I just bought my second car from Classic GMC and it couldn't have been a smoother process! Last time I purchased here was many years ago. I had pretty much decided on what I was going to buy this time and was on my way to another dealership when my husband recommended to stop and test drive a Terrain first so I could be sure. We were met by Mitch who took us for a no pressure, enjoyable test drive. He was trustworthy and authentic. The car wasn't exactly the options I had my heart set on, so Mitch suggested I look at another one they had in the back that hadn't made it to the lot yet. I took a look and it was exactly what I wanted. The interior of the dealership was bright. The restrooms were clean. The seating area in the service waiting room is comfortable. Classic Buick of Painseville wants to charge us over $600.00 to change the HID light bulb in one of the front headlights that has burned out. This sounds outrageous, but is this normal? We also had the breaks rechecked and fixed in August after replacing them in April 2023, and they are recommending "installing telco breaks on front and they squeak", charging us $225.00 after doing the same thing in August. Feels like we are being taken advantage of, any thoughts? read more

I came in to get an oil change and a wheel alignment. John was very helpful and friendly from the beginning of my visit. It ended up being a long visit due to some horrible work that was done by another repair shop that had to then be fixed by the guys at Classic. John took great care of me and my car. The technician who worked on it to fix the errors was also very friendly and informative of what was wrong and what needed to be done to repair it. I appreciate everything that was done for me during this visit. This team went above and beyond to make sure that I was safe on the road and well taken care of. Terrible service department! They really all need to take better care of their customers.

I had a minor accident in that a big landscape vehicle forced me into a commercial garbage can. The impact broke off my passenger mirror and damaged the door. I had a trip the next day. Serviceman John got my car in immediately, provided a temporary car, and had the mirror installed by end-of-day. I thought they did everything they could to help me resolve the issues. read more

My wife brought our 2011 Terrain in for an oil change. She was told that the vehicle required an anti-freeze flush and transmission service. She was told we were two years overdue for the anti-freeze flush. Given that we service our vehicle regularly, at Classic GMC Painesville, I was astonished to hear that we had missed this service, and for such a significant amount of time. My wife went ahead and had the oil changed and the anti-freeze flush service done. This was on Wednesday, 5/23. I did not use the car on 5/24. I drove to work and back on 5/25 - a total of 14 miles. When we went to use the car today, we suddenly started receiving warning bells messages in the driver information center that the vehicle was overheating, that we needed to let it run idle, and that the A/C had to be automatically shut-down to prevent overheating. In addition the Temperature gauge was rapidly running from Midway between C and H up to H, back towards C, and up to H again. I am extremely suspicious of this overheating considering I just had the recommended, supposedly overdue anti-freeze flush performed at this dealership. This is not the first time I've had issues arise related directly to service just performed, by this dealership, on this vehicle. I have had several instances where services were performed, and required resets of gauges and/or monitors were not completed. I have also experienced services left incomplete, or not performed at all, while being assured by a service technician that they were complete. I am an EXTREMELY dissatisfied customer. I had issues with my last oil change and service. We gave this dealership one more chance, and once again, they appear not to have done the work correctly and or completely. My wife left a message with the dealership. I expect them to remedy this situation immediately. I further expect a full refund on a service which was expensive, and does not seem to have been done in a proper manner. I will not recommend this dealership to anyone. read more

Dave Matchinga what more can I say, he was on it. I started looking for a 2017 GMC pick up back on 7-30-16 and struggled with not one not two but three dealerships, the first being junction auto, the second sims buick and the third being preston auto, I have the dated emails to back this up as well. All three dealerships took so long to get back with me from the start and couldn't follow the simple task of building a truck online. Dave Matchinga on the other hand answered his phone asked me what I wanted, I told him the specific build on my 2017 GMC HD pick up and he said ok let me call you back in five minutes. Four minutes and twenty eight seconds past and my phone rang. It was Dave with a price on the truck I wanted built, we talked for a few more minutes and I went in to meet him to put money down to start the build and the truck was there three weeks later. Dave had everything ready to go after we had a few texts to each other and I showed up at Classic GMC at 4:45 pm and was driving down mentor avenue by 5:15 pm in my new 2017 GMC deep garnet 3500 HD. The smoothest fastest truck buying experience I ever had, Dave is a steller guy and gets it done without any headaches, I found it hard to believe the other three dealerships didn't want my money for there product, I even got into it with them about not calling back on time and calling me every now and then trying to sell me a truck off the lot that didn't match what I wanted, they struggled with building the truck with me online. I hope this letter finds it's way to the owner and manager of Classic GMC in Painesville. Dave Matchinga is the man and I will be letting all my friends and family know where to go to buy a vehicle. I can see that Dave takes great pride in his work, he should be a teacher for other salesmans. And on a side note I still have my 2000 chevy express truck that has 275,000 miles on it and is still in service as my work truck that I got from Classic Chevy in Mentor on route 615. I have never experienced customer service as amazing as I did working with David Paul. I was referred to this salesman while looking for a new used car to purchase. He was EXTREMELY helpful throughout the whole process by showing me cars that fit in my budget and giving great comparisons between all the prospects. He was honest, friendly, and not your "typical" salesman just trying to sell anything. He was confident in the used car I chose to purchase and provided all the facts clearly before I made my final decision. I was able to take home my new car the same day thanks to his quickness in the process. About a week after my purchase, I ran into a problem with my car and called Dave immediately. Not only did he help me discover what the problem was (dead car battery), he also made sure the problem was resolved immediately by having me come straight to the dealership to have my battery tested. Sure enough, they found out the battery needed to be replaced and provided the service of no charge AND a free rental car to accommodate. I am so pleased to have been working with David Paul, and HIGHLY recommend everyone to see him for your next vehicle purchase!
