run away!!! beyond bad!!! i was duped by the "we buy games" line of bs too. i showed this one bearded guy 9 brand new games. switch games, ps$ games and xbox games. let me repeat...all 100% brand new and in their original plastic. every one. in the end i was offered $6.50....for 6 games. you read that right, i drove there to 'sell games" and without breaking a smile this guy offers me $6.50 for 6 of the 9 brand new games. run the hell away! read more

The associate with the purple hair was extremely unaccommodating and flippant. After returning to the store for an incorrect power cord for my wii, he refused to exchange the controller for a white one, although there was a drawer full of used remotes. In the 15 minutes we were in the store we watched 2 people leave in a huff and 2 others hang up on him. My heart goes out to his timid coworker who has to be continuously interrupted by him throughout her shift. At least he did not discriminate, he was snippy and difficult to everyone! Including a young girl who was shopping with her family and was told to leave her backpack at the front. Somebody please check your mans on a power trip at the game store. Terrible vibes, hard pass. They have a great selection, but be very cautious when you buy, and make sure to save your receipts. Nothing I bought worked. I had to exchange everything on my receipt at least once, usually waiting about 15-20 minutes for them to test it out to verify my issues. We went through 3 PS2s and 3 game disks before we had a set up that worked, and a very very sweet young man in the Bridgeport store ended up giving us the floor demo PS2 to do it, because not a single one of the units for sale worked. After sorting that issue and playing that game, that's when we realized the N64 cartridge didn't work either. I bring this up separately because I had specifically requested the more cosmetically appealing copy of the game, as they were the same price, and the guy offered me 10% off to take the ugly one, assuring me they work the same. Obviously they did not. When I went back to exchange the N64 (again, 4th trip) I was told that because this replacement game was cosmetically fine, I would have to pay the difference. It was $3, I'm not trying to be petty about $3. What I am petty about is that I've spent well more $3 in gas running around and troubleshooting things for these people when they should be testing these games and consoles when they buy them in. I was sold a bag of broken goods, drove around for two weeks fixing their problems, and was told I still owe THEM. I'm not saying don't go, their selection is awesome if you're looking for a childhood memory, but keep your head and be your own advocate, because with the exception of that bomb kid in Bridgeport, they don't seem to care. read more

Be aware of their really bad exchange policy which is only for store credit, despite how you u paid in to begin with. Kinda of sneaky considering Game Stop will let you return something for cash and they are right across the street. read more

So we normally frequent the Wallingford store because it's closer to us. But today we were in Hamden and decided to stop by this one for convenience sake. I picked up a couple games I've been dying to get. My sister came in with a game we bought years ago. She's been having trouble with it lately but it was well past the 90 day warranty. The manager at the time helped her out and the game works perfectly now. He went way above and beyond what we expected or even asked for and it is greatly appreciated. I wanted to like this store but after my last visit I am left with nothing bad a bad taste in my mouth. The associates here are extremely rude (A women there literally refused to help me since they were closing soon) and there prices are not at all great. To top it all off their selection of PS Vita games was borderline nonexistent: all they have is PS3 Games. I would recommend shopping elsewhere since this place makes GameStop seem amazing! read more

Once I found out about the store in Bridgeport in Main Street. I had to check it out and was amazed by all the movies and games for different game counsels. I was hooked, so much so that I started to bring on my daughters to pick out ds games. I have always had great customer service for all the workers until I can in one day and there was a female working. I asked for some help with some games for my daughters and it was like I interrupted her shift by asking questions about some of the games my 2 girls wanted. By the time we left I was upset that I will not go in when she is working. The other staff members are so kind and welcome you when you first walk into the store and always answers questions or concerns I have about games and/or movies I purchase there. read more

One of my favorite game stores in Connecticut. The staff is SUPER friendly and the selection here is better than most stores. I was even able to find some Japanese bleach games here for my psp. The dvd selection is huge so you can probably find what movie you were looking for without having to go spend a lot of money at FYE or Best Buy. Never had a bad experience at this store and it's in a good part of Hamden with a lot of shopping to do. Even if this location doesn't have what you are looking for they can tell you if another location does. Cannot recommend this location enough. read more

I love the franchise but this this store in particular was awful the bitch at the counter clearly hated her job she sold me the wrong game and when I got home 1 of the games was broken(gba) I recommend that you stay away from this store and go to a different GameXChange read more
