I came here because the food and the customer service at the other branch was exceptional. This place was the complete opposite and I am highly disappointed. The lady at the counter was kinda unhappy and disgruntled when I asked her about the food. She started making my shawarma and I asked her if she could make it in the pita and she flipped and said yes but smashed the bun in her hand in the counter and she picked up the buns and smashed them in the bins. I could clearly see the anger on the face. Even though I said I am sorry multiple times and that I should have mentioned it earlier and trying to make it better but she was just angry. She didn't ask me if I wanted any sauce or add ons but when I asked her for garlic sauce she remembered and told me if I wanted anything else on it. They have their own signature drinks and none of them are sugar free so usually I make it a meal and they give me diet coke but she directly said no and said that I would have to pay for the diet coke otherwise I can take the drink from the fountain. All in all a very disappointing experience and I am never coming back to this branch. Mind you I drove from tama which like a hour and a half away to come to this place.

Chicken salad with tomato cucumber mix, pepperchini peppers, onions, pickled cabbage, cilantro sauce ---- YUM!

I needed some healthy food for lunch while I work out of town and this place hit the spot! There are rice bowls, salads, and delicious offerings but the chicken salad with all the veggies... OOOO! So good! Their proteins are quite flavorful and tender. I tried the spankopita and was hoping for more flavor, but it wasn't quite there. I usually like baklava, but was not prepared for the sweet sensation, lol. I intend to try their rice pudding for breakfast sometime or their parfait! For lunch, I enjoyed their chocolate chip cookie -- yes. Very good. Either way, go there and put their cilantro sauce on literally ANYTHING! Also, the owners (or managers) are really sweet.

Loved the steak rice bowl with so many choices to go on top: lentils, chick peas, romaine. Feta, and so much more. It comes with a pita too. The service was fast and they were great at giving is suggestions of what works good together. The ambience is fun and relaxing.

More generosity from community partners. Thank you for your twice a week donations to Urban Dreams.

Not only is the food amazing, their generosity is second to none. Since December 2020, The Simple Greek has donated hot meals to Urban Dreams twice a week. The freashly prepared single serve meals are an absolute hit in our community. Moreover, they are needed and appreciated. Please support businesses that support the community.

I really wanted to like this place especially after seeing this on The profit TV show because I really enjoy that show. The concept is great it's kind of like a Greek version of Chipotle. The problem is the ingredients are not well executed. The pitas are not homemade they're out of the bag, the meat that you put inside the pita is dry and not super flavorful even the gyro meat is not flavorful. The staff is not particularly friendly or quick. One thing that is really good is their baklava I would really recommend that but everything else is average at best. The Greek fries for example could be really good if they are fresh fried and served crispy with the feta and vinegar on them. Instead they're served in a box soggy and steamed almost. The gyro wrap is okay but only slightly better than a frozen version that I can buy at Target unfortunately I don't think I'll be back.

This place has some good food. Been here a couple times now. Ankeny needed a fast food Greek place. Each time I've had a gyro rice bowl. The gyro meat is good and you can add a variety of things to go with it (tzatziki sauce with anything is good to me) The chicken gyro is good too. The patio is great place to enjoy your food here.

Love this Greek restaurant! Friendly staff, great healthy fast food, enjoyable environment. I've gone here about once a week since they opened and have had a great experience each time. Not sure why there's so many low reviews, of course it's a new restaurant so there's going to be some bumps in the road in the first month. You've got to try this place and you'll fall in love too!

Good flavor , but for $17, I'd expect more chicken than I got. The atmosphere is also not great, as it is not cozy and there is no music

Great food! It isn't super cheap, but it's worth it. Quality food! My favorite is the falafel pita.

It's fresh and delicious! We really miss our authentic gyro joint in our home town, but this has been an excellent addition to Ankeny.

