This used to be such a wonderful place to explore and find unique and beautiful plants. In the short time that Gardener's Supply (an out of state company) has been running it it now feels generic, commercial, and under stocked - missing the beautiful perennials and even original annuals they once had. I used to go in with one idea and leave with a cart overstuffed with what would become a whole new garden. On my last visit I only bought a pair of gloves... Beautiful displays of healthy roses and hydrangeas used to grace the front welcoming in the coastal summer... this year- lots of empty ceramic pots and anemic 4th of July plant displays that look reminiscent of Lowe's. So far Gardener's Supply has managed to ruin in a short time what used to be an excellent nursery. Gardeners don't want more of the same that they can get everwhere else... read more

Decent prices but when I visited with two friends, we were instantly followed the second we stepped into this store. We weren't helped or anything. Just followed. No interactions. We quickly realized that as the only three people of color in the store, this was intentional. The only comfort we felt was from the front staff when we were checking out. Overall we felt extremely uncomfortable and do NOT recommend this place to any person of color who want to visit. This was a hostile environment while we simply just wanted to look at plants. We were initially excited to visit this place, but our whole experience was ruined by this direct racial profiling. read more

I was so excited to add some new plants to my collection. I am extremely saddened to have profiled while browsing through the nursery. An employee kept following me (a black woman) and my two Asian friend. She offered no assistance and once we realized we purposefully moved to different areas and she KEPT FOLLOWING US! I got a plant but her attitude towards us was so hostile so we grabbed a plant and left. The staff at the front desk were friendly and welcoming and for that I give it 2 stars. read more

This has been my go to garden center, but it has been taken over by Gardiners Supply. Looks the same and has many great things. But many of the ID markers in the perennial section were empty. The line to check out was way too long. I gave up and left. Understaffed! read more

Great selection, very well maintained and extremely knowledgeable staff. Good prices, especially for hard to find items. I read the racial profiling reviews, which are from 2 people on the same visit and then 1 more, and have to call BS. When we were there, everyone was helpful, but not overly so. If you asked for help, or had a question, they answered/helped but, mostly left you to wander at your own pace. I too was "followed" while in the store/greenhouse, from a distance, and I'm not a person of color. At one point, I had to wait to get a question answered because the lady I needed to talk to was helping a Black woman, so much for being a racially hostile place. Not the same. Products aren't good and staff seems very unhappy. Many long time employees seem to have departed and there isn't anyone knowledgeable anymore. Plants don't even look good anymore. read more

This place racially profiles people. I thought the reviews on google and here may just have been from certain employees or someone having a bad day but it seems to be from all or anyone working there and although the owner claims to "care" they really don't. I am Caucasian and my husband is Asian(Thai). No one would offer us help yet they were fine offering it to others and we tired hunting down help. The person said one sec, walked away and we would then see the person again watering plants in another area. Just walked away and didn't intend to help us not find anyone who could with some questions. We are friendly people who absolutely do not deserve to be treated this way. We all bleed the same color. It's sad our young impressionable 3rd grader had to witness all of this, I hate having to explain things like this to him but we unfortunately do yet I shouldn't have to... We were not followed like the other customer was but we were obviously ignored nor greeted as other folks were. So sad. I warn others to please not support businesses who also support and promote racism and obviously allowing it in their work place. I wish for a better future for our son and that he won't have to experience this later on but wishful thinking on my end. read more

A really beautiful and well kept nursery and garden center. They have lots of variety of flowers, vegetables, berries, herbs, trees.. etc. They have a huge selection! They have very well maintained plants and the garden is labeled with signs for easier finding. They are a bit pricey for larger plants and pre- potted plants or garden supplies, the perennials and hanging baskets were overpriced in my opinion. I purchased two annuals and a vegetable plant. The smaller annual plants were much more reasonably priced. Overall it's a really beautiful nursery, I love my new plants and it was such a nice place to take a stroll and browse. I like supporting local businesses and I'll definitely go back soon! read more

Worth a visit even to stroll around their immaculate grounds and admire the gorgeous plants and tools for sale. Bring an elderly friend or your leashed dog for a beautiful day trip. But the BEST part is their staff is knowledgeable, and the products are high quality. You get what you pay for!!! If you are a novice gardener, they will make suggestions, offer to special order in a different size or will find the answers for you. The service is incredible. You will love it there!! I just visited rolling green nursery in greenland, NH, for the first time. Their selection of perennials is the best I've seen. Emile who works in perennials says that they grow most of what they sell. I saw a large selection of grasses, daylillies, hostas, and so much more. I ended up buying three different hydrangeas, but will definitely be back for one if their beautiful japanese maples. read more

I needed a quick hedge, so I went to my local garden center, where I found some western arborvitaes. I really liked the fact that they were grown fairly local in RI. The great staff helped me load them into my SUV along with some coast of Maine compost. With the planting directions they gave me, the project was done that afternoon, and the plants look awesome. read more

I had a horrible experience with Rolling Green and will never shop there again. At 4pm on a Friday, I purchased $300 worth of plants (3 plants total.) When I got home, I realized they were not going to fit properly. I did have a large yellow 8x10 receipt discussing the protocol for returns. Nowhere on this large sheet they gave me did it say, no return due to Covid. When I went to return them the very next early AM (plants hardly made it out of the car) they said no returns. It took a long time before a manager came to speak to me (the owner eventually did) and was incredibly rude right from the very second we began talking. She kept insisting that because of covid I could not return PLANTS and did not have a good reason as to why they would still hand out the 8x10 receipt. It should be written EVERYWHERE in receipt and around the business that there are NO RETURNS due to present circumstances. This should not be a contradiction. I was at RG three times this weekend didn't once see a sign saying no returns. Not only that, to be rude to a customer is absolutely unacceptable. I've worked in customer service for 20 years...I will never go here again. read more
