I was told my wife's oil change and tire rotation would take an hour and a half. I thought that was a long time for that amount of work but went ahead with the service. I was there over two and a half hours and nobody ever came to even talk to me. I personally will never buy a car from there and I will also encourage my wife and anyone reading this to also not buy and especially to not get service from Ganley Suburu East Wickliffe. I went to get an oil change for my girlfriend and got told a wait time of 2-3 hours. Made an appointment for the following Monday. She arrived at the appointment at 3:30 took the car back at 3:40. The car did not come back out until 5:30. It should never take 2 hours to complete a singular oil change. Something in operations is not good here I'd recommend going to a different Subaru for maintenance. read more

I am not the typical car shopper so this may explain the different experience I had - knowing that I was keeping my old car (not trading anything in) not using the dealer financial side and looking for used - it was a mostly on me experience. Walked in having looked at a car online that checked my boxes and was a decent price - was hoping for a little wiggle and it was not there - so know before you go. Our salesman Ken was very personable, willing to research an issue I noted on the Carfax (with the car not Ganley just for clarity), went the extra mile to order the rugged mats I knew my kids would need to not ruin my seats & had them installed. My reasons for knocked star - we left a deposit on Thursday (one of our kids got sick at school) and due to that & not wanting to spread that we went back on Monday - it took over 3.5 hours - with it being Christmas vacation we were all waiting - but 3.5 hours for a purchase no finance needs, no let's set up the entire system to your phones, a chip in your hand, how to get to Mars etc is a long time! Other issue - they charged to install mats ($35k car, paying extra for TWO sets of the rugged mats AND they can't pop them on the seat back without an extra charge?!?! I mean I truly think they just strap on but still where is the customer service) the dealer mgr (not our salesman) said the issue I noted on the Carfax (rotors replaced three times over and over on this car with the first being at 3kmiles) was fixed "for good" but had no proof and said the vehicle had just put on four new tires - the back right still does not hold air and the only trunk light is off/burnt out or broken and when we called the said the batteries are cheap - super glad i paid extra for a bumper to bumper warranty extension for how this has started as remember I said I was keeping my other car and it was Christmas so this one hasn't been driven more than 250 miles since purchased - I do feel like they do get SO MANY things RIGHT that other dealers do no and Ken was honestly so easy and accommodating to work with that the things I noted are only to be fully transparent and honest that it's never always perfect but life isn't supposed to be, I bought my first Subaru from Ganley in July 2014 and when I was able to come back to the brand I chose to Ganley back after hitting some others and seeing what else was out there. Took my car in because of nail in tire. First of all, they charged me to LOOK at the tire and tell me there was a nail in it; THIS I ALREADY KNEW. I was told they would order me a new tire. FOUR DAYS LATER, I called to check the status of the tire arrival and THERE WAS NO RECORD OF THEM EVEN ORDERING a tire for me. I have been putting air in my wounded tire FOUR TIMES A DAY. I recently purchased a used vehicle from Gamley Subaru and I am so disappointed In the service after purchase. First when I saw the car online, a 2008 Nissan Altima,  I inquired as to the condition of the car and the person who responded to me online tried to set up an appointment rather than telling me the conditions. I had to ask and refused to come in to see the car before another person, James, from the sales department gave me the answers I needed that would prompt me to make a trip to your location. I live over 45 minutes away from the dealership, but I was very interested in the car. Upon arrival at the used car location James helped me find a car that I was interested in and sent me on a test drive. During the test drive I noticed that the warning light for the TPMS sensor was on. Given that it was a cold James confirmed that he believed it was just due to the cold and the tires being slightly under the recommended tire pressure. We discussed this and he said if it stays on after purchase bring the car back and they would fix. This resulted in me returning to the Ganley Subaru dealership four times within five days because they could not figure out why the light kept coming on after I had driven the car for approximately 15 miles after I left the dealership. They replaced the front right sensor. Finally James said that he recommended I go to a different Ganley dealership that specialize in Nissan so they could take a look at it. At that point I took the car to Ganley Nissan in Mayfield. They ran the test on the car and determined that it was the TPMS sensor in the rear right wheel. They replaced that, sent the bill to Ganley Subaru and the light was off. Approximately 15 miles later the light came back on. I promptly notified James at Ganley Subaru as well as Korey at Ganley Nissan. Korey told me that they would need to contact Ganley Subaru in order to replace the TPMS sensors for both the front and back left-hand side. I told him that I fully expected Ganley Subaru to pay for that since it was a condition of the sale. When I test drove the car James told me that they would take care of that light and make sure that it was safe. Korey