The food outshined the service!…read more Ambiance: 4 stars Food: 5 stars Service: 2 stars Well, I came here with a friend for lunch. He loves the place and said the Gyros are fantastic. So I went with his recommendation. First impressions: The place is small and nicely located in the District at Prairie Trail in Ankeny. They have adequate seating and were only slightly busy when we arrived (I would say it was at half capacity the entire time we were there) We stood at the reception location for a while before we were 'greeted' and finally seated. We sat for quite a while before the guy with the headset to came back to take our orders. This was the weird part - he was fine, but he spoke so quietly we were not sure he was addressing us or talking to someone in his headset. Eventually we got our orders in, and we again waited. Some time later the water showed up, then after another pause the drinks we ordered were delivered, and sometime later the food showed up. He even remembered the dipping sauce which I thought I was going to have to ask for. We ate our entire meals without once being asked how things were, and eventually after the food was all gone, he came back to unceremoniously plop the bill on the table, and after another extended period he came back to process the payment. All-in-all the interaction with this guy was 'just weird'. (It was suggested that he might be the son of the owner...) He was doing his job but there was absolutely not any extra effort put in to make us feel welcome, and the total lack any real interaction was off-putting. The overall appearance of the place was nice and appeared clean, the decor was fresh and classy. However the bar area around the kitchen was very cluttered and looked like it was being used for overflow storage and it was a bit chaotic and had lots of clutter. Please forgive the fact that I forgot to take pictures of the delicious food. I got into conversation with my friend and just forgot! It was a very well made traditional Gyro with generous portions of meat, fresh hummus and a perfect portion of super fresh tzatziki sauce. I ordered fresh jalapeños and they got that right too! The side of fries were delicious as well, seasoned perfectly, crispy and fresh, and the garlic sauce...well did not lack for garlic! Wowza!! Overall I do recommend this place for the food! I will most likely return and I hope that the service will be a little better next time around.

Still, it was nothing that would ever draw me back given the discomfort we three felt from the waiter. Sorry, we were hoping to find a gem. We only found a dour place to eat and drop $45 for three meals.

I really wanted to like this place as it's new to Ankeny and a local small business but I have to…read moresay my first time here was underwhelming. We were seated quickly at 5:45. Two other tables in the place were occupied. Host came and gave us waters/silverware. We didn't see a server for 15 minutes while the host came by again gave us some bread. We let him know we were ready to place a drink/app order. He said he was just the host, he'd go look for our server and also apologized for the wait because they were slammed. No other tables had filled other than the 2 that were occupied when we came in. There was an uninterested bartender, or rather just a guy standing on the other side of the bar because he didn't do anything the whole time we were there. Our server came over after another 5 minutes and took our drink/app order. While waiting for our drinks, the table behind us complained about their steak & said it was inedible and the server brought the owner out who offered them half off their bill & gave them free desserts. When our drinks finally came (40 minutes later), we said we were ready to place our entree order. She took our order, seemed unenthused & said "it will be awhile for the garlic knots, we are super busy, so... sorry." Still only 3 occupied tables. The garlic knots came out & they were the same bread as the ones that came out for free in the beginning. Would have been good to know before we paid extra for them as the appetizer. They were good and buttery. The side salads were rather boring, romaine lettuce & cucumbers and an underwhelming amount of croutons. The ranch for the salad was quite good. Our entrees came out an hour after ordering. My husband ordered the lasagna & said it tasted good but it was more like a baked pasta with thick layer of cheese, then a layer of lasagna noodle on top of a pasta-sauce soup. I ordered the chicken parm. Presentation was not good. Not enough sauce, too much cheese. Chicken was breaded well but I barely got to it. Taste was not very flavorful. I didn't dislike it but I won't be desperate to eat it again. We had to ask for refills every time we needed one. Didn't complain but we did ask for our check right away, the owner came over apologizing for the wait and offered us a free dessert. She was very nice and apologetic & we felt bad. We chose a cannoli and it was delicious. The owner told us she makes the cannoli filling herself and it was so good!! The entire meal took a little over 2 hours & we're not sure if we'll be back, but if we were it would be for the owner's cannolis & not for dinner. I hope it was just an off night & might suggest hiring better staff if it wasn't.

We love Bianca's. The food is delicious and unique. Not typical and boring like chain restaurants…read more The owner creates a wonderful Ambiance and provides a wonderful wine collection. It was slow when there last night and the owner is not afraid to work and provide wonderful service.
