With the many quiet nooks, you're bound to find a quiet place to sit and read. It's a used bookstore with a broad selection of genres. They also sell records which would be perfect for collectors. I bought a new journal from their many gorgeous journal designs. My daughter stumbled upon some books she had her eye on for some time. The store is huge so I'm sure you'd find something worthwhile. I was looking for some philosophy books and the attendant led me right to them. I was happy to see that the prices were reasonable and within my budget. This helps when you're a bibliophile like me. This bookstore felt like it has its roots in Galveston. It's a well-known local used bookstore you'll be happy to visit. Me and my daughter's left with some gems we can't wait to sink into.

I wasn't sure what to expect, as this was my first time visiting. After browsing the shelves, and taking a seat in their reading area, I decided to go with a book that has been unfortunately banned, The Bluest Eye, by Toni Morrison. So glad I got the last copy and it was a great price. I would have chosen Mary Oliver's, New and Selected Poems, but they didn't have volume one and I'd prefer to start there. This independent bookstore has been a pop-up bookstore since 2023 and had its grand opening in October of last year. They are located next to a popular coffee shop that is loved by the community. They sell new and used books. The used books are color-coordinated at the top of each shelf. They also sell gifts, stickers, bookmarks, and at the checkout counter, you'll find a passport book where you can track your reading journey. It's really cute. Be sure to grab your free bookmark on your way out. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They definitely don't mind taking a moment to help you find what you're looking for.

I used to go to this shop back when it was in Seabrook. They have a ton of comics back stock and rare items on the wall. They also do some good sales for back issues and books etc for a good price. Cheating out on keeping the back issues in clean and identical/uniform looking display sometimes hinders me from even digging. On top of being a learning based bookstore, there are many classrooms at the back for the classes offered here, for grades K and up, but particularly grades 6-12. The bookstore is well laid out, by either topic or teaching system (I.e. for math, Saxon and Singapore). The variety is really nice with options for small children (coloring and fun geared) as well as upper levels, with serious textbooks. Whether you're looking for additional materials for kids in school or to teach at home, there's definitely a book or two on the subject you need. They also appear to have a built in network of local teachers in different subjects, like music or physical education, if you're looking for referrals. While we have not had a child attend any classes here yet, they look promising, and will update when I have information on how that experience is.
