I beg to differ regarding EM K 'review. My personal experience with "owner of "Garden Party Florist", Brian Hobbs, firmly stands on the opposite end of EM K's spectrum. Brian's creative vision and elegant ,efficient planning of a significant event in my life was not only memorable but uniquely, positively perfect. He has the desire and communication skills to understand exactly what I wanted and implemented my wishes with such understated, simple appeal. The event was perfect thanks to his attention to detail and his attention to my ideas. I may be somewhat of a " golden girl" but I am certainly not a rich, witch, with "bad taste. " Brian earned my respect by listening to me and spinning my ideas into gold. Sure is interesting how a quick , harsh, judgemental snapshot drastically differs from a richly rewarding working relationship that resulted in a cherished memory. Garden Party Florist is my favorite gift shop in Stillwater. The building and its inventory as well as the events that owner Brian Hobbs coordinates all reflect his talent for decorating and entertaining -- a talent for combining new and used, expensive and inexpensive to create beauty. Shopping there is a comfortable rather than intimidating experience not only because I can find inexpensive, one-of-a-kind items right next to high-end, one-of-a-kind items but also because Brian and his sales associates are so eager to help and so enthusiastic about their merchandise. Although I've not yet had an opportunity to plan an event with Brian yet, I understand that he is wonderful to work with; and I look forward to eventually learning that first-hand. I don't really know what else to say other than that Brian was absolutely born to do what he is doing and that his team was amazing!! I came to Brian in June for my September wedding after my previous florist fell through and I absolutely wish that I had started working with him from the beginning. He immediately understood what I wanted and it was like he took the vision straight out of my head for what I pictured on my wedding day. His design and taste is flawless and he also helped create a beautiful tablescape for our head table. Brian even has an extensive rental inventory, which made designing even easier! For various reasons, I pretty much NEVER post public reviews of any businesses with which I have any sort of dealings. However, I feel compelled to show my appreciation to this store because the wonderful staff really helped make my special someone's day become an extra special day. I live many states away, so I was unsure of how reliable Garden Party would be. They were extremely accommodating to my particular requests (almost excitedly-so) and they pulled off a perfect, beautiful arrangement. I've been consistently impressed with the quality of flowers and service from this new florist. Think they've only been open a several months, but I've used them a 3 times: first time for flowers for my wife, then a work party, and just last week, unfortunately, a memorial piece. All three times I've been impressed with the freshness of flowers, uniqueness of design, and customer service. The building is beautiful, it's easy to get in and out of, and they have had a large selection of flowers each time I've been in. Prices are reasonable. I am very excited to have a new (and awesome) option in town for flowers. I've ordered a couple times from Garden Party and the flowers have always been beautiful. I feel like I'm pretty knowledgeable about flowers, but they have varieties that I've never seen. And both arrangements lasted for about 2 weeks. I love to have fresh flowers around the house. I used Garden Party for my wedding and cannot recommend them any higher! Yes, flowers are pricy for weddings but Garden Party gives you soo much for your money and doesn't cut corners.