then called me back and told me that Steve at Ganley Subaru was refusing to pay for the other two TPMS sensors. I promptly called Steve at the Ganley Subaru and he was rude, refused to pay to fix the car, indicated it was my fault for buying a old used car, and hung up on me. At that point I called back and spoke with Rich who said that he would look into it and see what they could do for me. The next day Rich told me that they would not be fixing the car and it would be my problem. We discussed coming to some sort of an arrangement to get the other two TPMS sensors fixed. I researched in the market and they are tire mechanics who can fix this for $75-$100 apiece, Ganley Nissan was charging $300. I have not heard from Rich and it's been over a week. I cannot express how frustrating this has been. I feel I've been treated horribly and service after the sale did not live up to the promises prior to the sale. The sales people should be giving and following up on service for a car uniformly for any car that has bought from your dealership. I've been treated poorly because I bought a 12-year-old car and not a two-year-old car. I would say this is more of a 4.5, but I round up. Yelp needs to let us do half points. So I have purchased a car and came for oil changes. From the beginning, I have had multiple Subarus. I have had terrible experiences and ok experiences. This is the best experience I have had. Yes, I love the car and how they drive and handle. This is honestly a personal preference thing as I just like the way Subarus drive as apposed to the Toyota and Honda counterparts. This is a larger dealership. They are also the traditional playing around with prices negotiating. I hate that part and that is honestly common. I didn't have time and they let me take the new car home to test drive for the night. I thought that was a nice touch. From the service standpoint. They are dog friendly and have a nice wait room. They have water and coffee while you wait. It does take some time and sometimes I am impatient. They also do oil changes weird. You just drive up and can't schedule. All in all the people are nice, they love dogs (and do adoption events). read more

I gave a minor problem with the radio system it won't load after a short stop cutting off the car and getting back into the car. when restarting the car the radio system will not load until you cut the car back off then restarting. about 80% of the time you need to restart the car. I just bought the car in January 2023 it's a subaru outback 2022. The problem with service is it take 3 weeks to set appointment if you need a loaner. Thats BS, I traded in a a2014 Subaru outback where the dealership service only took 3 days to get an appointment if not the next day and see my car and an always available. I'm taking my car back to the old service shop where the understand the customer needs. read more

We were hesitant to stop in because of the average reviews, but the great customer service was a pleasant surprise! One of our cars was making a strange noise (we tend to have bad luck with cars lately ) so we stopped at the express service and were helped right away! Apparently we caught them at a good time. They checked the car out while we hung around in the customer lounge. It only took about 20-30mins during which we watched some basketball and helped ourselves to free coffee. They explained to us exactly what was wrong with the car and actually showed us the problem when the car was raised. The car is pretty new so the part was under warranty. They put us in a rental and sent us on our way! The whole process took under an hour and we'll have the car back by Monday. Overall it was a good experience. As many have stated in their one star reviews, if i could give a zero star rating, I would have. My husband and I inquired about purchasing a specific vehicle that was listed on the dealership website. The initial inquiry went as usual -- the salesman directed us to the website to fill out the application for financing and confirmed he would be in touch within five minutes after our application was submitted, provided that we submit it immediately following the phone conversation. Per his request, we immediately followed through and submitted the finance application within five minutes of talking to him. We never heard from the sales person again following the initial conversation. It was absolutely impossible to get in touch with him no matter how many times we called and were routed to his extension to then be rerouted to the main menu. There wasn't even an option to leave a voicemail. Meanwhile, in the midst of being unable to speak to anyone except for the person responsible for answering the phones we had received numerous notifications from Credit Karma that a hard inquiry was placed on our credit report. We couldn't even get a hold of anyone to ask why our credit was being ran numerous times negatively impacting our credit score. Finally, I called and asked to speak to a sales manager. The receptionist asked if i could elaborate further of the issue I was calling about to ensure that i was directed appropriately. I briefly explained the situation and the reply was "Oh, i'm sorry, but that vehicle has been sold." They assured me that although the sales managers had conveniently been in a meeting at the time of my call, if i provided my name and phone number i would receive a call back. I have yet to receive a call or even just an explanation of why our credit was ran SIX TIMES!!! This was by far the worst experience I've ever had with any car dealership. read more

