looked fake." No real explanation. No proper verification process. Just an assumption. If employees are going to handle high-value electronics, they need proper training. Accusing a customer's item of being fake without actually knowing how to authenticate it is unprofessional and frustrating. Especially when the customer comes prepared with proof of purchase and takes the time to demonstrate it works. I've supported GameStop for years as a Pro Member, but experiences like this make it hard to keep defending the brand. If stores are struggling, maybe it starts with better training and better customer service. read more

Wow this place is great If you wanna get ripped off and insulted. Kenneth wanted too tell me he thought the controller I was buying was stupid, and dumb. Then I have to listen to the boss lady tell me she thinks it's a stupid controller too and how she hates it. Honestly it was for my child, and I'm just glad he didn't come me with me. That would have been horrible to a ten year old. I sure hope Kenneth finds a job he's good at instead of insulting people and their children. read more

Very dissatisfied. I came in to buy a couple of games. I was helped by the assistant store manager Ralph. All was fine until checkout time. At which point he asked if I wanted to be a member of his rewards program. I declined but he insisted after that and proceeded to ask me for a bunch of my information including email, phone number, ZIP Code, etc. I was very annoyed. That was not it. I get home and there are no games in the boxes! I called and was offered nothing but to bring myself back up to GameStop to rectify the situation. Thanks Ralph and team. The staff is always so good with my boys and their love of gaming. I have younger boys (11 and 7) and they sometimes take a while to decide on a game, but the staff has always been helpful and patient with them! We will continue to spend our money here! read more

My son bought a game at this store. At the time he told the clerk that he thought a more advanced version of the game was on sale for the same price on the website but the clerk told him that it was not on sale, it cost twice as much as the lower level version. When he got home, my son looked it up and found that he was correct. We Just called this store and they won't exchange it because he had opened the box. Their excuse as to why it happened is that, "it was Black Friday and we had a lot of new employees." Bad customer service. read more
