The teachers in the toddler room plan amazing lessons. They treat each kid like a little artist and everything is very project based. The facility is clean with great toys for learning. And the playground is safe and wonderful for the very youngest of learners. They use an app which provides updates including photos and videos. As a new parent, leaving my child at daycare made me very nervous. But the staff has my full trust and their stellar communication has given me great confidence. I see my child being social and exploring at such a great pace. I really think it takes a village to raise a child and I consider Primrose a part of ours. We are very grateful.

Both have thrived and loved coming there and both have left/are leaving ready for Pre-K 3. It is a small, bilingual Spanish daycare setting with a tight knit community of parents. The kids do lots of learning, playtime, singing, arts and crafts, etc. Maria helped both of our kids potty train and she always struck the right balance of being invested but also keeping things low pressure for anxious parents. Many families were on their second to even fourth child at the daycare and the kids always run to go inside when we arrive. When the kids are so small and cannot always voice how they feel, this was a good sign for me of the great care they were receiving. Would whole heartedly recommend to anyone looking for care in the area.

The apathy, and eventual attempt to turn the case (of physical abuse against a child) into a case of parent-teacher conflict is appalling. I have attached pictures of my email exchanges with the Casa Lala team, and their poor handling of this case. Going by their Google Reviews, this is not an isolated incident. Another parent who reported abuse against their child was treated unfairly too.

I heard from other parents that they loved the Casa Lala summer camp program so we enrolled the kid there for aftercare since the Taylor street location was a closer pickup for us. Casa Lala has two other locations which are actually home based daycares but the Taylor street location is a school-like space that used to house Breakthrough Montessori. Casa Lala is also montessori based and the director, Lala, is well loved by parents and kids. When I did a tour of Casa Lala, Lala was intent on showing me every classroom and room (even storage and offices!) and every classroom we went to, kids would run to hug her and yell "Lala!" Some of these kids are 10+ and she watched them when they were babies. She's been running a daycare from her home for over 10 years and I believe helped set up the program at LAMB. She is SO passionate about montessori style education and all the teachers are intentional about the environment and what the kids are exposed to and how they are learning. It's already a great space but Lala is still working on renovating it to feel more like a home/cozy environment. She was telling me she's trying to design one of the spaces to be a plaza where the older kids can meet and roam in. And there's a cute outdoor scooter space. I would ask them for a tour if you are interested, I learned a lot about early childhood philosophy from Lala in just 20 mins. She just exudes excitement and passion. And I can tell from the way the staff greet her and interact that she's a great boss whose passion is infectious. Every staff person I've met is friendly and welcomes my kid by name. And the kid loves going there she talks about it all the time. I would check out their website but I believe they offer day camps, school break camps, before/aftercare, and daycare as well.

I…read moreused to teach Montessori when I was in college and I can testify that not all preschools are as high quality as you would hope, but I have been extremely pleased with our experience at Family Academy of Bethesda in both the younger and older classrooms. They take care of things for you and are completely child-centered, and they somehow manage to be laid back and provide a stronger academic program than most schools. The kids are all lively and sweet and engaged-- I was a little worried about preschool crushing my son's spirit but Family Academy really seems to follow the Montessori idea for real and created a real curiosity and love of learning in my 2 year old. It is so fun to watch him color and wash dishes and it's clear he enjoys it. The school buildings are a little dilapidated, but I think that's because the staff is focused on quality teaching for the kids rather than expanding and looking fancy to attract more parents. Anyway they are totally clean and each classroom is it's own house, which is really cute. Definitely would recommend it if you can get a spot.