I recently went to Ganley Subaru East to purchase a 2021 Crosstrek. Talking with the salesman he informed me that Subaru is adding an additional market adjustment to all of their cars because of the chip shortage and new cars are hard to find. After reaching out to other dealerships and asking them about this market adjustment they had no idea what I was even referring to. At this point I had reach back out to my salesman at Ganley Subaru East to inquire more about this and his response was " they are lying to you to get you to come to them instead." I took both of my parents car's in last week. We lost my grandma two days before. The funeral director, random servers at restaurants, and other strangers where we paid for a service weren't friendly. I was grieving and leave it to the service consultant at Subaru, Giovanni to be the first friendly and warming person I encountered during this time. He explained the entire process, pickup window, and what was done at completion. He even offered to call my parents to relay the service done. Giovanni shook my hand and thanked me for my business and offered to take any further questions at a later date. I have been taking my 2014 Impreza to them for service over three years. This is a five star service team and the waiting area is also very nice. All of my interactions with this team have been very professional. I never feel like they are pushing anything on me that isn't needed. Their thorough walk around inspections with me, explanation of repairs and help prioritizing essential maintenance has been very helpful. They have also gone above and beyond in handling third party warranties I purchased with my car when I bought it used at another dealership. I would recommend you to purchase a used vehicle or better still be very careful when purchasing one from this dealer. Take it to your mechanic to do an inspection before the final signature. In March 2020 I bought an SVU for $11,500 but so far I have spent $3395.00 on bad brakes, oil pan leaks, etc. STILL, my check engine light is own. My experience with Ganley Subaru in Wickliffe. I entered the Vin for my late husband's Camaro on Kelly Blue Book trying to verify if the engine was a V6 or V8. I then didn't bother to figure out the answer to the V6 or V8 question, but I got an estimated sell price of $18,100. Apparently, that started the piranha school circling. The first place to contact me was Ganley Subaru. When can you come in? We really want to buy your car. Yada yada. I made an appointment for that evening for them to look at it. When I arrived, the sales guy asked if I was looking to get $18,100. I said, hopefully more. He went and talked to the manager and came back all proud and said "We can give you $18,200." He mentioned it would need new tires (I wasn't at all surprised) and said after that and detailing it, they would make $500 on it.). I felt like I was being lowballed and who goes through all that trouble to make $500? They wanted me to come in the next day and I told them I hadn't transferred the title yet, would need to do that the next day. We settled on Monday. Over the weekend, I did some more checking and got an offer of $21,500 from Autonation in Wickliffe (directly across the street as a matter of fact.). The sales manager at Ganley sent me an email over the weekend, asking how I thought things went. I told him that I got a much better offer that I'd be taking. He never told the sales guy apparently because the sales guy called in a panic Monday when I didn't show up for my appointment. Today the sales guy texted that I wouldn't get the Carvana quoted price (very similar to Autonation's price) because they'd automatically deduct new tires from that price, etc. He said he'd like to work something out. I told him sorry, I already accepted an offer that was more than Carvana's. Funny. He didn't reply! If you've read this all the way through, you know the moral of the story is don't go to Ganley Subaru East unless you like being tricked into taking a low ass offer because you're a woman who doesn't know it's value. People suck. Fustrates me that people still act this way despite the invention of the internet. read more

This dealership went the extra mile for us. The AC condenser on our 2017 Subaru Forester failed . This is a known problem. GSE took the car provided a loaner, diagnosed the problem and worked with me to get a goodwill settlement from Subaru. Instead of charging me the difference,as they could have, they agreed to settle for the goodwill settlement. Jason Caja , the service rep went the extra mile and made a bad experience good. I had visited this dealership several times in the past looking for a 1-3 yr old used Forester, they just never had the right one in stock. I like their knowledgeable sales staff and their positive attitude which is why I went to this dealership for my repair Thanks for helping us out. I called an hour before I planned to go to make sure the car I had seen online was available. The salesman said it was, and we drove 45 min to get there. We walked in the waiting area, and all the salesmen were with someone. We got tired of waiting so we walked around outside looking at the cars in the lot. Not one person came to help us. We went back in, and my wife and I are standing in the waiting room, waiting for help, and a salesman walks right by us and goes to help the next customer walking in the door. I dont know if it was a racist thing since we are not white, or if he assumed we just liked standing around. A very nice young man, (looked like he was still in high school), finally came over and asked what car we were interested in, and told us that car was in their service bay so we couldnt see it! Infuriating!! It would have been nice to have been told this over the phone and save ourselves a trip! We would have waited until the next day to come in. Instead, we just wrote that particular car and dealer off our list and will buy a car from someone else. read more

