Honestly, we have all heard that before, but sure enough, 10 days later we received a text and an email that said that they were ready to go. Went to the attached invoice, paid using ApplePay, and received a text that afternoon that they had already taken them to the post office to mail! The main reason for my 5-star rating is due to the level of service that I received with my latest purchase. During the coldest Bedlam game I have ever experienced, I stopped in looking for the warmest coat I could find. I found a great (and not cheap) puffy NorthFace jacket that I purchased and carried with me until the game started. Unfortunately when I put it on, I noticed several small slits at the bottom of the jacket where the stuffing was coming out. At the end of the game, we brought the jacket back and they offered to personally take the jacket to their NorthFace rep in Dallas to be either repaired or replaced under the NorthFace warranty. Unfortunately after inspection, the NorthFace rep could not help as it was apparently a burn and not a tear (which I am sure I did at some point when walking through numerous tailgates with heaters blazing). Nonetheless, the store manager offered to have it repaired at their tailor at no cost to me, and even had it shipped to my house in Tulsa! I greatly appreciated the level of service that I often do not experience at other retailers these days and plan to continue shopping at The Wooden Nickel in the future.

There weren't many baked goods available but it was late in the afternoon (nearly 4) when we visited. The plants however, WOW! So many beautiful specimens of annuals, perennials, shrubs, and many trees. We bought a hard to find Meyer Lemon tree which was in very good condition and has fruit that will be maturing soon. The staff were warm and friendly but also knew how to care for the plants. Excellent!

You would walk in and feel like you're immediately at home, being greeted and cared to by the staff. The original store closed, but it was reopened under new owners. We stopped in expecting to find the same, charming shop, but instead we found a shell of the old store. The owner and worker on staff acted like we were inconveniencing them by even being in the store. We didn't feel welcomed or appreciated at all. There wasn't much to look at, and they seemed to have sectioned off a huge section of the store for an office? I'm not sure. In any case, we won't be back here more than likely. I miss the old shop and owner!
