This library is clearly well-funded, thoughtfully staffed, and built around way more than just books. It's incredibly clean, welcoming, and genuinely designed for families and community use. The children's area alone is amazing. They have: experiential toddler toys Vox books that actually read aloud to kids multilingual books interactive learning stations rotating displays and activities But honestly, the thing that makes this library stand out is their "Library of Things." Over the years we've borrowed: a ukulele stamps/craft supplies a sewing machine a piano keyboard memory games kids' board games toys Matchbox car sets Barbie dolls teacher book kits with hand puppets And somehow everything is ALWAYS in amazing condition. Even the puzzles somehow still have all the pieces, which honestly feels like wizardry at this point. The seating options are great, the staff is consistently helpful, and the study rooms are actually clean and pleasant to use (don't even get me started on some of the Boise library study rooms). I wouldn't necessarily call this a "quiet library," but I mean that in the best possible way. It feels alive and family-friendly without being chaotic. Their programming is also fantastic. Follow them on Facebook or Instagram because some of their paint nights, family events, and 4pm kids classes are genuinely adorable and surprisingly well done. This place has become such a core part of our family life. Just an all-around exceptional library and one of my favorite places in Eagle.

It is well staffed, pretty clean, especially the bathrooms, and offers a great deal to the community. Their kids section, new books, & DVDs were especially good. The DVDs are vast & perfect if you aren't streaming at home. There are even DVD courses to learn new things from art to algebra for homeschoolers or those who are deep diving a subject. Lots of extras here. [The only downside is the homeless and their pets taking over the outside front, talking loudly, and using the bathrooms inside. I almost don't mention it to avoid anyone being turned off but it is reality everywhere now.] So many floors to explore. ( see my photo the map of the library and what is where. ) There were places to sit and read comfortably. A place to refill your water bottle or get a drink is a plus while visiting here. I mean, I typically say the word "library"in such a way that begs an exclamation point. Ie: I love the library! My favorite place? The library! Books! Books! Books! Liiiiibraaarrrry!! (I did mention that I'm a big ol' book geek?) As much as I love to wander through the shelves of books, I'm a busy person (so many books, so little time). So, here's how to do the Boise Public Library(!) busy girl style: Get yourself a library card (of course) Sign onto their website (www.boisepubliclibrary.org) Plug in the title of desired book from your "books to read" list. If you don't have a "books to read" list, search online for a book that you might like. You can search on the library's catalog online or wander around Amazon. Click "place hold." They don't need to have it at the branch that's most convenient for you--as long as they have it somewhere, you can choose to pick it up at the branch of your convenience. Receive email (usually, if its immediately available within a day or so) that book is ready. Go to library, go directly to hold section (right in front of check-out), grab book, check-out (I'm usually in, out, book in hand in less than 2 minutes). Voila! Your next literary adventure is waiting in your hot little hands... Get to it!

When he finds all of the clues, he chooses a Pokémon card and wants to go back every time. Their book selection, for my son is excellent. This historically significant and grand building is open to the public from 7 am - 7 pm, 7 days a…read moreweek. I was pleasantly surprised, that yes, I can just walk up the grand staircase and into the rotunda. The liberty bell is currently being restored so it's not there but the rotunda and statues are all there. You can take the free tour and if not, just walking around and finding pockets of history is inspiring. For instance, the mail tunnels/gold slots are active ones so if you plan ahead, you can mail something out from the capital building (sadly, it doesn't have a special postmark). Also, the Idaho treasurer's office hallway is worth a visit because Spuddy Buddy dressed up as American heroes is just so Idaho. If you start there, you can pick up a 250th year scavenger hunt for kids where they can walk into the house of reps and collect stickers, bookmarks, and other things from the offices there. Also, don't skip out on the historical room with the bank vault doors. If you are into old bank doors (e.g. the bank door and vault at 8 Horses Lounge), they have two here with great random facts. I don't know what parking is like but many people ride Lime scooters and bikes there.

Lots of incredible ornate architecture, marble and other fancy stones galore are used in many opulent carvings and designs throughout the building. There are many historical sculptures in this capitol and there's also a small museum like exhibit at the basement inside that goes over the history of Idaho and important past, recent, and current events. Their legislature's meeting hall was also quite large and regal. All in all, it was an eye-opening tour of Idaho's capitol building, it really is worth a visit here to see some pretty amazing sculptures, paintings, architecture (especially the rotunda), and to learn about this state's history in a real life way.

Its the best to get away from the noisy students who know they SHOULDNT be on the 4th floor, but they are and they are loud! there were a few nights I was there where there were some middle eastern/muslim people who were doing their prays or something....and honestly? in the freakin library????? NO! That is not cool! I would have gone down to complain, but I have my laptop, my camera, backpack,...I have to pack all of that up because they say that people were stealing items that were left while people went to the bathroom or whatever....so, naturally Im not going to leave ANY of my personal items...So basically, you may hear some muslims praying or just other students who are flat out rude and don't care about others who are trying to focus. They are kids tho, those ones...and thats to be expected I guess? Its the library to go to though. You really will get you stuff done. The public library up the street...children. Enough said haha! :) What I said above, just take that as one or two incidents, mainly with the muslim people, don't see it as an everyday thing, because every experience I have there is usually a fantastic one! :)

Is it the best library in the history of the world? No. But it does have the friendliest and most…read morehelpful reference librarians who specialize in a vast array of topics. The first floor has the check-out and circulation desks, printers & computer stations for use, e-catalogs, plus some open meeting areas. There is also a Starbucks connected to the main level which is a great place to grab a cup of coffee or meet up with study partners. My one big complaint about the library has to do with quiet space. Dedicated study carrels are available first come, first served on the first day of the semester and they are promptly gone the first day of the semester. The floors that are supposed to be "quiet" floors are not really that quiet (I've often heard very loud talking and laughing on the third floor, which is one of the quietest ones). And the enclosed rooms that are also first come, first served are always taken by individuals or groups. I wish there were more quiet places in the library to study. However, there *are* noise-canceling headsets available on the first floor if you want to study in peace. This library also checks out electronics like iPads and laptop computers. Plus, it has one of the prettiest views of the river (great to rest your eyes and give you a sense of calm during finals week) if you grab a desk on that side of the building.

When they "buy" books from you, they give less than 10 cents for most of them. Then they throw away tons of books and CDs that they just bought from you without telling you. Only a small portion actually makes it to the shelf. Why don't they just tell the customers they won't buy them? Why would I want my things to be thrown away rather than go to a little free library to be read??? This seems like false advertising for a business that advertises being eco friendly and "saving" books. I loved them before I found this out and now I feel disturbed that they hide this from customers.