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER after 3 yrs. A "Check Engine" light came on and I took my Subaru Forester in 3 times to have it checked. They never could pinpoint the problem and at the third time, they kept the car for well over a week to try and get corporate help. During the whole time, they never once called me with any updates or information. I took my car back since they apparently were clueless as to what to do. Still giving excuses as to why they don't know what is wrong with their brand of car and they left the "check engine" on rather than clearing it so I could use the car controls properly. Beware! Love Subaru. Bought first one, a used 2011 Impreza Hatchback in Pittsburgh in 2013. Routine service maintained. Got tires & brakes. Traveled to Colorado and back. One over-heating episode - solution was new thermostat. Just did new timing belt and waterpump at 100K miles. Less than two weeks later, driving in Cleveland, "Check engine" light came on as I drove home from work. Stopped immediately. AAA towed to Ganley Subaru. Checked with them next day. Nothing done. Next day, was told likely need new engine at cost of about $7,000.00, but that they had checked my car front to back/top to bottom and documented, "RECOMMEND REMOVAL AND COMPLETE TEAR DOWN OF ENGINE TO INSPECT FOR REPAIRS." All systems, timing belt/cylinder leak test/cooling system pressure/etc. found one or two minor issues = "COOLANT LOW FLOW CONDITION" and ". . . SOME EXHAUST ENTERING INTO COOLING SYSTEM." COST = $350.94; paid this under protest and had AAA flat-bed my car to Pittsburgh to where recent timing belt/water pump installation were done two weeks earlier. COST = $196.00 RESULT = "Check Engine" was never on, it was the "Check Oil" light. Mechanic added oil, light went out, problem solved in ten minutes for less than $30.00!?! The Mechanic that performed the timing belt/water pump/addition of oil work on the Impreza has worked on the auto since I purchased it. After review of the Ganley Subaru INVOICE #184494, DATED 210CT16, initials are TC, stated, "I have worked on Subaru automobiles for over 34 years. I have never once seen an invoice from anyone, anywhere, that is as mixed up and lacking in specific content than the one from Ganley dated October 21, 2016 for this Impreza. It says nothing. The technician there did nothing. A statement that they disassembled the front of the engine and that they performed a partial disassembly of the engine, which are categorically not true, and I will testify to that fact." We will NEVER return to or do business of any kind with Ganley Subaru in Wickliffe, Ohio, and recommend avoiding this dealership to you, as well. When we called and spoke with a manager after all of this transpired, before writing this review, the attitude presented was one of total indifference. I was shown around the car and under the car with a flashlight. If it was possible to hate my car any more, I would. I called when my oil light can on a couple weeks ago. They bring me in for an oil consumption test, then trick me into getting an oil change. My car isn't covered for an oil consumption test. When I bought the car I was told the first oil change was free. It's not. I hate this place. I bought a crosstrek brand new Subaru in June. Losing enough oil by 6000 miles that it took a quart. Subaru and this dealer refuse to deal with a known problem. My first appointment when I bought the car was fine. Everyone was nice. Now they won't give you the time of day. This will be the last time they see me. Ill be getting service from my trustworthy neighborhood mechanic. I loved my first Subaru. Scott Travagliante was very helpful from begining to the end. He showed us the car from front to back, inside and out and explained everything in detail. He has owned a couple Subarus' as well so nothing better than gaining some knowledge from someone that believe in the product he sells. Love my Subaru, but beware! There is a bad salesgirl at Ganley Subaru East. I purchased a used Subaru here, and at first the salesgirl was super nice and friendly. But after the paperwork was signed, she made a comment that she "didn't like to sell used cars and would rather sell new ones because there was always going to be something wrong with used cars."  Turns out I had to return to the dealership TWICE after only having the car for a little over a month to get Certified Pre-Owned issues fixed.  These CPO things were apparently checked prior to the sale of my car, but the fact that the salesgirl made that ridiculous comment and the car had been on the lot for a very short time made me feel like my sale process was rushed and important items were overlooked on the CPO checklist. AND, the salesgirl of the year (not!) forgot to give me a copy of the CPO checklist and had to send it to me after the sale was done. Hmmm. Coincidence? The Service Department eventually took care of everything and they are awesome, but I would not recommend this place to anyone for car buying. Same as any car dealer, treated me like I was Lebron James on his way back to Cleveland when I purchased my vehicle, but as soon as I drove it off the lot it was like I moved back to South Beach. When I purchased the vehicle I had purchased a hitch to be installed at a later date. When I called to get the hitch installed on my Subaru I got the run around, no one would call me back, the sales manager that had helped me purchase the car no longer worked there and no one wanted to help me out. To this day I don't have the hitch (which I paid for) installed on my car. Its sad because I love the Subaru but when my wife purchased her Legacy we stayed clear of Ganley. read more
