Customer service was awful. They must not treat their employees well because the vibe was off and uncomfortable

I've been getting lots of my plants from the Garden Spot for over 15 years. The staff are always friendly and knowledgeable. The plants are healthy and there is always a wonderful selection. I can find perennials I can't find other places. The employees go out of their way to make sure you find what you are looking for and are always ready to help load your car. It is so much nicer then going to one of the chain stores. Oh, and they have fun classes throughout the year. I made a Christmas Wreath last year, the Garden Spot provided all the materials. Worth a stop in!!! read more

Lovely little nursery, we've found some nice gems for our garden here and the staff are terrifically friendly and helpful.

1. Consistently top quality landscaping, decorative, and houseplant selection. All my houseplants from here FLOURISH and I promise you, it's not me 2. Gift shop that is always rotating out - where do they get all this seriously adorable stuff from?! Want it all 3. They offer crafty and educational classes - just took my first today (made a terrarium!) 4. Customer service is 10/10++++++. I am ALWAYS greeted my someone asking if I need help. 5. Great place for Christmas trees, get ours here every year. 6. Ambiance/environment is so sweet and well curated. Especially in the colder months, they've got plenty of hygge with fire pits, sitting nooks, hot cider etc making each visit feel super special and cozy. The spirit of this place shines through in everything they do and I really feel like that can be challenging to cultivate in a business place of any kind. But when a place * gets it * they really get it and Garden Spot does. A well loved gem in our community. read more

They have good selections of flowers, trees, shrubs, everything gardening basically as well as lots of great gift options. I can't suggest this place enough. This is the CUTEST garden nursery place I've ever been to! The staff were warm and welcoming, knowledgeable and honest (I was accidentally charged twice and they made sure it was right!)... Angela felt like a friend from another life- she noticed I was foodcentric and got me the coolest Saffron bulbs! There were complimentary cupcakes and cider for the guests (Halloween) and my fam and I spent time taking pictures in their fun display... stop looking for a nursery because this is the place to go!!! Very friendly staff and readily available to help you brainstorm any project you have. I find all their greenery to be affordable, it's just the pots that are a little pricey. They are high end glazed pots, which aren't cheap almost anywhere, but I typically wait for a pottery sale before I can consider getting one. They also have nice modern indoor hanging pot selections that aren't over priced that I love. read more

Confession: I've lived in Bellingham for nearly two decades and had NEVER visited the Garden Spot Nursery before! Wow, was I missing out. This place is tiny but it packs a huge punch in its location behind Trader Joe's. From the outside it looks like they wouldn't have much, but when you enter it's like you've arrived at a magical garden fairyland with just about anything a green thumb could need. They've got indoor and outdoor plants, planters, garden art, herbs, perennials, annuals, shrubs, trees, gifts large and small, stepping stones, books, windchimes...and probably a lot more that I didn't even notice. And the staff is amazingly friendly. I was looking for an herb for my daughter to plant and they helped me pick out just the right one. The Garden Spot is the type of place that makes me wish I had a place to garden - 'cuz I'd probably spend every spare dime I had there! Meanwhile, I'm looking forward to going back and just wandering around again. read more

We drove up from Oak Harbor to get off the island and thought we'd check out some nurseries and explore Bellingham and I'm glad we did. Their selection of plants was amazing and we spent was too much money and had to leave before we bought her more because we wanted everything. Vegetables, fruit, herbs, flowers it was all beautiful, well taken care of and healthy. The staff was really helpful even with it being busy and came out to pass out candy because we were waiting in line to check out. We ended up with basil, Spanish and English lavender, blueberries, a bay leaf plant, pear tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, a few spicy pepper varieties, a peach colored rose, cucumbers, 3 varieties of mint including grapefruit and apple lot and I think Moroccan mint. There were way more plants that we bought but that's what I remember. If you love gardening you should definitely check out the Garden Spot. read more

The Garden Spot is a great little nursery right on the corner of Alabama St, behind Trader Joe's. They have beautiful hanging baskets (great place to buy a Mother's Day present). They are considerably more expensive than a place like Lowe's, but they aren't real competitors, since Garden Spot tends to sell more one of a kind and original baskets. read more

Nice place with friendly and helpful employees. I came in looking for a new friend, and following information such a location and water time, I was given several suggestions. There's such a large variety of plants and decorations available that it can be somewhat overwhelming. Don't be shy, ask for help. It's October, which means there's a large selection of pumpkins, gourds, and other seasonal items. Everything seems to be very reasonably priced. In the end, I didn't buy a new friend. I just couldn't commit. But I'll be back on another day when I'm ready. read more

Looked up local nurseries on yelp and found out that this one had a "planting day"! Went there with my mom and picked out a few flower plants then asked a staff member for help filling the rest of the pot. She not only completed our pots but since it was planting day, she filled the pots with complementary dirt and fertilizer. Then she planted all of our plants in our pots for free as we stood there. If that wasn't enough, all the flowers in our pots were 10% off! This experience was amazing. Great selection and great staff. read more

Great nursery right in the neighborhood! The staff is knowledgable and passionate. They always have just what I need, including advise, inspiration, and everything for indoor and outdoor plants. They help make sure I have everything I need for a project even if I am acquiring some items elsewhere. They have pond supplies, trees, dirt, and large project items in addition to smaller plants and decor. The Garden Spot hosts regular classes for a fee, some of which are appropriate for kids and families to attend together. I have not attended one because I work weekends and classes seem to be Saturday AM usually, but the topics all look great. This is a fun place to go and explore for inspiration and education as well as all your plant needs. read more

Super helpful staff. If I want something they don't have they are willing to try to special order. They have always come through with my wish lists, just need to be willing to wait. The staff at Garden Spot are very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. They have an excellent selection of plants. I particularly loved their selection of Oriental Lilies. Gorgeous! They also have a great selection of ceramic planter pots - I bought a beautiful one that I get many compliments on. Garden Spot also offers interesting gardening classes and has some delicious recipes on their website. One of their staff members, Dianna Hrutfjord has a university degree in landscape design and did a wonderful job for me of designing our new garden. Love it. read more

I have always enjoyed going to this garden nursery for my plant needs, and the pottery sale is always a bonus! I was a little disappointed about the orchid class that was recently held, u had previously registered but when I arrived 15 minutes early the nursery was so busy I couldn't find anywhere to park. It was a Saturday at Trader Joe's which always means crazy, but after 25 minutes of driving around streets and circling the block I gave up. read more
