Wow; this is a great little water park for kids and families!…read more Our church school academy here in Jacksonville booked the entire water park for our K-6 graders plus their families 9am until 12:30pm. I drove the big bus for the school for this event today. I didn't take any photos of the park due to the kids; wouldn't be appropriate! If you want to see photos how things are setup look on their website. * Love how the kids water area is setup! They have a lot of large umbrellas set up all around to sit under. They also have a lazy river and large pool. Every one had a great time today! This is definitely a great place for families for the day. Thank you St Marys Aquatic Center for all you do for the community!

That said, the slide is nice (don't wear shorts or swim wear with grommets on it or they'll offer to cut holes in your pants to remove it or not allow you to get on the slide). The lazy river is short but nice. The season pass options seemed decent. Food inside is rather overpriced and food allergies can't be accommodated. That said, plenty of chair to choose from, if you're willing to cross the lazy river by foot you can set up your things in the middle of the lazy river and enjoy a bit quieter of an area. Nice splash area for kids with a dunking water bucket. Would go again

First off, the free parking deserves its own standing ovation. Pull in, park, no stress, no drama, no circling like you are hunting for buried treasure. That alone already put everyone in a good mood. But the real star of the day was the ocean. The Atlantic Ocean was doing its thing like it always does, loud, endless, and a little dramatic in the best way. The waves would roll in all calm and pretty, and then suddenly act like they had something to prove when they hit the shore. My family spent half the time just watching the water like it was a live show we all agreed to attend. The kids were running in and out of the surf like the ocean was a game level they were trying to beat. Meanwhile the adults were pretending to be chill but really just trying not to get knocked over by surprise waves or lose a sandal to the sea forever. There was something about standing there with salt air, wind blowing, and that huge stretch of ocean in front of us that made everything feel simple in the best way. No schedules, no rush, just waves, laughs, and somebody always saying "don't go too far!" We ate, we laughed, we got sandy in places we will not discuss in public, and we loved every minute of it. Five stars. Great KY family day, perfect Atlantic Ocean views, and free parking that should honestly be illegal for how convenient it was.

The water looks dark blue from afar when the sky is very cerulean blue but it's murky when you are inside the water. You literally cannot see your own hands when you're inside the water. The water looks black when it's overcast. The boardwalk is not full and or very long. Also, there are lots of homeless people living under the fishing pier. I was on the 5th floor of the beach front hotel when I witnessed a brawl between some of them. A group of homeless were kicking out a homeless man and woman because they had gone to their "terf" and complained about the bags of feces. And the group of homeless kicked them out and said that it was their "terf" and threw fist up and followed them all the way to the boardwalk and made sure that they left their "terf." They were ready to go to blows. This problem has been for many years; I remember coming when I was a little kid and the homeless making a ruckus about people going under the pier or using the pier for shade. Also, the homeless take a bath in the public fresh water showers and it's disturbing. I saw two of them bathing with the shower and they were using paper as a scrub and leaving the papers there; it's disgusting. What I didn't see at the boardwalk and beach was a police presence. Also, the homeless walk the beach the whole night with flashlights and in mass. In my opinion it's dangerous for tourist, especially for women to walk in the dark of the night in this public space. I would have loved to take a night stroll by the beach shore but I opted out of that after seeing these homeless men walking up and down the beach shore all night.

My dog doesn't like being approached randomly by dogs so being around off leashed dogs is always a risk. We do extensive research when going to beaches for her since she loves digging and swimming. Overall it was a very clean beach and we love how spread out it was for our reactive dog. It is on the the top list of dog beaches for us to visit!

I thought it was great they had an obstacle course on part of the water but you had to go through the swim class, etc to be able to do it (I understand for safety but our 4 year old with his chest/arm floats was disappointed.) The actual pool was okay but not much to do in it. They just had one basketball hoop and possibly one basketball. I loved how they had a big kids area that was fenced off with different water things. That only lasted 5-10 mins for us. Overall, it was okay. I would not go back...

Scouting is in my blood- I love nature, kids almost always love me & I am not afraid to get dirty!…read moreI am a new volunteer to this council and this was my first time at one of our local camps, located in Orange Park, this camp had to be here long before any of the neighborhoods! Great waterfront access & there is a pool. A climbing tower! I didn't explore too much- there was a leader training I was popping in to show my support for a friend who was teaching the course. She was set up in campsite 8 and unfortunately the campsites need some serious maintenance- poison ivy is overgrown in most of the sites! Fire pits have not been raked and cleaned. In my old council, our Order of the Arrow helped the Camp Rangers every year to clean up and do service around the camps. I have no idea if that is done here, but it needs some tlc. I can't wait to see more of this camp!

I lived next door for years but today was my first experience at the Boy Scout owned facility…read more Founded in the early 1920's the large parcel of land has 8 huge campsites and several halls. It has a sparling blue pool that is next to the beautiful waterfront area and dock. I saw a a chery area and even a climbing wall. The place was well kept up and the restrooms were clean. Great place for fun activities. For the kids and family.
